Time to Move Monique
This woman is just incompetent.
First up, she looks bad on camera. A number of people have commented on the flop sweat and the first thing we thought when we saw the news was, "Damn, who's the forehead?" She just gives out the aura of someone completely ill-at-ease in front of the cameras.

As the first portion of the paragraph isn't in quotes, yet is attributed to Bond, we can only imagine what garbled statement actually came out of her mouth. Doesn't Pat Camdem leave some cue cards lying around for Monique to crib some words that might make a quotable statement a reality? Maybe he should.

What should be said is that "The offender disregarded verbal direction and when she attempted to reload her weapon to continue the felonious assault/attempted murder of three Chicago Police Officers, she was fatally wounded." The officers didn't try to restrain her from firing - they attempted (and succeeded) in neutralizing a threat on their lives.
Wait for the civil suits - Monique's nonsense is going to come back to bite the taxpayers in the ass.

I've worked with Camden for many years, rather you like him or not
he has never given the media a rock to throw at a P.O. for what ever the siuation might have been.
Unfortunately Monique the political appointee who has no knowledge of law enforcement and less knowledge of The CPD stands before the media as if she just left working at a $1.00 whore house on a 2 for 1 day.
I would take my chances with Camden talking too and with the media anyday of the week . Monique is a spoiled, power hungry, inept micro manager. Her priority is to get face time with the media to establish that she is the one and only person of knowledge in the department. She makes no secret about how she feel about the rank and file membership of CPD. Trut me you are collateral damage and exspendible. I thought I heard her say on one of the news channels that the female was "recharging" her shotgun. She quickly corrected herself and said reloading. Wait until something she says is subpoenaed for a civil trial when she gives out inaccurate information and the coppers get jammed up because of it. Please get rid of her!

Your post had the most information about Monique compared to the others, and you do provide a lot of good details. So I will assume you know her, or somebody that works with her, or works in close proximity to her.
So I ask you this, who is her clout?
Who put her here?
Who does she complain to?
I'd love to know, and then maybe we could start an E-mail campaign to her clout, to get her removed.
Even if it is the King himself....heck, he can't fire me, and he can't move from where I am at - so I'd do it. Somebody has to know that the rank and file do not care for her.

SOS was a good unit until a certain boss let rougue officers act as robin hood and his merry men. As the old saying goes, coppers are their own worst enemy. They ruined the unit now everyone will pay the price. Many indictments to come but bosses escape the blame.

C'Mon.... you CANNOT seriously think that "Cover Up Camden" does a better job at reporting on/representing the CPD, can you??? He's a doofus with a perma-tan who is about as reputable as snake oil salesman. The department should actually outsource public relations and media representation to some professional PR company rather than use a weasel like him.
This reminds me of the time when an offender wrestled a gun away from a detective in Area 1 while being interviewed and was subsequently shot. The then news director (can't remember her name Lori something) said she'd do the interview (for the 2200 breakin). Several of the bosses told her they'd do it (none of the bosses present were media hounds, but knew the potential problems). They were overruled, the interview and the 10 oclock newsbite showed the Director of News affairs saying " a man was being interrogated by Detectives and during the course of the interrogation he was shot and killed". Get rid of these goofs that think they are so slick and don't know their ass from a hole in the ground.

No, what is being heard, even in SOS is that it WILL be disbanded, absorbed, call it what you will, by TRU; swat and the sort cars, light truck will remain as is but fall under them. What did you expect to happen? walk into court and state where you work when sworn in and watch where the case goes, thank JF and company, there really is no alternative.....a SOS guy

Personally, I have found Camden to be quite helpful. He frequently steers the media away from asking questions that could potentially embarrass us. He quite knowledgable, and knows the media game quite well. Yes, he does wear that permanent tan, but so do a lt of other media people, and he is a MEDIA PERSON, he's just OUR media person. Bond isn't bad, but I think Camden handles the dicey stuff better than she does. We CAN do worse in news affairs, and we HAVE. Remember the young guy who got pulled over for DUI? Camden has NEVER embarrassed us, or the JOB. I'd keep him around as long as he can maintain his current level of professionalism, and wanted to do it. And I know for a fact he's been on camera for some incidents that would make of gag and run for cover!
