Once again, the rumor system has broken down completely. There were exempt changes last week, mostly lateral moves and such. We heard a certain captain returned from a leave of absence working for the mayor's office to take over the Deuce - guess we don't have to speculate on where her clout is, eh? And for some reason, Alvarado was dumped out of ERPS. Who's got a list of the changes and the stories behind them? Post here.

Merit Sgt. Jeff Hoffman of the Senior Citizens Program-that should tell you all-is on crime watch telling all not to let strangers in your house and don't give personal information out. Merit Jeff ahas a 3 person unit he's in charge of at 35th St. After his squad car romance with his then girlfriend (he was married) he married her-also a do nothing P.O.- and went to 022nd District where he made a deal to make 100 DUI areests and be promoted merit-useless piece of shit. There's another 100,000 a year of taxpayer's money wasted on a "sgt?" who is afraid of his own shadow. That's not even including his useless wife. WHAT A FUCKING WASTE WITH THESE 2 IDIOTS!
I know nothing about Alvarado, but he sure gets moved around a lot. This is his fourth Command spot in the last 2 or 3 years. What's the scoop?
I knew guys in 025 while he was there and they said Alvarado pretty much flew completely under the radar and never really bothered anyone or made any changes. Is he just in over his head or is he just so heavy that he can keep moving around until he finds something he likes?
While I agree with the need to reduce the plethora of stupid comments on this site, I find the current format inhibiting. Having to wait for comments to be approved eliminates the back-and-forth interaction among posters, and prohibits the timely answering of questions. As such, the blog has become boring and dull.
Perhaps you could address this issue with more frequent postings?
Yeah, Commander Matthews from 005 came in like gang busters pushing POs around like they were shit. Alot of racial slurs and unsubstantiated allegations of police brutality against his gang-banging piece of shit son. Just their typical bullshit. Lotsa CRs should have been obtained but they probably were not. Why? Because the Commander is black and the mayor won't allow the persecution of the poor black man. Reagrading the 19th dist incident can anyone verify that ADS DAY obtained Cr #'s against both the commander and PO's? All accounts is the commander was DEAD wrong, came in demanding alot of things. Which normally wouldnt have been a problem except he didnt identify himself. Then when challenged instead of stating Im so and so, he started with the "YOU kNow who I am?" To the Media monitors out there, look into this so that the P.O.'s dont get pooped on as usual. Supt Cline: If the Commander was wrong please take action morale is a quickly sinking ship we get the short end of the stick when an allegation of wrong doing is placed. Alvarado always flew under the radar because he was trying to hide from Maria. He couldn't afford another ass whuppin by a female which he ALWAYS got when she was around. I remember going into his office one day. I started to speak when he stopped me before I could utter two words. He turns the volume of his desk top radio up which was usually tuned into some Spanish station and then tells me to go ahead and talk. He was always worried about Maria hearing what he was saying or being said in his office because there was only a brick wall seperating their offices, which were side by side. It took all my inner strength not to start laughing at the way this so called leader of men cowered in the presence of a women.

Incident in 019...
Hitiris showed GREAT restraint by not tazing those dog-ass motherfuckers, and much credit is deserved by the watch commander who had to put up with this bullshit. Here's the real story:
Report of dark SUV, man with gun. Car curbed, driver (Matthews)becomes resistive and needs to be removed from the car. Begins to kick PO's, OC used. Gun was recovered from car.
Daddy was called at some point and the whole family (commander, other son, wife who is NOT A PO and 1 unknown female, also NOT A PO) comes rushing into the station in classic ghetto style, never identifying themselves, no IDs showing and not in uniform, but firearms exposed. PO's working the desk attempted to block the hallway to the interview rooms getting pushed aside and being told by the commander's wife, "get the fuck out of my way". The commander and his alleged other son (PO in duce) are screaming at the tops of their lungs, "you don't know who you fuckin' with, fuck all you people, I want to know who beat up my son, I want all the names and I want CR's on all these motherfuckers", all this time pointing in the WC's face. The commander's PO son then called Hitiris a racist.
OPS CR's were obtained on the PO's who made the arrest and IAD CR's were obtained on the commander and his son.
...but let me ask this... If my son was arrested in 005 could I come into the station and point my finger in the watch commander's face, and have my wife push the PO's? Didn't think so...
The Hispanic Commander was ADS Jose Velez.
His son is alleged to have pushed a female PO from 023.
Mijo (my son) was asked to leave the Waveland rocks twice and on
the cond occaision, pushed the PO
Velez came into 023 and instead of slapping his son on the back of the head, began to threaten 023 personnell with his rank
Capt Ralph Price was the W/C and wasnt having any of it.

ADS Velez was quickly restored to his civil service rank of Lt and was assigned to the 1st Watch in I believe 016. He retired shortly thereafter.

THE PO'S ANSWERED A RADIO ASSINGMENT FOR THE JOB WHERE THEY LOCKED UP THE COMMANDER OF 5'S KID,AND THEY HAVE A COUPLE OF WITNESSES BACKING UP THE COPPERS VERSION OF THE INCIDENT. His son was also arrested in 024 for assaulting a gas station guy. Kicking at the P.O.'s, throwing stuff at the clerk etc... Arrested on signd complaints by the attendant and processed for DC. The entire time yelling "cracker, honkey, spic, wetback, motherfuckers....I'll kill all you motherfuckers, etc.. He called daddy and The "Commander" and his wife were in 024 and got a CR# on the coppers. Complete fucking bullshit. He puuled this shit for this rotten motherfucker in 024 and beefed on the coppers when he was arrested on signed complaints. Now the little angel gets locked up with a gun and fights the police after fisrt assaulting a convience store clerk, and daddy is back trying to interfere with this arrest and wants CR#'s on these coppers. Velez was aDeputy for 1 day an they dumped his ass for the same type of shit (once) but they let this ass keep going. Nice fucking city. I didn't think we passed any repairations ordinance? For those of you who think this isn't about race, whatever. A Hispanic boss tries to bully his shithead son out of a battery to P.O. on a cannabis arrest and he's fired in a day. A few facts re: the 019th incident
then some speculation...
1. banger was driving daddy's(aka the 5th district's commander) personal car
2. banger had the cleanest chrome .32 cal with pearl handles I've ever seen(wanna take a guess who's gun it really is?)
3. gun is unregistered(but hopefully the state or feds can link it back to daddy)
4. banger lives with daddy
5. banger has gang tat's up m down his arms making it impossible for anyone, much less a policeman, to have any doubts as to gang involvement
6. two cr's were issued, 1 for excessive force by the arresting po's and 1 for the commander n his other son
7. commander n his son both stormed into 019 in plain clothes, no identification showing, guns visible and rushed areas of the district that are for personnel only(prob the only thing that saved em from being shot is the fact that the on duty desk sergeant knew the commnder) and physically battered(ie shoved) at least two uniformed po's while screaming obscenities and threats towards every1 in the station
8. the banger's older brother, a po in the duece, said he happened to be driving by the address of arrest during the incident on his way home
9 ads day tried her best to talk the po's and sergeant out of filing the cr
10 the commanders wife, who is not a po, pushed an officer but was not arrested.
11 the commander's car was returned to him out of "professional courtesy" i assume.
12 the banger is proud n self proclaimed vicelord, driving around in insane duece territory
13 the banger and his vehicle were described n contact carded about a week ago in the same area regarding a shots fired call

Dan Alvarado is a nice man that should not be the police...at all. It is not in his nature to make decisions and he seems very uncomfortable in any kind of spotlight. Seems like he would be a great neighbor and a good co-worker in another line of work.
It's So sad but we can not choose our family!! It's also not fair that the commanders car was not towed. When my son was pulled over while driving my car with weed in the trunk, the vehicle was towed and a fine of $1,160 had to be paid. How many times can he run to his son's rescue?? My son didn't even call me.

CMDR Matthews lives in 019, right around the corner from the station. Met him and his wife a few times when I lived just down the street...both were always really pleasant...never met either son in question, though.

This man is a Comdr., a top manager in this department, and acts like an out of control jerk. For the money he is being paid, he should be in control, respectful to his fellow officers, follow the rules, and not pull the race card sh*t. I'm sure he regrets how he handled things, and if he doesn't he's a dickhead. Tried to talk the uniformed SGT into forgetting about it, uniformed SGT, a very handsome older gentleman introduced the son to plainclothes SGT 'smiley'. The department must not do much checking at all. It sent three senior lieutenants, from 12, 13 and 19, who live on the far north side to 2, 6 and 7 while ignoring all the newly made lieutenants from the south side.
It sent one old timer lieutenant from 10 to 25. He lives on the north side, but this guy is weeks away from retirement.
Like bosses or not, this is just plain wrong. Phil, these orders have you name on them, did you even look?
The Lieutenant going to 007 lives in near Little Village in 010.
The one going from 019 to 002 lives near Harlem and Devon.
The one from 013 going to 006 is a northsider.
All of the Lieutenants transfered have some senority.
The one going from 1st watch in 010 to 025 has a lot of senority and lives in 025, how did that happen? This guy was counting down the days to pulling the pin and planning the retirement party. Thanks so much for over 30 years of loyal service,
They were moved so that the department does not have to pay overtime for visiting watch commanders. They will spend little time in the districts assigned and will be moving all the time within the areas.
Either there is not enough southsiders with enough clout to make Lieutenant or the southsiders have so much clout they don't have to work districts.
If the changes were made in the Bureau of Patrol, they were made be the chief bureaucrat, Charlie Williams. A man known to be short on more than just stature. I hope they all file grievances and win. It will prove that the PBPA is better than the FOP.

Maybe they shjould bust Matthews to lieutenant and put him on midnights there. Or worse make him drive all the way to 025.

The watch commander in 019 in this in incident is the lieutenant going to the duece.

The transfer order came out a few days before the incident... too bad, Mullane could of had a beef.
