Checkerboard Chat Got OWNED

We have got to have the funniest readers in the world. A little more than a week ago, someone put one over on us, writing a secret message in a comment stating "RIP Anna Nicole" in a thread for Officer Vazquez. Although humorous, we deleted it because that thread was for Officer Vazquez. But we appreciated the humor and congratulated whoever it was for getting one by us.

It has been topped and in doing so, they have PUNKED and OWNED the Superintendent's office. Edward Nigma (E.Nigma - the Riddler from Batman) posted the following comment in the Monthly Department Commendation Ceremony thread:
  • Thank goodness there are people there to
honor our brothers and sisters in blue.
is there ever a time it shouldn't be done?
send us more good police officers.
    send us more elite units.
i for one would welcome them
    to the community I think
    everyone would. And it
    isn't a matter of good p.r.
save your thoughts on that, instead
put your faith in the many beat
cars on the street. Believe me, the
boys in blue are more than welcome, the more
    units the better. I say
let us give thanks to the officers and
love to their families. The more
support we gather the better. Lets
have a show of support for the
intriquite workings of the CPD. Lets
thank them for their hard work. Bravo.
And if you read the bold letters straight down, you come up with "This site is PC Bullshit." Amazing. Our hat is off to whomever dreamed this one up and got it on the site. We hereby promote you to "Seiser of the Month."

Whoever published it, cross referenced it to our comment section for recognition and we're sure that it's going to be deleted this morning as soon as some little humorless crybaby goes whining to the Superintendent's people. We have preserved it here so everyone can see it before they take it down over there. In the meantime, that is a truly hilarious bit of creativity. Good job. Everyone else ought to try to get a little bit like this published on the "official" site - anagrams, word play, etc.

UPDATE: Still up as of 0645 hours this morning.

UPDATE: Down this afternoon - fun while it lasted. Anyone down at 35th Street get the lowdown on who missed the hidden message?

The budget cuts hit the State's Attorney Office last week. And of course, some competent, highly skilled and pro police ASA were fired. I guess Dick Devine forgot that he has an ASA in Br 42 that has 50 years of service, which we are greatful for, but would have been a great canidate to cut due to budgetary restraints. Also in Br 42...ASA Loftus, I bet you wish you hadn't run for Judge. I wonder if that is why they let you go? And lastly, my favorite ASA in Br 42. ASA Lovelace was let go too. She is/was the most qualified, competent ASA in Br 42. Very pro police, an advocate for the citizens of Crook County and made herself available should you have legal questions or in need of advice.

CAN YOU HELP?

E-mail State’s Attorney Devine at stateattorney@cookcountygov.com and First Assistant Bob Milan at KDalca@cookcountygov.com asking for the reinstatement of ASA Lovelace.

Thanks and stay safe

The "official cpd blog" is the biggest bullshit propoganda site one could imagaine. It is even worse than "Crimewatch."

Just visit it once and you'll laugh your ass off at the comments. Or should I say comment as each threat only has one or two comments that they publish.

I tried posting a comment about how CPD needs to buy equipment (new pdt's, shotguns, rifles, tasers, etc) due to us not having what we need in the streets.

Big surprise it didn't make the comment section!

A note to the local media.....

Would you please run a story on how the city is too cheap to buy us the equipment the suburbs has (computers in cars, shotguns, tasers, etc)?

Most coppers dont even get a computer in the car on a daily basis which means we CANNOT do our job properly.

It seems embarrasing the city in public is the only way of shaming them into getting what we need.

Thank you.

In a rare ruling, a federal judge on Thursday ordered Mayor Richard Daley to answer questions under oath about whether he or others permitted Chicago police to physically abuse suspects in the 1980s.

Lawyers for pardoned Death Row inmate Madison Hobley had fought for two years to take the deposition of Daley, who was Cook County state's attorney at the time of Hobley's arrest in 1987.

Be careful you dont committ perjury now Daley. We all know you don't lie!!

This is a story about a great cop I
that I had the pleasure of meeting.
Tom is the name we will call him
cause he would was a leader in the
30n lasalle area. He grew up on the
best side of town(North side) and
nothing ever got in his way of
stomping out crime on his block.
Gipper was a nickname and it fit.
Staying out late was not what
Ruby( his sister) would allow and
hell would be unleashed if he did.
The other kids in the area were
Fahey's boy and were very morally
fragile due to their dad leaving.
Hope was always inside them and
dope was never allowed near them.
Day after day Tom saw the good
his father instilled in him and
hats off to him for being a dad.
Tippy(the dog) was stolen which
started a string of crimes. Police
Cpt. Daley talked to Tom and showed
strength in his words. "Parents who
stike kids are weak" Tom assumed.
Lucy (his neighbor) followed Tom's
unknown journey into crimefighting
Just good morals is all it took for
today to beacome a reality" Tom
stated at the police graduation
day. His mooto in life was simple

Sorry for the off topic, but I heard that the Supt. has ordered about 15 sergeants and 50 PO's from HQ's for some new TRU BS. That figures after 27 years I finally get to relax a little and I'll probably be the first out the door. Hoepfully, FOP will insist on reverse seniority. In the unit I'm in there are 15 young ladies not one with more than 7 years on the job.

Anyone have any info?

Off Topic:
This is "what if" type question:
Does the next superintendant need to have a ton of police experience?
Wouldn't an important thing be the ability to recognize good police experience and use the power of the superintendant position to put VERY experienced leaders in chief, ADS, and Commander positions? Then use the power of the sup's position to back those strong leaders, as well as run interference for all the politcal buulshit.Shouldn't the next sup be focused on empowering the bleeding edge of the city's authority(aka Beat Cop) to solve every issue that affects the citizens of Chicago?
Beat cops serve and protect the citizens of Chicago, if your not directly involved in protecting the tax paying citizens, then your job is to serve and protect the people who do protect citizens.
Every boss should come to work every day and ask themselves "What can I do to make the cops who have the most contact with the citizens better?""What can I do to help them?" Beat cops work for the citizens, Sgt's work for the the beat cop, Lt's work for the Sgt's, Capt's work for the Lt's, etc, etc..

Now I need to get another drink.......

Most coppers dont even get a computer in the car on a daily basis which means we CANNOT do our job properly.

WTF kid... The job was done properly for years without those computers. There are TOO many officers out there with this attitude. "I run 1000 plates on that thing a night" (applause) we’re all impressed! What about the "Old School" guys who got hot cars all the time? That computer isn’t going to tell you which one of the mutts on the corner has the pistol, or where they hid the dope. Granted it is a good tool, but to say..."we CANNOT do our job properly." Learn how to do "Police work" first, and then enhance it with that thing that blocks the coffee holder! But WTF do I know...Thank God I was taught by a dying breed!
