FOP Endorses No One

Damn - we were hoping for "none of the above" to get the nod!

Anyway, we were wondering why the FOP didn't follow the lead of the Firefighters and just go endorse Dorothy Brown. Then we were directed to Dorothy's website by a friend and if you look down the left hand column about two thirds of the way down and you see a link titled "Police Torture."

And a parade of articles unfolds - The Defender, The New York Times, Human Rights Watch, The Reader - a veritable pantheon of leftist publications and their ilk who are very much of the anti-police stripe. Anti-police articles don't really bother the firefighters, but they really ought to bother the police. And if your entire campaign is based on the fact that you aren't Richie Daley AND a main plank in your campaign is an anti-police agenda, then she doesn't really deserve our endorsement.

The enemy of your enemy isn't necessarily your friend. Channel 7 covers the story.

Why didn't the FOP endorse anyone????
Because they are a bunch of spineless, wanna be political hacks, who are only looking out for their own interests.

Very interesting information about Dorothy Brown. I now see why FOP endorsed no one. It is a shame that nobody decent either white or black will step up to run against Daley. As much as I dislike Daley, he may be the lesser of the three evils, and I sure hate not to vote, guess I will write in Patrick Fitzgerald.

One can be judged by the way one speaks.

Ms Brown mispronounces words snd uses them out of context.

Thats my clue that she isnt the brightest bulb on the block.

She also cried literally because Rev Meeks slighted her by not endorsing her and allgedly called her a loser.

What is she going to do when a real problem hits here?

In my view she isnt the best candidate for Mayor.

Id much rather have Harold Washington back than either of the The Stooges we are faced with now

Its a shame we can never have a real choice, just the lesser of the two evils, or in this case the 3 evils.

GO WRITE ALL THOSE DOUBLE AND TRIPLE CARS PARKED BY ALL THE CHURCHES IN THE HOOD. THE DEPT WANTS TO BE SO STUPID AS TO TICKET AND TOW A POLICE VEHICLE WHICH IS PARKED IN A SPOT BECAUSE THE OFFICERS HAD TO PARK THEIR WHILE ENGAGED IN THEIR OFFICIAL POLICE DUTIES THEN EVERYBODY IS FAIR GAME. WHEN YOU THINK YOU'VE SEEN AND HEARD IT ALL, THE DEPT COMES UP WITH ANOTHER DUMBASS ORDER.

STATE LAW SAYS WE CAN PARK ILLEGALLY WHILE DOING OUR JOB. COMMON SENSE SAYS PARK ILLEGALLY BECAUSE PARKING 3 BLOCKS AWAY FROM THE JOB LOCATION OR DRIVING IN CIRCLES FOR 5 MINUTES LOOKIN FOR A SPOT WHILE A CRIME IN GOING DOWN OR A PERSONS LIFE IS AT RISK IS RIDICULOUS.

WHAT THIS CITY HAS COME TOO. BOY O BOY. F.O.P. WHY DON'T YOU COME UP WITH AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT REGARDING THE POLICE IN HARMS WAY AND THE MAJOR MAN POWER SHORTAGE.

Here is something to consider regarding getting HQ and the Mayor's office's attention (BTW. Suntimes, check it out)...
ATTN: 001 dist officers, your district has two influencial private Men's Clubs: The Standard Club at 320 S. Plymouth(Jewish heritage required) and The Union League Club at 115 W. Jackson. Both clubs use the City street as a personal parking garage. Sometimes Plymouth is three deep across the yellow line with Benz's,BMW, and other overpriced rides.

Why doesn't meter maids ticket them??? They have told NOT TO!
The 001st Dist. should ticket the shit outta both places every friday and sat. nite when they are having their discrete fundraising parties for the Mayor. They have a direct line to Richie. Remember, King Richie is just like westside dude... "Don't be messing with my money bitch!"

How long would it take before Dana embarressed the Mayor amongst rich whitee (his cornbread and butter).

You see, their membership (Dr. Attys and business owners) make more political donations than anyother group in the city to the Mayor's campaign.

Also, coppers work the front door of both places... They wont have the balls to try and muscle you outta writing a parking ticket. They are OFF DUTY!

OFF TOPIC:
BUT ANOTHER KICK IN THE ASS FOR CPD

(Washington, DC) -- Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, announced today that it has filed an open records lawsuit against the Chicago Police Department related to the department’s policies concerning illegal immigration. Judicial Watch’s lawsuit, (Judicial Watch, Inc. v. Chicago Police Department, #06CH28084), filed on December 22, 2006 in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, asks the court to compel the Chicago Police Department to comply with Judicial Watch’s October 13, 2006 Illinois Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request seeking documents pertaining to policies and procedures governing the interaction between Chicago police officers and known or suspected illegal aliens

***************************
It's not a kick in the ass.... it's a welcome intervention!!!!!

The lawsuit is trying to force the Department to comply with the Freedom of Information Act and it’s looking to expose the Department and the City for bolstering the Sanctuary City status regarding illegal aliens. Judicial Watch is trying to prosecute illegal aliens and is trying to intercede on behalf of local law enforcement by fighting for police officers right to inquire the citizenship status of detainees and cooperate with Federal Immigration officers and seek detention and deportation of the illegal alien(s).

Here’s the link: http://www.judicialwatch.org/archive/2006/Rhode_Island_Letter.pdf

The link expresses several sections of Federal law that not only allow, but dictate local law enforcement to take enforcement action when encountering Illegal Aliens.

Any Illegal Alien in a vehicle is subject to Federal Statute 8 U.S.C, 1324(a)(1)(A))ii). “Any person who knowingly in reckless disregard of the fact that an alien has come to, entered, or remains in the United States in violation of law, transports, or moves or attempts to move such alien within the United States by means of transportation or otherwise, in furtherance of such violation of law… shall be punished.”

“…No officer or person shall have authority to make any arrest for a violation of any provision of this section except officers and employees of the Service designated by the Attorney General, either individually or as members of a class, AND ALL OTHER OFFICERS WHOSE DUTY IT IS TO ENFORCE CRIMINAL LAWS".

Hit the link, it’s the bases of an ACLU suit against an officer and his department for taking enforcement action against 14 Illegal Aliens and their mule. If an illegal alien is in a vehicle, he/she is being moved or transported either by him/herself or by another, subjecting them to this federal Statute and compelling local law enforcement to intercede. …Google the Federal Statute.

Maybe we can get S&S to tow their cars and leave ours alone?

SCC and all people in Blue,

I cross posted the following on Capitol Fax Blog and a similar comment at Illinoize - all the best!:

The shelf life of the Torture allegations is way past due. Flint Taylor, again, took it to the U.S. Supreme Court and again - it got tossed.

Jayne Byrne was Mayor and cops got killed and detectives were told to bring in the killers. Leftist journalists like Shelly Abramsky concocted a story that Northwestern University Prof and Convicted ( pardoned) Felon Bernadine Dohrn Ayers pushed on law students and journalists that Burge ( an enlisted man) was a Trained torturer ( he was in Vietnam; Vietnam was Bad; ergo Burge was a trained torturer) and for nearly thirty years the PLO has tried to win the Lotto on this one. It is a sexy news story.

Saying so don’t make it so, no matter how loud or how long ( Byrne Washington, Orr, Sawyer that’s alot of Mayors and you smart guys know that Mayors control everything - and could have brought any number of cases against Burge or anyone else - but did not). If they had a case they would have tossed Burge twenty years ago.

I think some really bad people avoided the neddle thanks to PLO and some people who want to keep this racially explosive story out front - it keeps the Police Department and all Law Enforcement as a convenient straw-man. Old timey cops slapped and might even have punched some thugs - where is the nut zapper? Where is the mythical steam pipe in Area 2 that burned so many innoicent Black ( and recently Hispanic where’d they come from?) Men? Where is the evidence? Why has not ANY branch of government brought charges against anyone? They have not. They will not. But, the racial Roswell stories will help phony activists, lawyers, and political wannabees.

The S & S trucks that towed the police vehicles were not assigned. They were trolling and had been given the go ahead. They thought they were cute! Perhaps whomever is posting the nonsense regarding the relationship they would like to maintain with the Police Department (from the highest authority) should be having a little chat with the jagoff drivers who towed the vehicles.

I could only wish this was the Chicago Police Department of 30 years ago. I tip my hat to the coppers in 009. Their fathers would be proud of them.

We cannot let this go unanswered. If we do, they own us completely. If old man Daley were alive, he would be telling his punk kid that he had just made a big fucking mistake.

why would any copper in his right mind double his/her efforts to just increase the amount of money going to the city I know asking for a month long moratorium on parking tickets is pushing it......but a week JUST TO SEE if finally coppers can do something to benefit themselves and show some sort of unity....just once!!!

This is a great way to get undocumented people out of here:

CHICAGO -- A 22-year-old woman is suing a Chicago Spanish-language radio station over allegations that they refuse to give her the car she won in a contest because she's undocumented.

Maribel Nava Alvarez won the Corvette on July 4, 2005, in a raffle sponsored by 107.9 FM La Ley.

In a written statement, La Ley said that it is legally required to get a valid Social Security number or tax identification number from anyone who wins prizes worth more than $500.

The station tried to give Alvarez the car even though her tax information couldn't be verified, the statement said.

Alvarez said she has left the Chicago area out of fear that she would be deported.

I use to work in 001 and we regularly received oral instructions to leave both the Standard Club and the Union League alone. I know the Union League ain't dumb. They went directly to the 001 dist. and hired (for cash) off-duty police to "work the front door." For what? To keep the doctors from getting outta hand? No silly, they were buying a pass from the working man.

On the other hand, the Jews at the Standard Club basically said you fuck with us and well call the Mayor. We did, and then were reassigned away from the beat so we could concentrate our efforts more towards the savage living on the south end of the district. I guess the Jews got it right?

Back to my point... I agree w/ the earlier post-Write these rich yuppies. It will kill them that they give the democratic party big cash and two hours later they get wacked with a orange ticket in thanks for their generousity!

Winning a Chevrolet Corvette is the stuff of dreams.

P>In Maribel Nava Alvarez's case, it has been a nightmare.
The former Little Village resident said officials with local radio station La Ley 107.9 FM and its parent company, Spanish Broadcasting System, withheld the gray sports car she won in a La Ley raffle when they discovered she was an undocumented resident.

Maribel Nava Alvarez (inset) claims she was threatened after winning a contest for a car like this one, a 1999 Corvette.

What's worse, she said, is that an SBS attorney allegedly threatened to alert authorities of her immigration status once he learned she intended to take her battle to court.
"I was very sad. I cried. ... My feelings were hurt because I was mocked," Alvarez, 22, said in her native Spanish on Wednesday. "It's unjust."

Despite La Ley's claims, Alvarez said she was never informed verbally or in print that she had to be U.S. citizen or legal resident to be eligible to win Mexican-American singer Juan Rivera's old car during the July 4, 2005, contest at the Plaza Garibaldi, 2600 S. California.

what i think will work is do what alot of people are talking about. hammer everybody and everywhere especially in 001,018 all churches, around aldermans offices, etc. yeah I know it will create revenu but in the long run, it will piss off so many fucking people who will complain to the powers that be that I actually think they will get rid of that stupid azz order than Starks came up with. be safe. where is fop and why don't they speak up for all of us publicly.

If we say we are not going to write tix's for Feb that may not be doable. But could probably get organized enough to not write tickets for 1 week, maybe even 1 day. I say lets pick a week, spread the word and get people to commit. My vote is for the week of Valentines Day, lets show the city how much we love them. All in favor??????

WASHINGTON -- Every American should have health care coverage within six years, Democratic Sen. Barack Obama said Thursday as he set an ambitious goal soon after jumping into the 2008 presidential race.

"The time has come for universal health care in America," Obama said at a conference of Families USA, a health care advocacy group.

"I am absolutely determined that by the end of the first term of the next president, we should have universal health care in this country," the Illinois senator said.
------------------------------------

Here it is folks! He said it!

Thanks to Roddo Haircut Blago, YOU the working man will now have to pay approx $1500 more a year for health care to pay for healthcare of the kids in Illinois who don't have it because their parents won't work and/or are illegals. That was a small blurb in the news recently in case you missed it.

In answer to the 1/25/07 09:43:25 am post...

In have 30 plus years on this job and thank God I will be gone shortly.

Gentlemen and Ladies on this once glorious job, take these words to heart from an old timer who loved this job.

Conditions on this job are getting deplorable and sadly it appears they are going to get worse.
The contract will be up soon, so now is the time to make OUR STATEMENT to our jerkoff mayor, one that will chill him to the bone with a show of unity he has never seen....

No tickets, movers or parkers for the month of Febuary...Let him and the alderjerks taste some of the bitter brew they have simmering for all these years. I truely believe a few sips from this cup should snap them back to a bit reality knowing we won't be lap dogs anymore to be shit on as they see fit.

This may be a difficult thing for us to do because a vast majority of us love what we do but the City has painted us in a corner, and the FOP, like Nero, just plays its fiddle while us and city burns.

You have to understand unfortunetly, that this is all the City knows, we must use force against force, and strength against strength.

Talks and and words will not work with them, nor will idle threats.

The City will use the tried and true tactic of divide and conquer, and why shouldn't they, it has worked in the past and they learned to play it like a virtuoso.

So, look into your hearts and ask yourself this question, how much more shit are we to swallow. The line in the sand must be drawn NOW..

NO MOVERS !! NO PARKERS !! NO IMPOUNDS!!

Cut off their precious revenue for a month and lets see how Richie Rich sells this precious nugget to the Olympic committee...

Febuary is African American month, lets make it a month we can celebrate for the ages.

The month we took back our dignity and showed the Emperor he will definetly need some new clothes.

Dorthy Brown may not be so anti-police herself, but look over her shoulder on TV and you will see Eugene Pincham.

Someone should clue in the fire fighter on this.

How in the hell did Donahue endorse The Invisible Man (Ward 13) saying he's a staunch supporter of cops!?!?

Maybe Donahue meant to type "Stay Puft" Marshmellow Man instead of "staunch." lmao

FOP INFORMATION......[my humble experience/opinion]

First of all, we all [should] know a little bit of knowledge is dangerous.

Here's another view, and I'm NOT pro FOP, but we should make an 'educated' decision and not believe what you read here just because SCC posts it. [sorry SCC]

This is an open post board, with few limitations. [see previous SCC very liberal rules for posting] Please use this site as intended...a sounding board for your opinions, greivances and input. NOT everything you read here is gospel.

{Please feel free to evaluate, investigate and castigate MY comments, IF necessary. That's what we are supposed to do, WE are the POLICE ! Like any investigation, gather 'facts' and make an educated decision}

Sorry, back to my original thought.

I spoke with FOP people. They indicated the vast majority of FOP members did NOT want an endorsement of Daley for mayor. [No brainer]
After looking at the alternatives and speaking with the other {cooperating} candidates, Dorothy Brown came across as fairly well spoken, educated and favorable in the first round. BUT a review of her web site [YOU check it out for yourself] indicates that she is NOT pro-police!!
So, given the above explanation, however brief, what would you [honestly] expect FOP to do?

They couldn't endorse Daley again.[ no-brainer] but Dorothy is not an endorsable candidate either, so they just remained neutral. NOT endorsing Daley sent the 'real' message, but just picking Dorothy who is NOT on our side simply don't make sense either.
So....when YOU go into that voting booth, vote YOUR conscience. FOP is merely providing guidance as far as their input is concerned.
[My humble opinion...the ONLY people that looks out for us.......... IS US !!!]
Remember to continue to back up one another and remember that "Thin Blue Line"

C O W A R D S ! The F.O.P. is useless. Come on, lets get a real union like the teamsters.

1/25/2007 08:05:03 AM

To the person who keeps posting that the Teamsters are a good Union for Law enforcement you are uneducated about this Union. They are a truckers union and represent a small portion of police... They care only about thier truckers. That is their bread and butter, meaning they make them(teamsters) the most money! I have experience with Teamsters local 705 Truckers and 714 law enforcement. If you think the teamsters are such a good union just ask the cook county sheriff's deputies who are all worried about being layed off, I don't know about you but I haven't heard a peep out of the Teamsters in the media about this 1 and yes the represent those deputies. Learn before you speak you F N G !!!!!!!!

I have a most excellent idea, what would it be like without any POLICE on the streets. No one to blame brutality on except the gang member who raped your mother, sister, girlfriend, etc. You get the point, too many leftist in the world thinking that only peace is needed to solve all of life's issues. What were headed for is civil disruption people. When we elect gang members to political office, you know, the ones that broke the LAWS are now making the LAWS, you have a major problem. Stick to your guns coppers watch each others backs, BLUE should always be thicker than Yellow!!

I wonder if it has anything to do with the amount we have to pay for our prescriptions, medical, tow bills for squads, uniforms (unlike the useless jag offs in the pretty red trucks that get a uniform allowance and it gets issued), over priced property, the favoritism towards minorities, the jag offs that run OPS, the taxes we pay that go towards city services that the ones that don't pay get, the Irish Dictator that has run our city and hates its police, I could probably go on for about 2 hours, but I think that sums up what it took those knuckleheads and the Fraternal Order of Pussys to finally figure out after all these years of blowin' that short Irish prick while they were screwing us.

TO the poster writing the extensive study on Dorothy Brown's speech impediments, I don't recall
the Mayor being a whizz at public speaking by a long shot. With all his blustering, blubbering, and red faced foolishness (referring to the Duffs, an Irish mob family) as "decent and hard working," who could ever vote for someone who would present this clan of bums as anything close to legitimate?

If you read my entire posting, I said I didnt care for any of the 3 stooges currently running as announced candidates, which would include the current mayor.

And, as an aside, I have never cast my vote for him in any election either.

I havent heard the third candidate speak but so far by the process of elimination either he or Patrick Fitzgerald will get my vote

Rogue cops (John Burge) gave the REAL police a bad name...
-------------------------
Here's a history lesson for you, dickhead. John Burge was the real police. The guys who claimed they were "interrogated" by John Burge had killed two Chicago police officers. The fact that they lived to see a trial just goes to show the restraint that was shown by the Detective Division. And, to what end? So that, before they could be excuted (as they should have been), a nitwit, bleeding heart governor overturns their death penalty. I hope Ryan rots in hell right alongside all of the goofs that he "saved" from their proper punishments.

If rugai or any other aldercreatures cannot do for you why endorse them? their power is fleeting! We need a revolt throw them all out and start new!

None of the CPD Police unions are endorsing anyone. Do you know why? Because no one running for Mayor is worth endorsing. There is not a canidate that I would want my name associated with. Also don't forget that although you might not endorse someone if you dont endorse Lil richards appoinant at least he wont hold that against you during the upcoming contract negotiations.

I have yet to receive the latest Law Enforcement for Rugai flyer, but I do not think that she deserves our support. Last election we were without a contract but she felt it was o.k. to vote herself a raise. It would have been nice to see her vote against the Alderman pay increase and be a little more vocal about settling police and fire contracts. One of Alderman Rugai’s new campaign promises is to put police cameras up at all of the parks in the ward. Most cops I speak to feel that these cameras are a waste and do very little. Just ask someone who is forced into running a POD mission. Any new or additional cameras that are requested by any alderman must be paid for by their ward and not the police department. It seems like the wards money could be better spent then on PODs. Let’s not forget that Alderman Rugai was handpicked/appointed by Mayor Daley and is just another part of the Machine. I hope that all the city workers in the 19th Ward, especially the police and firefighters vote against Rugai. It is time for a change and time to move away from Machine politics.

Daley won his first mayoral election thanks to the firefighters. He subsequently paid them back by treating them like indentured servants. "loyalty begets loyalty." To Daley loyalty is a one-way street.
45th ward alderman levar is no different. His attendance as a member of the police fire committee is a disgrace. attendance records can be obtained only by a FOIA request. why is that? aldermen are not held accountable.
levar will be the next politician to hand his "elected" office down to a relative, his son, if he is re-elected. Just as lipinski, steele, beavers, stroger, etc has before him. why are we such sheep? is it that we have to walk on eggshells out of fear of retribution? how did these elected officials become so powerful that the entire democratic process has been perverted to meet their needs at our expense?
we have to get back to the concept of "for and by the people."
we can only accomplish this by changing the current players by voting them out. They are bullies who use intimidation tactics to get their way. The only way that the majority receive any benefits from these aldermen is mere coincidence and for their self-preservation. They are not community minded, but selfish and self promoting, power hungry, narcissistic, greedy bottom dwellers. They do not serve the people, they serve themselves.
How can we teach our children any civics lessons when the process is so corrupt?

Somerville not what he seems? He's a State's Attorney, ran last time and is open and honest--at least for a politician. He donated his own time throughout the summer bringing a huge screen around to any block party that requested him for no charge. I don't know who Sheehan is, never heard of him, don't know what he stands for, nor who's backing him. Is Somerville married to a Black woman? Yep, and I don't care, all of my contact with him and his family has been good and positive. He has plans for our community, bringing businesses to our vacant lots. He keeps asking why should we have to go to Orland to shop? "Together we can do better." I'm for giving him a chance, he's got my vote as a 19th Ward resident. Rugai has done nothing with her tenure to deserve another chance.
