According to the Chicago Police Department, so far this year there have been 27 police-involved shootings -- 12 of them fatal. Of the 27 police shootings, 10 involved persons 19 years old and under.
During that same period, 1,253 persons were shot by random civilian gunfire. Of that number, 410 victims were 19 years old and under. The total number of fatal shootings in this age group was 44. Also, four teenagers were bludgeoned, four were stabbed, one was burned to death and four others were killed by an unknown weapon.
Chicagoans like Patrice Brown's grandmother are begging authorities to do more.
"The police need to clean this block out," Darlene Brown said after the shooting. "These people are just rowdy. They walk down the street selling their drugs and shooting their guns; they just don't care."
How about an gesture of good faith on your parts since we've been the ones shit on recently? Turn over the shooters. We know that you know who did it. Turn over the gun. It's still out there. You know where it is and if you don't, you know someone who does. Then maybe we can have something to talk about.

I have an idea... let's put guys from FOP back in the BEAT CARS. The only person who truly came from a BEAT CAR was BD. Everyone else came from a unit - or worked the desk, prior to them becoming the FOP inside guys. My idea is have the FOP inside guys work a BEAT CAR once a wekk. Maybe than the FOP guys will understand what we are going through. Mark Donahue has not worked a BEAT CAR in over a DECADE.

Why is it that black life has little value unless the person is killed by a police officer?
There's no question that community activists will lead a protest after a police shooting. But where are these same activists when young people like Taniya Ross and Patrice Brown are shot by gun-toting thugs?
WOW!! I can't believe she wrote what all of us have been thinking and saying, This is the second time I have agreed with her on one of her articles. The first was when she defended Danny Delopez for arresting a thug drug dealer who ended up choking to death on drugs he had swallowed. The neighborhood of course said the police choked him to death, which was BS.
Whatever happened to the lawsuit to release the 662 Chicago Police officers with 10 or more civilian complaints filed against them?
When does the judge rule on it? Why is there nothing about this in the FOP/PBPA newsletters?

Chicago became a sanctuary city in March 2006 by an Executive Mayoral Order -- one of an estimated 32 across the country, including New York, Seattle and the oldest, (1979) Los Angeles.
According to Monique Bond, spokeswoman for Chicago Police Department, officers can only contact INS during the course of an investigation when an offender declares illegal immigration status.
"Under federal law, enforcement of immigration law rests with the INS and not with local police. Chicago Police do not stop-and-question, detain or arrest any person that is not suspected of committing a crime or based solely on the grounds that the person may be an illegal immigrant. Chicago Police provide police service to all persons in the City of Chicago, regardless of their citizenship status."

A simple computer check reveals why.
What there was was 1,253 Aggravated Battery by Handgun case reports (043A). Many of these cases are multiple victims and the City did not included Armed Robberies that involved the victim being shot.
They totally low balled the actual number of people shot in the City for this period of time. A conservative estimate is more like 1600+. And that doesn't include the 63 people shot by accidental means (usually a gang banger or thug).
Here's a radical solution:
Let's have Chicago's Black community AND the police definitively repudiate the criminals within their respective ranks.
Whenever some Black criminal gets killed doing something stupid, the Black community would sneer at anyone who tried to blame somebody else. The phrase "Robbing people and pointing guns at the police is dangerous." would be committed to everyone's memory.
Whenever some cop gets caught committing a crime, his fellow officers would NOT show him favoritism nor would they reflexively launch into Jesse-Jacksonesque rationalizations for why he shouldn't get fired or be charged with a felony.
Really, it's amazing how much the police and the reverends sound like each other, without either of them realizing it...
So the media finally writes a good article, but where is the TV coverage and "Top Story" discussing this dilemma?

Retired cop arrested with credit cards
A retired Chicago police officer was indicted Thursday on felony charges of possessing credit cards that did not belong to him, authorities said.
Robert Maloblocki, 52, was arrested last month during a traffic stop on the North Side when police found a dozen credit cards in his possession from cardholders who had "never given him permission to use [them]," said Andy Conklin, a spokesman for the Cook County state's attorney's office.
Maloblocki was stopped by police for a minor traffic violation in the 1600 block of West Irving Park Road on July 22, Conklin said. He showed police an identification card that indicated he was an active police officer, but he later said he was retired, authorities said.
Police searched his vehicle and found a briefcase in the trunk, Conklin said. In it, they found the 12 credit cards in various names.
Why does this story keep popping up in the paper? What probable cause did 019 have to search this guys trunk? This seems like a very weird one indeed.

We are having the same problems with the Iraqis. They are depending on us and refuse to help them selves. It is the same in the black neighborhood throughout this country. Perhaps if the neighbors step up to the plate without playing the blame game, other inclding the police will feel like there is some hope in helping to clean up the mess. So, here's one of those ideas and information you might or might not have knowledge of:
Local 726 Teamsters start their day (garbage pick up-OUR GARBAGE MEN) at 6:00 am. There are 300 trucks Average $85 in man power per truck from 6-7. BUT, their contract prohibts them from starting to pick-up work until 7 am. So, at $85 time 300 trucks ($25,500) per day, you do the math on how much money is being spent by the City each year. Just think if their contract gets renogiated in October the gap that will decrease in the City's budget hole.
That's why if you ever see garbage men lurking around your house or sleeping in their garbage trucks,or pissing on your fence as I caught one of them and all before 7am., You'll see for yourself. Must be nice!
But hey, God Forbid if we're late for fucking roll call-no matter where you live or traveling from to get to the gig.
SO HOW ABOUT IT MAYOR? HOW COULD YOUR THINK TANK SCAMMERS LEAVE THIS ONE OUT OF THE MIX. But hey, lets keep screwing with the Police Department's Pension Fund and Benefits - Prick!

I as a police officer and a former 008th dist. resident appoligize to you, for the lack of concern from a fellow officer. With 13 years on this job I feel guys like this should be behind a desk talking ignorant to the desk sgt. Instead all the fat 2 year wonder females are riding those spots. Local 726 Teamsters start their day (garbage pick up-OUR GARBAGE MEN) at 6:00 am. There are 300 trucks Average $85 in man power per truck from 6-7. BUT, their contract prohibts them from starting to pick-up work until 7 am. So, at $85 time 300 trucks ($25,500) per day, you do the math on how much money is being spent by the City each year. Just think if their contract gets renogiated in October the gap that will decrease in the City's budget hole.
That's why if you ever see garbage men lurking around your house or sleeping in their garbage trucks,or pissing on your fence as I caught one of them and all before 7am., You'll see for yourself. Must be nice!

I love the whole "Rogue Police Officers" and "Out of Control Police Brutality" shit they keep harping on. I'm 37 years old. When I was growing up, you feared the police. If you fucked up, you felt it. Maybe not from the handcuffs, but from the ass beating you took, before they took you home to your parents....who thanked the officer, then proceeded to kick your ass. The reason these animals (all races) are out of control now is because the do not respect the police. The only thing they respect is pain and mony. If we were aloud to once again inflict pain and take away their money o the profits of their drug businesses, they would once again fall in line. There used to be police brutality and still is in some cases. Most cases are justified and 99.5% are needed whether legal or not. Now the police are the ones who ar handcuffed. People who told the Chicago Police to fuck off when they arrived on the scene left in the back of the wagon and needed denture work or x-rays "after" they were released. They only did it once. Now, little fucking kids of 8 or 9 are yelling in coppers faces saying fuck off 5-0, suck my dick motherfucker, and such and nobody says boo. Bill Kugelman is the former President of Local 2,the Firefighters Union and is a true friend to law enforcement. He is also a very nice man with a big heart. Bill's son gave his life while on-duty as an Illinois State Trooper.

With all the spineless assholes that were annointed as "exempts" in the last forty years, I consider it an honor and privilege to have served under Commander George T. Sims, Jr. while assigned to the old 11th District ("Fillmo'") for three tears. I will always regard Sims as the the quintessential "greatest CPD boss" and a role model for all other bosses.
Sims, a proud black man who spent much of his career working the mean streets with his partner, the late James Bryson, was the real deal--fair; stand-up; able to relate to common beggars or kings and one class act.

I have been in mt greenwood for several years, and it amazes me 1. how fast this is going to poop and 2. how utterly blind longtime residents are to the fact that this is rapidly turning into a bad neighborhood. And don't give me the typical "move by pulaski and everything is ok" line....its only a few blocks from Kedzie, which is starting to look way too much like east of vincennes for my comfort. The 10 sector in 008 is home to alot of us and deserves more service than any of the high crime no tax paying areas like 011/007. However i'm not suprised considering what i hear at times on zone6 out of that 10 sector.

EUGENE WILLIAMS has done a very good job in a variety of positions.
ROTTNER has always provided fair, capable leadership.
AVILA in 014 is another example of good leadership.
THERE ARE OTHERS. Sometimes, the definition of a good boss is based upon how well the troops support the team too. I imagine it can be tough for any new boss to walk into a situation where the previous guy (or gal) has left the bar of performance well below acceptable standards. And we all know some of us don't like being called on the carpet for being less than productive, even when we've been previously warned that it was coming.

Lets hope that story is false! I don't work in 008 but when I get off work before i pull in garage I take a ride in my own car around MY NEIGHBORHOOD to see what is happening! A couple of times I called 008 the officers showed up pretty quick and took care of business! You have to remember the 30 sector for example in 008 is bigger than the whole 007 district but they have more police! Why simple really the mayor wants to try to show that he cares about people who do not pay taxes and live freely offof us that pay! MAYBE SOMEONE WHO RUNS TRU WHO HAS SOME BALLS (MOST LIKELY NO ONE) COULD ASSIGN UNITS TO LOCK UP THE JAGOOFS AND DO THIS FOR A FEW MONTHS TO SEND A MESSAGE TO THE PUNKS THIS IS OUR AREA GO BACK TO WHATEVER SCUM AREA YOU CAME FROM AND DO THAT SHIT THERE HERE YOU WILL GET YOUR ASS BEAT AND LOCKED UP!

Take a look at the wall in 025. Curtin. They should put his picture on the targets at the range downstairs to improve marksmanship. I may not be the best shot on the job but I could unload a full clip of perfect head shots from 25 yards out on that piece of s#it.
