New Link (and old ones too)
Another new blog is up and running. Second City Sarge has claimed us as their inspiration. They also state that blogging is WAY harder than it looks. We won't disagree.
Rue St. Michel is back in the saddle after a short absence and has a number of pieces up - always a good and thought provoking read.
We also noticed that CTA Soundoff and Chicago Dispatch haven't been updated in a few weeks and that's too bad. We know how hard it is to keep coming up with decent topics and how difficult it can be to make the time to type them up, link them, and present them in a way that provokes some sort of response and dialogue from our readers. That's part of the reason we're trying our hand at a few longer essays actually addressing concerns we have about the Department. We aren't going to change anything, but it does get people involved. And who knows - maybe one of them WILL change something somewhere down the line.

Regarding dispatch blog, we are still talking under those couple last posts. Blogmaster having some hard times, but I'm sure blogmaster will kick into gear soon.
AAAAAAND?

Maybe we won't change anything now, or even in the near future, but like a good teacher, you never know how far your influence goes. So keep trying!
Keep up the good work SCC. Eventually this unfair, corrupt system will change. It will collapse under its own incompetence and deadweight. It may not be anytime soon, or in any of our carers, but it will happen.
As a retired spvr. (over 6 years now) who put in 32+ yrs; I find SCC to be a very helpful and informational site as to what is going on in and around the dept. It has improved greatly since all the garbage posts have been eliminated.
It would be helpful if death and benefit notifications were posted on SCC with some consistancy.
Retiree s have no other source of information for such matters. The FOP website is often days behind and the newspaper don't always list all members.
The more things change, the more they stay the same. So keep on pissing and moaning. The beat goes on.
Thanks for the link! Happy typing and stay safe!
