Sigh

  • The FBI on Friday would only say that they have a description of the suspect, and they're looking for him in what they call a fairly routine bank robbery investigation. But to neighborhood residents, Thursday was anything but routine.
  • "I just think my tax dollars weren't working properly yesterday," said Kyle Malave. "They must have had 150 some odd cars here yesterday, and plus their multimillion-dollar squad whatever it is, and what's the results -- nothing, right?"
  • Neighborhood residents like Malave were asking how the suspect could just disappear despite the overwhelming and seemingly smothering police presence
This is why R&D has to perfect the instantaneous transporter device ASAP. So whiny little persons like Kyle Malave can feel that their tax dollars aren't being wasted. Hey Kyle! It's the City of Chicago. Tax dollars are wasted so often that the closer you get to City Hall, the ambient noise actually resembles a toilet flushing. The same phenomenon occurs at the Department of Transportation, Streets and San, various parking garages, airports and anywhere near aldercreature offices.

But the one place we could use a bunch more funding would be in public safety spending so we could actually get working computers, squad cars and a 21st century radio system.

Kyle Malave? Who is this guy anyway. Oh, let me guess. A person who doesn't have nothing better to do but bum around and doesn't even pay taxes. Why? because he was there, on site than being on a job what he is supposed to do and pay his taxes like all of us do.

Like all Dist's the problem lies in lack of actual manpower. This time we were fortunate no
one was killed.

If this was a serious organized crew the first 2 responders would be DEAD ,probably by a spotter or the getaway driver.

In the confusion the same fate would befall the additional 2-3 officers either by the gunmen coming out and shooting them in the mayhem or again by the original shooter.

The fact that we have all this "G.I. JOE' crimefighting gear isn't even relevant. The time this all would have taken would be less than 5 minutes.

The solution is very simple,if those first 2 responders are 10-4 units, they increase their likelyhood to survive or capture the bad guys.

Could someone in the Dept PLEASE stand up and help,we have beeen so lucky for so long.

Part of being a exempt or even a street supv is the ability to LEAD,and see that the status que needs an adjustment. It's not hard to see, since the retirement of Mauer no one seems to be able to think outside the box or with a script.

All it takes is ONE BOSS with those qualities,so that one day we can look back on a intense situation and laugh about it and say "can you imagine what would have happened 5 yrs ago."

But the question is, did he say anything that wasn't true? All these SWAT guys running around playing GI Joe, a Superintendent who has a hard time mastering the English language, a Command Staff that's afraid to send anybody in. Then there was a SWAT guy wearing a booney hat just like they do in the Army. I was praying he was an FBI agent, but no, he was CPD.
Little boys with toys.

Tie up the community for hours. What a complete waste of time and money. If the first responding beat car had gone in and handled it right from the get go, none of this would have happened.

That whining little bitch would be the first one to complain about police brutality if the offender was there and any amount of force was used to apprehend him.

Was listening to the zone when the initial call from the bank was put out. The 1st cars on the scene did the right thing and called for Supervisor who initiated a plan. The bank building was surrounded on the ground and covered by air but the bad guy made a quick exit right from the start. The bank employees all ran for cover inside the building and it appeared that they were being held hostage. it was an unusual situation but all ended well.

It still does amaze me how these major networks working the scene always seem to interview some idiot
who belongs on Jerry Springer show.

The great thing if you were listening to CW6 was an hour after the call came out the Swat Team got on the air and said they were a half hour away and coming from Joliet. Talk about a quick response. The cameras the CPD helicopter used was useless. Get better pictures with a cell phone camera. We are really prepared. Please let me retire before a terrorist attack hits Chicago, because with our department and technology, we are all FUCKED.

This isn't about north side vs. south side. This is why the city walks all over us boneheads. The day we realize that we as a whole are getting jacked around in relation to
1.inferior equipment
2.complete lack of adequate manpower
3.CONSISTENT DISCIPLINE
4.training in regards to REAL LIFE SITUATIONS.(how valuable would that footage be from that bank robbery)
5.RESPOSIBLE SUPERVISORS,not the trend of do as I say not as I do variety
6.THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT EVER!!!! An actual C.O.M.P.E.T.A.N.T. media spokesman or agency. We live in such a world of spin and disinformation that true professionals could defuse 2/3 of our controversies.
7.bring in an outsider at all costs for Sup,please it is essential the Dept needs an overhall, there is way too much RRRRRREV influence as well as that nepotism crap. How many P.O.'S still call each other by names ending in Y,and where their baseball hats backwards like in 7th grade.

You know, a lot of people complain about the residents of "ghetto" districts and how they view the police, try working in Rogers Park!! absolute bleeding heart liberals that complain about police harassing these fine young men selling dope, but then turn around and complain at CAPS meetings about how the police don't do anything about the narcotic sales.

From a copper who was there. The bad guy was long gone before the first beat car arrived. CPD did not know that until it was over. You have scared civilians running out of a bank that tell you there is a guy inside with a gun and hostages. What do you do? Treat it as such. Everyone from the district personnel to SWAT did a fine job. They did everything that was asked of them. If some fuckin yuppie doesnt like it who gives a shit. If he had family in there he might not have been so critical. It could have easily been a bad scene. The last thing we need to do is criticize each other, especially if you were not there and dont know the story. Dont jump to conclusions and dont fill in the blanks cause then you are no better than the media. I thank God CPD handled the scene and give great credit to all the bosses (this time) that basically told the FBI to take e hike. We all know what happens when they get involved (a clusterfuck). Stay safe and go home to your family. Thats the most important thing in the world. P.S. The guy in the booney hat was FBI stupid and who cares anyway.

After the circus was over, the investigation began, This revealed that the offender fled out the back door before the 024 Dist personnel arrived, The investigation also revealed that 024 District responded quickly and had both front and back door covered, but people running out told them that the offender was inside, ARMED and had others hostage, 024 then led many employees to safety, and secured the scene, and waited for HBT, and S.W.A.T from CPD and FBI. With the info provided from the employees fleeing the bank, the correct actions were taken.Nice job 024 you all acted professionally and heroic.

I hate Roger's Park Liberals, but the guy is "Kind of" right. It did look bad. You can't blame CPD though. Not our jurisdiction. The first responders did the right thing, and by all accounts, the bad guy was gone before or right as the first units arrived. THEN the supposed hostages came out and it all went to shit after that. Our SWAT team, at least they have gone in twice in the last 2 years and got the kill as opposed to the OLD HBT who never had a kill. Columbine has taught us something, but that something, we should be ashamed of. There is no more waiting and negotiating, go in and kill...but get personal liability insurance if you are the police.... Next, the FBI controls us in these situations. They didn't send their teams in and told our bosses what they wanted done. I wasn't their, but trust me, had swat gone in and no one was there, and thet threw in some gas and flash bangs, they would all be getting sued by the Roger's Park liberals and the other people in the bank and the reverends would have been on TV talking of brutality because the offender wasn't even there and they used that much force. Either way we lose. Nobody got hurt, especially our guys; that's a good day.

Be Safe...

THAT IS ANOTHER REASON I LIVE FOR THE 1ST AND 16TH, ONLY DO WHAT I HAVE TO DO! YEARS AGO (NOT MANY) WE DID MANY STREET STOPS, LOTS OF GOOD ARRESTS, TODAY WITH THE CHICK DALEY PUT IN AT OPS, AND HIS IAD RATS, WITH DALEY AT THE HELM YOU HAVE TO BE CRAZY TO OVER DO ANYTHING UNLESS IT IS YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD! I LIVE ON THE WEST END OF 009, AND WE HAVE SO FEW OFFICERS HERE, IT IS A SHAME! THE COMMANDER COULD CARELESS AS HE HAS A POLITICAL POWERHOUSE D-(BURKE) WHO IS HIS CHINAMAN AND HE KNOWS THAT HE CANNOT BE TOUCHED BY ANYONE AS HIS SPONSOR WILL BE UPSET! THE OFFICERS DO THE BEST THEY CAN WITH NO MANPOWER, INFERIOR EQUIPMENT, EXTREMELY POOR MANAGEMENT (CLOUT BABIES), BUT THE AREA IS FAST DEGRADING DO TO AN INEMP COMMAND STRUCTURE THAT PUTS HARD WORKING COPPERS IN THE ARES THAT HAVE ALREADY TURNED TO SHIT! BY NOT PATROLLING THE GOOD AREAS THEY SOON WILL BECOME SHIT ALSO!

Shut the F up you jerkoff. Were you there? How the fuck do you know what was done, or how it was handled? From the media, who everyone hates, but you believe when it's convenient? From some dumb ass onlooker who was pissed because his street was blocked? And one more thing to remember, those officers from 24? THEY ARE WEARING THE SAME UNIFORM AS YOU! Stop fucking criticising and second guessing each other, be happy no one ESPECIALLY THE POLICE were hurt. It's easy to lob cheap shots from 10,000 yards offshore while the troops are landing on the beach. You should be ashamed of yourself.
