We thought "SOS" would be a catchy abbreviation - and by coincidence, it happens to be available for some reason right now.

Don't think the Mayor and Dana Starks are protecting the P.O.'s as they fight tooth and nail against releasing the name.
The real reason they don't want this list to be released is due to several EXEMPT MEMBERS and other lower heavy supervisor being on this list. Most of the C.R.'s against the Exempts range from sexual harassment to confidential CR's for missing cash funds they are directly responsible for.
So as much as I like the fact they are sticking up for the working police, their real reason for support once again is to protect their asses.

Your list of alderthings is right on, but you also have to include all those alderthings that vote for and support Daley's agenda. He couldn't do it without them. I would just like once for an alderthing in a ward with a large police population to come out and say on TV and the radio and in the paper, "I support the police, they do a great job, and Daley should leave them alone." These aldethings are even bigger tools because they ask for our votes then don't do a a damn thing to support us.
You also have to include Madigan. He has single handedly hurt done more to hurt the police than any other politician because he has not allowed bills that would help us to pass or be called.

Chicago use to have two aldermen per ward, 100 part time ward healers.
There should be a cop, or retired cop running against every alderman, and then they would fear us.
Why are illegals more important to the politicians than their police.
Why is Chicago a “sanctuary city” for illegal aliens? Because the illegals can raise a demonstration crowd of 50,000+ and tie up the city. The illegals can build with cheap labor and fill-up all the Section 8 housing the connected developer/campaign contributors.
Why are the gangs more important to politicians than their police. Because the gangs can control votes and get them money.
If we could raise a large crowd and demonstrate and tie up the city, the politicians would fear us. Then we could get what we want. But that would require guts on the part of FOP and PBPA.

Just call it for what it is. You, as a Police Officer, are GUILTY until you can prove yourself innocent. (Like you will be believed) If you have no clout you are guilty even if you are innocent. If a reverend accuses you you are guilty even if God can prove you are innocent. If it makes the news you are GUILTY and we do not care if you can prove you are innocent.

I would say you're partly correct. a few exempt members are likely to have more than a few beefs mostly regarding sexual abuse of their position. Everyone knows who they are. But by and large, most of the officers on the beef list wear blue shirts, and we should all know this too. I'm quite sure that should the list be released IN ITS ENTIRETY, the few white shirts and exempts who will appear on it are pretty close to retirement, which means they could tell the city to stuff it and run. Doubtful whether most of the blue shirts on the list will be in such a position. Who has the most to lose should the list be posted?
Everyone should know the answer to that now.
They should post OPS personnel with criminal backgrounds.

just to show what crap cr's are out there.... i got one...offender stated that while he was being arrested that i beat him up..stated that i was 6'0 200lb's dark hair, mustache, itailan MAN! I'm 5'8 130ls, blonde Irish female..no must. only had contact with offender when brought into station and he began too fight anyone in sight! I had a bad blk eye..went to hosp. for possible fractured cheek and jaw bone..CR# tossed, but GUESS who SUED and did get CASH??? ALL WHILE HE WAS IN PRISON!!!!!!! Know this list and who is in your district. If they or someone who says they represent or work for them calls in with some B.S. give them an earful. Take their complaint but give a stern, no swearing lecture on this, and medical benefits, Mike Mette and anything else. We had one guy who claimed to work for an alderman used to call in with crap he should call 9-1-1 or even 3-1-1 because he was to important. He had to listen to me rant a lot longer than I had to listen to him.

While it's understandable, this desire for fewer aldermice, if you think about it, fewer and larger wards, with fewer aldermice would mean:
1) A SMALLER number of aldermice would be needed to hand a blank check to Daley and associates. (an example: as it stands now, Daley needs 26 out of 50 aldermice to be rubber stamps. If we were to reduce the number of wards to, say, 25, Daley would only need 13 aldermice to be rubber stamps)
2) A LARGER number of citizens for each aldermouse to play off against each other, thus resulting in an easier splitting-the-votes-of-the-dissatisfied, in the primary and general elections. (and you can bet that the 'machine' will be controlling where the new boundaries of these larger and fewer wards will be)
3) A SMALLER circle of liars/lawyers/aldermice scheming to pick our collective pockets. (fewer aldermice would result in making it much more difficult for citizens to apply any significant leverage on their aldermouse, as individual groups of citizens would get lost in the crowd)
4) MUCH LESS accountability, (not there is much accountability now), as the fewer number of aldermice would circle the wagons with more unity of purpose, ie., kiss Daley's ass and receive your reward of machine support at election time.
5) Do we really want FEWER aldermice being paid MORE money for taking MORE of OUR money?
6) In politics, chaos is always better for the taxpayers than corrupted unity.
7) Daley would LOVE there to be NO ALDERMICE, as every dictator would.
For the citizens to have any influence on the actions of their elected representatives, whether city, county, state or federal, it is ALWAYS better to have FEWER citizens represented by a GREATER number of representatives.
