Blast From the Past

  • An Old Town restaurateur and convicted felon was sentenced Thursday to 3 years in prison for dodging taxes.

Frank Milito, whose friendship led to the resignation of former Chicago Police Supt. Matt Rodriguez, told U.S. District Judge Harry Leinenweber he was "very sorry for my sins" before he was sentenced. He pleaded guilty in January to paying employees in cash to avoid Social Security and Medicare taxes.
Ah, the simple days when merely consorting with known mafia figures could bring down a Superintendent.

I've known Frank Molito for over 20 years. He was always a good guy. I never knew of any criminal activity on his part.

There's always certain mean-spirited people that just like to jump on a guy when he's down.

Ray Risley and "Wacky Gene" will have nothing to state regarding this development.

Wayne Johnson is not holding a press conference.

Bill Callahan is not preening before a camera.

Why?

Because none of the above wish to have any attention brought to their current associates!

Why?

If Risley and Callahan had anything to do with the stories in the media that led to Rodriguez's departure they should be ashamed of themselves.

Rodriguez promoted them and if they had any complaints about his behaviour it should not of been leaked to the media.

Those that throw stones should look in the mirror and hope that they are not thrown in their direction.

If they were involved, shame on them.

It's hard to believe that the moron who made the comment wondering why Rodriguez wasn't indicted for 'being with a felon" is actually a police officer.

What an ill informed ignorant fool.
You supposedly enforce the law, maybe you should read it first.

And then you whine it's because he wore a white shirt. God help us if a stupid dunce like you ever wears one.

Find it @ the local bookstore and flip through it. I was disappointed, especially toward the end -- No stories/profiles about the fallen.

The beginning was interesting, with the old pics.

But it should have been more personable...stories from the families (if they choose to speak), former partners, etc.

Pierre Zonis was a friend of Frank Milito and a damn good cop and straight up good guy. Don't always believe everything you read, especially if its printed in a Chicago newspaper.

Has a lot of good old pictures. I found some of the stories to be inaccurate, as I had direct involvement in them while on the job. Got the book as a recent retirement gift---dont think I would have bought it on my own.

Rodriguiez brought his women down on fridays, and the wife on Saturdays. Bada- Bing has great tail every night. Get some standards, or get off the job, you want to be gangsters.
