We have it from numerous comments and a few sources that two officers at Special Operations were stripped of their police powers today. No word on charges or allegations.
In the comments, no names will be posted until publicly released and even then, we might just link to the article and let everyone draw their own conclusions. Batten down the hatches.

The department according to rumors let this unit get out of control for a long time.
Before this thread gets ugly, I just wanted to say good job by the day cage team on the search warrant they conducted today. One shithead approximately 30 different weapons; handguns, rifles, some with sights. One of the weapons was some machine gun type (sorry I'm not an expert) that was fully automatic .45 cal.

What's great about this whole thing is that the upper echelon of this Department have been giving tacit approval to the main PO involved for many years. One of the most highly decorated, well respected coppers in SOS. Stats count for a lot on this job, regardless of the amount stolen or the rules bent.
If J.F. ends up going to jail, then there are a whole raft of bosses that should be going before him. From about 1993 to present day!!! They knew what he was about but looked away due to the numbers he brought in! Shame shame! 13 years of atrocities ignored!
You can't have it both ways! 13 years of teaching the new guys the same old shit. And every boss ever to work that unit knew EXACTLY what they were about! But the axe will only fall on the blue shirts and maybe one or two token white shirts. It goes much higher. But that's the story we'll never hear about...
If the rumors are true, this is going to be the biggest scandal ever for this Department. The perfect stepping stone for Jesse Jr.!
Rumor is that a recently deceased P.O. figures prominently in this mess. Let's hope his name doesn't get dragged through the mud, his family has suffered enough.

SOS did not even exist as a unit in 1993. You ought to get your facts straight before you shoot your mouth off. And speaking of bosses, are you saying that you knew something was wrong? You ought to look in the mirror before you put on the uniform again!
You are correct!! The bosses new what shit was going on but whored these officers for their numbers. They could have nipped this shit a long time ago. I really feel sorry for these guys, because as wrong as they were (according to rumor)the bosses let them keep it going. Don't do shit on this job except collect a check !!

NOTE : The Feds and IAD don't look to put your ass in jail for a long time for doing "NOTHING". So when you try to justify numbers with commission your'e going to find yourself siting with Duke. PS These rumors just did'nt start yesterday. Where were all the supervisors. Don't worry I may be a Dog-ass but I'll be one of the first to buy a benefit ticket.
You have to be responsible for your own behviour. The bosses can't always be blamed. "He was a good soldier" isn't going to fly in court and the bosses are removed from that system.

I think SOG did start around the end of 93. That's when the old gang units broke up and split between districts and SOG, now SOS. Anyway, does it really matter if the guy was off by a few months? I agree with his main message, the P.O.'s are encouraged to break all the rules for guns, but if you get caught, you take it in the butt. Maybe literally if you end up in jail.

Actually it came into being on January 06, 1993. That would be the day that Gangs North/West/South were disbanded. Try and get your shit straight before you go correcting people.
SOS DID FORM IN JAN 0F 93..I HAVE THE COMPLETE TRANSFER ORDER..THAT IS WHEN THEY GOT THE DISTRICT GANG TEAMS..WITH THE OFFICERS/SGT THAT DID NOT GO TO SOS..THEY WERE TOLD THEY COULD PICK A DISTRICT TO GO TO AND THEY WOULD START UP A GANG TEAM AND WOULD KEEP IT FOR AT LEAST 1-YR.
The embarrassing part is that because the City blew off all the CR investigations, an outide agency got involved. The City will definately put a spin on it.

That was only for the racial incident in 015. Between that and the stuff in 019, there is going to be a piece on the "simmering racial divide" on the Department. As if this is something new...
Why don't you guys wake up. There isn't a District or a Unit in this Department that hasn't been affected by dirty Coppers. Any Copper that's dirty deserves what they get. But don't think it hasn't happened in your unit before. Wake up!!!

WRONG! The piece I watched him film was on the 9pm news and it was about SOS. Why would he come to Homan Square to film a story about 015 or 019?

Actually if you must know it started in the late 50's with Capt. Ryan. They all rode two wheel Harleys. They were known as Ryan's Raiders, as time went by it was changed to the Task Force. Then it was changed again to Special Operations Group. Then it became Gang Crimes, now it is SOS. Some of the guys that were in SOG are still in SOS. The way this Dept. works is hilarious. The wife of a guy in SOS is the Deputy of IAD'S secretary. The secretary of FOP has a son in SOS. You can't tell me there haven't been leaks, cover ups and ommissions going on.
