From what we can gather, an electrical arc of some sort shut down the repeater tower and all of Zone 10. There is some construction going on at the station and the e-mails sent to us wonder if that might have caused the outage. In the meantime, 011 is operating out of 010. The RBT, HSG and SVU detective divisions have been moved to three different Areas and prisoner processing is all being done off site.
So Fillmore leads in homicides, aggravated batteries and electrical fires for the year. Congratulations!

Admittedly, I was just as loud and ignorant when I worked in 011 over fifteen years ago, but that was when Rockwell Gardens was loaded to full capacity. There wasn't Yuppies up to California Avenue like there is now. We all thought we were the "real police" but now I've become one of the old timers that I used to mock after two decades of ghetto and hitting that wall called "burnout." To the young grasshoppers with the big mouths in the HARRISON district, have some respect for us old timers who have already done everything you are doing now. But we did it all without computers and bulletproof vests and in shittier cars with no air conditioning. You pampered little Starbucks-swilling college twits would have been eaten alive back then.

There he was a CPD Officer standing there with what appears to be an AR15 rifle w/scope. My question is , what the fuck was he going to do with it if the prisoners started to run ??? The weapon was on loan to special events from the inventoried and confiscated gun vault. Like all the other gun photo op's for the city. It was a turn in by a gangbanger rewarded with no questions asked and a 100. dolla reward. Just loaned out for the special, "What If" Event. The photo op will be later shown along side a photo of "Doing a Good Job Daley and Hubberman" article for Time magazine.

Well said and so damn true. That place really rocked. 011, as bad as it is now, can't be anywhere near what it was when I got there in the late 70's. For one thing... there were buildings, .....all over:) The place was crawling! on 3rd watch we'd hit the streets with 4 - 5 jobs and go all night. Thinking back, man that place sucked, BUT the Officers didn't. We took care of each other and most of us lived.
I wish the same to the current Fillmore rangers but don't dirty that and yourself with crap like that 1st poster.

I ran right over to 4001 when I heard the news. It's still a vacant lot. However, there was a fire at the Harrison District station. The Fillmore station closed over thirty years ago and it is still closed. If you weren't assigned there you weren't there. For a bunch of people who don't respect the old guys, you sure envy the Fillmore designation. Stop calling the ghosts from the past. Be proud of your assignment at Harrison. You missed the Fillmore boat.
Stop referring to the 11th Dist. as "Fillmore" immediately. It is the "Harrison" Dist.

The officers in the picture are from the SORT cars and were assigned there by the Commander of SOS.
The weapon in the officer's hands is a M4. It has the ability to be fully automatic but it very unlikely to be used in such a capacity ever, in this city.
The officers did say it seemed to be more of a public relations/keep the natives calm show of force.
