Jesse and Phleger once again demonstrate their irrelevance and complete ignorance of guns. Their entire act consists of "Eek! Guns bad!"
- Rev. Jesse Jackson and three busloads of supporters marched on a Lake Barrington gun manufacturer today, calling on the suburban community to vote the business out of town.
"Chicago is voted gun dry," Jackson said. "We want [Lake] Barrington to vote gun dry."
A lawyer for the company rebuts:
- D.S. Arms does not sell firearms to the public, said Michael Danworth, a lawyer who represents the company. He said it's a law-abiding company that has about 20 clients, including law-enforcement and military distributors.
Danworth said it's a culture of violence that's the problem, not guns.
To Jackson's charge that assault rifles manufactured at D.S. Arms end up on the streets illegally, Danworth said, "The firearms used in most homicides in Chicago are pistols. You don't see too many gangbangers on the South Side carrying rifles in their pants."
Why isn't this roadshow protesting Bryco (Jennings)? Or Lorcin? Or one of the myriad of other manufacturer that turn out cheap guns by the bushel? The gangbangers aren't running around with rifles worth a few hundred bucks.

"Alleged Civil Rights Activists" doing their damndest to deny people their constitutional rights. Someone should file a civil rights suit against these clowns for deprivation of the 2nd Amendment while attempting to enter one of these premises and being blocked and scared away.

Ways to show your support for the Second Amendment
As you know by now, the Reverend Jesse Jackson, with assistance from some anti-gun organizations, continues his misguided attack on your right to keep and bear arms on Tuesday, August 28, with some protests in selected cities in the United States. Jackson has called for events in 25 cities, it looks like there might be about 15, including two in Illinois.
In Springfield, the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence is going to stage a protest about the Virginia Tech massacre by lying on the ground. This in spite of the fact that in the months since the event, Federal and State legislation has been passed that would prevent a mentally unbalanced person, like the shooter in the VT incident, from buying a gun.
In the Chicago region, Rev. Jackson and Fr. Michael Pfleger are going to protest in front of DS Arms in the Barrington area. There is no connection from top shelf rifles made for the law enforcement and civilian markets to criminal activity in Chicago.
In past activity this summer, ISRA has called for counter-protesters. In hindsight, ISRA has seen that liberal media air time of Jackson's protests is greater when there is a perceived conflict. This could work in favor of Jackson and his agenda to take away your right to own firearms. Realizing this, ISRA has not called for counter-protesters since then. When no one shows up to oppose Jackson and Pfleger, the story does not play for long in the press, if at all. For Tuesday, August 28, ISRA is asking you to show your support for the right to keep and bear arms in one or more of the following ways:
1. Be the Voice of the People: Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper in support of the right to keep and bear arms.
2. Support your local gun shop: Visit your favorite store on your lunch break or after work and make a purchase.
3. Exercise your rights: Visit your local range after work, sharpen your skills and your resolve.
Be safe out there.

As a police officer and you wish to purchase from DS guns you cannot walkin and buy, you will jump the hoops. I have delt with DS and they are a top notch company following the every single letter of the law and ATF regs. The ones who are protesting this company should take a look at themselves and what kind of role modles they are in the community. Jesse selling booze in every ghetto making millions keeping his down and locked with alcohism. Father Pheger or whatever his name is how many kids will be scarred alot longer from those quite rapings by ungodly preist then any gun manufactoring company or sales. The Second amendment should not be pissed on. If we give in it will show how weak we have become and that will only bring us more trouble from the real monster out there.

A DSArms FAL rifles cost well over a grand! These are great rifles and are used by professionals worldwide. In fact, if I recall correctly, when Jesse was in South Africa some years ago the local diverse population was about to kill him in a riot...He was saved when the white South African police came to his rescue, ARMED WITH FAL RIFLES!!! According to Sneed's column in the Chicago Sun-Times the search for the new superintendant is getting quite interesting. Looks like there is a significant chance that the new supremo of the Chicago Police Department will be an outsider. Even better Charles Ramsey is not interested. That's great because he would not have done anything significant to change the culture of the department.
Speaking of culture, the issue concerning a police officer who managed to return to mounted unit training after being forced out generated some very interesting responses. After reading some of the initial responses I believed that perhaps this was an example of clout at work. A apparent CPD mounted unit insider gave a detailed response that illuminated the issue and broadened my horizon. It has always been said there are two sides to a story. According to insider's response, the booted police officer was quite courageous and showed considerable spirit in fighting an unjust instructor who basically attempted to boot them out by imposing standards that others were not held to and forcing the officer to master riding particularly difficult horses that even seasoned members of the unit never ride. Kudos to that officer and thanks for displaying true integrity and grit.
Regarding the Jesse and Mike show, I have never seen too many inner city hoodlums armed with DS Arms FAL semi-auto rifles. If that trend begins, I think all law enforcement professionals in the area should prepare for the worst drama that has ever been seen in Northern Illinois. I may have to upgrade from the snubbie I carry on my ankle. I keep my Glock locked in my office safe unless I am preparing to hit the streets. DS Arms are available for purchase by civilians and advertised as such in many gun magazines. It is a good thing, that the majority of high powered semi auto FAL rifles, Barrett 50's etc. are purchased by survivalists, far right wingers, and guys who live at home in mom's basement. You know the type, pallid, pot belly, Lionel train set, never had a girlfriend, and really into World War Two trivia.
SCC you were correct! Reverends Jesse and Mike were barking up the wrong tree by visiting DS arms. They could utilize their incredible amount of energy and righteous indignation initiating locally developed and funded community programs that will address violence on Chicago's South and West side. If they want to truly make a substantial impact, they can commit their constituents to a goal of a measurable and significant drop in violent crime and narcotics sales, tangible community clean up programs employing local youth using only local church and local businesses to fund the same, with absolutely no tax dollars involved.
No community ever became a clean livable place without active resident participation. If you ever want to see a strong dynamic community look at Korean Americans in the USA. The majority of their businesses are self funded, they value education over sports and music, and except for the Virginia shooter they are seldom involved in violent crimes.
Black Americans have an economic clout and numerical advantage that would enable progressive change in their communities without boring protest marches, tax dollars being appropriated, and affirmative action. Go for it!

Actually their rifles are quite pricey. Most cops would whine about paying $1500 for a weapon. The day they start using rifles on the street is the day you will see the bodies pile up.

I'll bet the PD in Lake Barrington had a melt down when they saw these buses rolling into town. BTW, I wonder what the murder rate and number of shootings are there. Has more to do with the diamond, Mercedes-logo ring, encrusted fingers wrapped around that gun.

There was one homicide in chicago in area 1 last year with an assault weapon. The weapon was stollen from a Police Department or some other Govn. agency in Mississipi.

WHY SHOULD THEY BE PROTESTING AGAINST ANY MANUFACTURE? IN A FREE MARKET DEMAND DETERMINES SUPPLY. I AGREE THOSE ARE CHEAP GARBAGE MANUFACTURES AND I WOULD NEVER PURCHASE ONE BUT THE COMPANIES HAVE A LEGAL RIGHT TO PRODUCE THEM IN THE USA.

Our point wasn't that Jesse and Phleger shouldn't be protesting. It is every American's guaranteed right to protest anything they want, even when the subject of their protest flies in the face of logic, law and reason.
Our point was that they were protesting a gun manufacturer that as far as we've heard, has maybe 20 total clients, all military or law enforcement oriented who don't leave $1,000 rifles lying around to be used in killings in Chicago. If they want to protest, they ought to be out doing it at the gun manufacturers who cold stamp cheap semi-autos and Saturday Night Specials that you can buy for $100 in a back alley.
We'd still call them idiots for protesting a legal product, but they have the right to be idiots. This protest is just a knee jerk reaction to the "Eek! Guns bad!" argument supported by gun grabbers and Brady supporters.

By the way, Flogger was supposed to be replaced at St. Sabina a couple years ago, just like the head of any parish is rotated out after serving a certain number of years. I totally agree, that is why I am 100% for police-it-yourself. No more help, no more aid, no more free food, housing, rewards for bringing your kid to school. No more blaming the police for poor parenting. No more police in the gang infested area. Keep the police where we want them and need them. In my nice neighborhood that has every unit off in some strange area miles from here, where people could careless about themselves anyway. Let the (sorry SCC can't think of a nice metaphor) take care of themselves. Sooner or later they will learn to wake up and will be forced to change. I am not a cop, just an aggravated Chicago homeowner, sick and tired with all the freebies and help and policing we give these people that basically shit in our face in return. Let Jesse police them.
You know what? If I lived in a gang infested area with my children I would work 3 jobs to get out of there. I would pick up and leave, move anywhere that was safer. Because I would care about the welfare of my kids. These people don't care about anything but the 1st of the month, when they get all their perks.
