We noticed a number of comments trolling for info on the shooting Thursday night/Friday morning in the 011th District.
As IPRA isn't speaking to the news stations anymore and the Orange One has been muzzled along with Skeletor, it would seem that media types are going to ask around here and elsewhere for tidbits - like Frank Main does.
Well, we're going to see how silence works, too. No comments about the shooting. No linking to the newspaper reports. Let's see if providing no info to the play reverends works in our favor or theirs.
We've also seen a bunch of comments linking to a group of idiots who have been conducting some of the filming of cops at, near, around or drinking at bars and then driving, all off duty. The comments have appeared with such frequency, we are going to assume that one or more of the people is actually part of this practice and is looking to generate website traffic. A few of the comments are obviously by outraged cops, but the civilians are overwhelming the comment section with this nonsense.

read the papers today...I busted out laughing at the revs crying for info on the shooting. I personally want to see how long it takes before OPS caves in to her boss and the revs. I don't think it will take very long.
i really enjoy reading and commenting this blog but i'm affraid the information is being used by those who would harm us. far better to stand down for a while and let our inept enemies wither without the inside scoop gleaned from this site.

What I am seeing in this city are people acting crazy when Christmas is supposed to be next week. You can see officers in different neighborhoods busting their ass & weird situations. Please be safe out here and hope all is ok about thsi shooting.

FYI Please get this out there, however you see fit. The shooting was handled in Area 3 due to the specific circumstances of the shoot, which is not uncommon. However the Dick’s conducting the investigation did NOT run the round table, which is unheard of. The area lieutenant T.R., who is a good guy, conducted it and the Dick’s were kept out of the room. No explanation why but this is a very dangerous path that we are on.
What I don't understand is, how are the "reverends" driving Lexuses and Caddy's and higher end cars when the impoverished people of their communities are giving them their money? I smell bull shit. Don't "men of the cloth" take a vow of poverty? Oh, by the way, even I'm a reverend now. I went to the link for Universal Church of Life and Brother Kevin ordained me a "reverend". It's that easy....

Some of the things you post are hurtful to those the posts are about and nobody knows what mind set those who the comments are about are in. This blog has been a delight and has been our own enemy with everyone trying to put out information before anyone else without having all the right information or giving information that might jamm someone up.
We are not united as brothers and sisters anymore. We have adapted a way of survival, that in we don't trust each other and would rather talk shit about people and make clicks, how fucking high school is that.
I have been guilty of it myself, but only to make examples of new guys on this job, who think they know everything and talk like they have 20 yrs + on the street. But, when push comes to shove, they know nothing and jamm others or themselves.
Thank you, SCC for having the respect, that every cop on this job should have and that's to stop talking shit about people on this blog and giving these media fucks our world.
IE, The watch commander that was being stand up guy and helping coppers, while the media asshats were trying to get them jammed up.
It's great that he did that and word of mouth would have gotten around praising him, but putting the name, watch and the story of what he did on here would have done more damage then good, if it would have gone that way.
By that, you think your doing the right thing by bring it to our attention. But, we are not alone on this site and are fucking ourselves on a daily basis.
So, at the risk of repeating myself. Thank you, again SCC for doing this. We don't need to give the outsiders anymore of our world then they should have and already have taken.

Hey scc, did you see the burbs blog is taking a poll? They have agreed to shut their blog down if the majority votes. Question arises: did they create a place for coppers to turn on each other without having to stand behind their words. Thats what the scc blog is.
Have to agree- not a cop and I read the papers, and I'm an import to the community (not from Chicago). I found these code phrases to be interchangeable:
-getting his life turned around
-overcoming some tough choices
-learning to take/handle responsibility for himself
-putting his life on track
-regaining control over his environment
They generally mean the same as:
-he got caught, and paid the price for being stupid, a shame for his family, a parasite on his community and a detriment to his society.
As much as I wish people would speak straight, in some ethnic communities they simply cannot speak poorly of the dead. I agree though, that they cross the line when they castigate the ones who pared the parasites away to protect the rest of us.
