I have it on good authority that when the large immigration demonstration occurred weeks ago, the city needed to mobilize as many officers as possible for traffic and crowd control. The order was put out at headquarters that every P.O. assigned there was to don their uniform and be in the parking lot in one hour to be deployed.
Within that hour there was a stream of vehicles leaving the lot. Basically it was the housemouses running for their lives to avoid work. An hour later it was estimated at about 40 P.O.s out of the hundreds assigned at headquarters were ready to go the the demonstration.
So there you have it, the officers assigned to 35th St. when given an assignment they were hired to do, they choose to run home.
And as usual the rest of are left holding the bag.

That's marvelous story, too bad it's not entirely true.
Most of the Unit's there do a "casual Friday" thing. Most of the people who work there do not have lockers there either. So when the call came, most of the pople there did not have uniforms on hand...which is their fault to begin with. They were in fact racing home to get uniforms and get back there, which is what happened.
They screwed up, but they WERE'NT "running from work" to leave you with more to do.
Get over yourself already.

Rumors are like assholes, everyone has one. The problem with the demonstration was that many people in HQ did NOT have their uniforms ready, this in spite of a standing order that all HQ people have their uniforms at the ready at all times. And a lot of those without were from the 1st Deputy's office. Most units though had everyone manned and ready to go.
As "punishment" everyone in HQ was required to wear their uniforms for the following week, then back to C/D.
Swiping has been coming for some time. They've got this technology in place to ensure people aren't ducking and it was only a matter of time before it was implemented. At least we don't have to swipe out. If you've ever worked in the private sector and had to punch a clock, you know how it can be a real pain in the ass at quitting time. I don't care how quickly it works, there is a line to get out of the door.
Look on the bright side: all the dogs who are late every goddamn day have to clean up their act. Those of you who are on time everyday don't have anything to worry about. Your sergeant can still take care of you when you do a good job or if an emergency comes along. It's the DOG that has to worry.

Last month I attended my annual training session
that's required for maintaining my state prison
security clearance.
During the training session there was a presentation
by three speakers representing the Roman Catholic,
Protestant and Muslim faiths, who explained each of
their beliefs.
I was particularly interested in what the Islamic Imam
had to say.
The Imam gave a great presentation of the basics of
Islam complete with a video. After the presentations,
time was provided for questions and answers.
When it was my turn, I directed my question to the
Imam and asked: "Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but
I understand that most Imams and clerics of Islam have
declared a holy jihad [Holy war] against the infidels
of the world. And, that by killing an infidel, which
is a command to all Muslims, they are assured of a
place in heaven. If that's the case, can you give me
the definition of an infidel?"
There was no disagreement with my statements and
without hesitation, he replied, "Non-believers!"
I responded, "So, let me make sure I have this
straight. All followers of Allah have been commanded
to kill everyone who is not of your faith so they can
go to Heaven. Is that correct?"
The __expression on his face changed from one of
authority and command to that of a little boy who had
just gotten caught with his hand in the cookie jar.
He sheepishly replied, "Yes."
I then stated, "Well, sir, I have a real problem
trying to imagine Pope John Paul commanding all
Catholics to kill those of your faith or Dr. Stanley
ordering Protestants to do the same in order to go to
Heaven!"
The Imam was speechless.
I continued, "I also have a problem with being your
friend when you and your brother clerics are telling
your followers to kill me. Let me ask you a question.
Would you rather have your Allah who tells you to kill
me in order to go to Heaven or my Jesus who tells me
to love you because I am going to Heaven and He wants
you to be with me?"
You could have heard a pin drop as the Imam hung his
head in shame.
Needless to say, the organizers and/or promoters of
the "Diversification" training seminar were not happy
with Rick's way of dealing with the Islamic Imam and
exposing the truth about the Muslim's beliefs.
I think everyone in the U.S. should be required to
read this, but with the liberal justice system,
liberal media, and the ACLU, there is no way this will
be widely publicized.

Those "Liberal" Media Polls
Bush is reeling and having to actually face bracing questions from the media. A wide range of the latest polls show an average Bush disapproval/approval of 37.7% to 57.4%. Various on-line Impeachment polls are lopsided in favor. A recent MSNBC poll with over a quarter million votes is running 86% in favor of Impeachment.
It's refreshing to see Bush and company squirm as they deal with it all. Take the Plame leak. Do they really believe that anyone will fall for the "it wasn't really Classified, cuz the prez can override that at will" defense? After all this time of stonewalling? That's the best they can come up with? Do they think no one remembers Bush's indignant press conference of October 6, 2003? He boldly broke off, "And if this helps stop leaks, this investigation in finding the truth, it'll not only hold someone to account who should not have leaked --- and this is a serious charge, by the way. We're talking about a criminal action. But also hopefully we'll help send a clear signal we expect other leaks to stop as well."
Now it's not a criminal action because Bush himself "authorized" it? As a means of getting back at a political critic who told the truth about the same Iraq/Niger uranium claim that Bush lied about? Perhaps the most exasperating aspect of this media-generated controversy is the fact that the convicted Englewood arsonist son of the late Fred Hampton and most of the others who seek to memorialize a leader of cop killers were not even alive at a time when Panther violence was at its peak. Indeed, most active members of the CPD had yet to be born. The facts are available for research. Panther sympathizers and "historical revisionists" can not alter these facts.
Tyrone emphasizes that in striking out against "the establishment" or "the man", the Panthers target was BLUE--police officers, regardless of race. Nationwide, both white and black police officers were murdered in cold blood by the Panthers and black militant splinter groups.
Second Ward Ald. Madeline Haithcock is nothing more than a clueless tool for the widely-despised instigator of this brouhaha, Bobby Rush, the former "Minister of Defense" for the Illinois Chapter of the BPP and currently a congressman. Haithcock's preposterous proposal is both devisive and obscene. It denigrates the efforts of heroic civil rights leaders like Dr. King who advocated a strategy of non-violence in instituting long overdue sociopolitical reforms. It only reopens old wounds.
In the late 1960's, Tyrone was selected from his class at the CPD training academy to infiltrate the Panthers. Shortly thereafter, he "joined" the BPP and met Fred Hampton and others at their headquarters, 2350 W. Madison St.
According to Tyrone, in our conversations as recently as this afternoon, the Panthers were a group of extremely dangerous and "rotten gangbangers". They hated the police, brainwashing and inciting their members to "kill cops, break into cops' homes and autos" to steal "pig" weapons. They were "thugs, dopies, stick-up men and extortionists", constantly badgering struggling merchants along Madison Street. Their nominal "free breakfasts program for kids" was nothing more than a propaganda smoke screen for their criminal activities including the murders and attempted murders of police officers.
Hampton, Rush and the Panther braintrust would "play dress-up" with their trademark black berets and leather jackets, a primary benefit being widespread access to physically attractive, yet gullible young women who were seduced by the notoriety of the Panthers. They would also appear at Panther rallies, invariably being introduced by white activists. Then, they would incessantly incite those in attendance, including dull-witted fanatics to "OFF THE PIGS!" and "liberate the black community from the occupying pig armies." As documented history bears out, their incendiary words went far beyond mere "Maoist rhetoric".
Tyrone also bought guns from "mules" who brought the weapons up from the South, the sole reason: "to kill pigs!"

"Tyrone" cannot do that!!!! If you look at the FBI investigations online, etc., Informant's names are blocked out. Blocked out for a reason.

Just received word from the Gilhooly family.
In a letter from the family to Mayor Daley dated March 8, 2006.
It was a very well-written and nice letter, considering the situation.
Mentioned are the facts that the Mayor's father attended Officer Gilhoolys' funeral and supported and gave comfort to the family.
At the dedication of Gold Star Family Park in September, 2000, they also recall the Mayor said the following:
"...we must never forget the sacrifices these brave men and women made to protect the families and neighborhoods of this city."
Officer Gilhooy's father, John served with CPD for 29 years, someone who shall remain nameless is currently CPD, so is another who is a candidate for the prestigious Carter/Harrison Lambert Tree Award, and as we already know, Patrolman Alphonsus Gilhooly served as a personal guard at the Mayor's Bridgeport home.
Oh yes, the family purchased a BRICK from the memorial park and feel that they are hypocritical.

Stupid 014 District so-called copper, who dines every morning for free at a Burger King Restaurant, located on North ave. west of California Ave. in the 014 District. This "Idiot" Copper had the nerve to give the Manager of the Burger King restaurant, a ticket for tinted windows, while her vehicle was parked in the Burger King lot. And this incident occurred after the so-called Officer received and ate his food for free every morning that he works in the 014 District, on the 2nd watch. This "idiot" is the reason why businesses do NOT take care of the police these days. The stinker about this so-called Police Officer is that he runs around the 014 District, trying to pick up gangbanger hood rats in his fancy, red, tinted windows and tinted plates Lexus, with a plate of "cant b me"! Then the latest episode of this ongoing scenario is that this idiot copper has the nerve to go back to that same Burger King Restaurant on a different day and demand food for free and insists that he is not paying and believes he is entitled to free food. Poor good citizen felt so sorry for this asshole Copper "eigen*****", who was making an embarrassing scene representing Chicago Police Officers, in the restaurant. That the hard working citizen, who has a real job to go to, standing in line, waiting to go to work with his cup of coffee, had stepped up to pay for the coppers meal! Most Chicago Police Officers would be embarrassed to commit what amounts to Disorderly Conduct at minimum and would even get charged with theft if it were a private citizen! Most coppers in the 014 District knows he is an asshole, even to his fellow officers but to "shit in the same place you eat" is pretty STUPID! Way to go Eigen***** you are a real, freakin moron and I hope the whole city knows about you and hopefully someday you will have a nice favor paid to you in return ala like the Burger king manager who has been a prince to all of the local coppers of the 014 District and in fact has gone out of her way each and everytime for Police Officers that go to that Burger King, no matter what District your from!

There is an idiot like that in every district, who ruins it for all of us. But that guy is pretty bad! Pathetic.
If an eating establishment wishes to discount or comp a meal or some coffee, say thank you very much. Remember to leave a BIG tip to the waitress, and don't compute it on the discounted bill, but on the ACTUAL BILL....and at LEAST 25% if the meal is comped.
However, if you aren't offered a discount or a comp, then don't make a scene or be a jagoff. NO ONE OWES YOU ANYTHING! It's nice when an establishment wants to be nice to the police, but they don't OWE US SHIT!

I just want to write about two things common to us, but can't harp on enough.
Number 1, Illegal aliens. Why are they allowed to stay, and who is profitting from them? I was working in 024 yesterday and followed a van up into Evanston. Clueless m/4 driver did not know that wig-wag head ligths + air horn + siren = policia! Of coure no licsencia, no seguros de auto, no SSN! But yet, amazingly his van is properly registed to his name with the State of Illinois! How is that possible?? Don't you need a IL d/l to buy a car, let alone get license plates?????? Guess not. The car dealer gets their money for the car sale and the state gets their money for the plate. nice system. Glad it works so well!
Number 2, residency! During the stop (that ended in Evanston) a very nice EPD PO backed us up. Once the Tstop is done we start talking about a very common topic for us that "came on" after the housing bubble over-inflated crappy Shitago housing prices. The EPD guy tells us that he lives in the DuPage part of Bensenville!!! What?? You don't have to even live in Crook county????? What a bunch of B.s.!! Pls give the chance to leave!

For those you that like history, and might have missed it during the media propaganda blitz that was going on at the time. Look into the Serb side of the 1998-1999 struggle over Kosovo-Metohija. Not that the media would have any biases or adgenda, but there was much more than what was allowed on the tv.
I bring this up because Kosovo is a modern example of an minority population, in time, taking over a soverign (part of a) country.

I completed the Illinois Retired Officer Concealed Carry course back in February. It's an easy course but, if your dad has not shot in a while, take him to the range and let him practice. There were several who failed the course while I was there.
The Will County Sheriff's Deputies that ran the course were absolutely great! It's a shame that we have to go all the way out there but at least we have *somewhere* to go to qualify.
