Another City Blogger

We aren't claiming to be the inspiration for any of this, but we'll help spread the word. In addition to the Chicago Dispatchers blog, it seems members of the CTA have started a blog, too.

CTA Sound Off began earlier this week. Although we have little to do with the CTA aside from answering calls on their buses and checking on their stations and such, it is kind of amusing to think that possibly, somewhere, a politician or two is shaking their heads now that the Police, the Dispatchers and the CTA workers have semi-public outlets that they can vent their gripes and complaints and expose wrongdoing in the "City that Works - Occasionally." CFD has had a site for a bit already, more along the lines of the old SecondCityCopNetwork.

Wouldn't it be something to get all the different City departments their own blogsites for exposing City corruption, crookedness, and business as usual type events and maybe bring some real reform to this burg? Maybe even a few County blogs? Wouldn't that be hilarious?

we, the people of this city, are only a minor irritation to the ruleing class. the important business of this city, the redistribution of tax dollars, will continue uninterupted by the bloggings of the peasants.

The CTA absolutely SUCKS.
Daley needs to get rid of Pres. Frank K. and replace him with CTA Board Carol Brown. She also has a blog and has brass cajones.
Carol is very open minded, listens to the public, has a spine, upfront and can also dish it out when necessary.

The majority of people who use public transportation average a daily commute time of 4 hours.

And yes, we need a blog on this clout bullsh*t in our city. It's effecting our lives, jobs, etc.

It's outstanding! Go CTA bring some more wood to the fire. The public has to know sooner or later, they have a right too, like us they're taxpayers too.
When you have a job where there is a "no strike" clause, there has to be way to keep the playing field level.
One day we will all stand strong together, we will need too, esp when they're talking about eliminating all of our health benefits in the year 2013.
Wait til the mass exodus of employees leave the city on that date. How safe and secure will everyone really be?

Hey 12:01:56, the Carol Brown apologist. where do you get your statitistics about an average commute time of 4 hours? Show us where that is documented, or do you think you can just say anything and that no one will call you on it?

SCC,

Curious...

Do you have a forum also (like domelights.com/forums or RealPolice.net) or just the blog?

We'd welcome a citywide "clout disclosure" blog. Or a forum. There's plenty of "clout placement" in the 911 center.

Quit painting ALL Cook County employees with the same paint brush!

As a county police officer, I really resent this. I work with many fine upstanding officers that are the real police.... Yeah, we have clout babies, 11th, 8th, and 19th ward wonders..... Just like the city does.

As a one-man car, I regularly go to heater calls all by myself. We don't have 2-man cars. Everyday is John Wayne time for us.

I can take the ball busting, problems, issues, lawyers, beefs, etc. What I can't take is that the county board has called it open season on all employees. In my 23 years, I have never met another group like this myoptic, bitching, bantering, un-caring crew!

Really motivates me to go 99 to a bar fight in Leyden.... Hooo-Yeah!!
