Bad News Again
- A Chicago police officer was arrested Saturday in suburban Forest Park and charged with four counts of aggravated battery, police said Sunday night.
The officer, who was off-duty at the time and not immediately identified, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery to a police officer and two counts of aggravated battery to a paramedic, said Chicago police spokeswoman Monique Bond. The officer remains in the custody of Forest Park police and has been relieved of his duties as a Chicago police officer, Bond said. - In a statement, new Chicago Police Supt. Jody Weis said, "The Chicago Police Department has zero tolerance for any officer who violates the professional integrity of this department"

Hey ass bag, I do believe all the newspaper stories on CPD officers fucking up have been officers with decent amounts of time on the job, IE 5+ years, so how about you quit it with the 1 year wonderkid shit.

The departmnet wants to show integrity and ethics. Is it it ethical to promote someone based on their last name? Does it show integrity to put someone in a good assignmnet because thay may pay you back down the road?

I don't know about the original incident and he may have been a victim of circumstance, but when you fight the police and medics on the scene then you're just another a-hole who's getting locked up.

This guy broke a table at a bar and was given a chance to pay for it to which he told the bar owner and the police to get fucked. He was given every chance to walk away from this. While in the station he went to hit a police officer and had to be tased. He then spit blood at the paramedics who were their to help him. Forest Park has always been great to other officers. Were are own worst enemy.
He must not be such a "good cop" if he cant stay out of trouble when off duty. Come on people. How often do you get locked up and charged with agg batt to po and ems. If he has a drinking problem, then it's time for him to go. We dont need any more po's who cant handle the booze. Better yet, stop drinking when you go out. Do the right thing, stay sober and conduct yourself properly. If you want a few pops, stay home. You shouldn't be drinking and driving anyway. As well he should be fired and prosecuted to the fullest extent. How would you see it if a suburban cop came into our city and hit one of us? Once again, another drunken incident tarnishing any dignity we have left.

First, let's give the guy his day in court before we convict him without a trial. Sounds a lot like the asshole jury pool we have, he's a copper, must be guilty, before hearing any evidence. The only difference is these findings of guilty I'm reading are coming from coppers. It's not bad enough the public convicts us before trial, we do it too each other? I reached out to a friend in Forest Park. Here's the long and short of it: stupid is drinking, breaks a few tables and chairs, owner calls 911. F.P. subdue this guy. Owner wants to be paid for the damage and all will go home. Stupid tells owner F/U and the F.P.P.D.
Stupid is arrested, fights the police in lockup, gets is dumb ass tased, spits blood into fire personnel faces and gets charged with agg. battery.

After the incident with the Commander from Cicero, I would advise any of you who are in the suburbs that has contact with the police not to say you are a cop; especially one from 007. The Capt. in question is not the problem either. The officer made his bed he is an adult. The question is what is the full story!!! Did they know he was the police beore, during, or after the confrontaion?

I didn't know that the ILCS had a law on the books that said there was a limit on how much you can drink. Is Anita reading from a new version of the Illinois Compiled Statutes that I didn't know got passed?
There is a LEGAL LIMIT to how much alcohol you can drink and operate a motor vehicle but I have never heard of this law that FOX 32 is referring to in this specific instance.
You guys better do your homework and make sure when you go out you are not above the legal limit regardless of if you aren't driving because you could be in violation, whatever that is.
Considering there is no allegation he was driving a car I have know idea what she is talking about and why it is at issue in this case.

Can somebody explain that? Is it becasue he goes to calls...? Would that not be part of the job? So, how does that make him good?
I do not know, in two years, he'd have to have done a HELL of a lot of stuff for me to call him good.
And the "he would be there to back you up on a 10-1" stuff really has to end. No shit..?? he would be there - WOW. That is his job, EVERYONE who is a cop should be there, and for the most part they are there. The ones who do not go - well that is what this little blog is good for - name them.

It's a crazy world we live in. What a total lack of respect he showed to himself, FP police, and our own department. His career is toast and he only has to blame himself. To the fuck faces taht blame the academy and his FTO's I have one question. Where is the spot on the PPO evaluation where you grade their off duty behavior? What is being a good cop in englewood anyway? You can drive with the back doors open and shitheads pratically jump in the car saying "take me to jail." I hate assholes that talk tough about working in a fucked up district. Why do you give the ghetto million dollar police service and leave our homes in 016 022 and 008 go to waste? And the complete morons that are saying support him and wait for his court date. Fuck that! He didn't get sandbagged by Stone Park PD. He is charged with 4 legit felony counts. One good young cop just made one really fucked up decision.
The kid comes in at the start of week 3 in 044 with a bunch of fresh stitches in his head and skinned up knuckles...handled internally. At star party, starts shit with classmate in a bar and knocks him out...covered for. Kicks out knee of another classmate...covered-up.
Anyone who knew him was not surprised by this episode. Here is the biggest bitch of it all...we ALL looked out for him (heads in the sand) so that we would honor the "thin blue line".
The kid has a big problem with the bottle and it's contents. Which, given his age, is more than alarming...it's sad.
Sooner or later everyone makes a mistake in life, nobody is perfect, and this job is tough on your body physically and mentally. We sacrifice quite a bit for a blue collar way of life. I work in 007 and I can't defend what this kid got himself into but I'm sure he's very remorseful and ashamed. You gotta know this kids hurting right now. I'm not saying to defend what happened, but c'mon do you have to make it worse by shit talking. I have been on long enough to see that plenty of people on this job enjoy seeing someone other then them make a terrible mistake or go through tough times. I guess it makes them feel better about themselves. Get over yourself, none of us are as perfect as we think we are. No ones asking you to defend what happened, but have some compassion. And for those of you shit talking the captain in 007 on this goofy site, get a set of balls, you cowards, and tell him what you think in person. Oh by the way, I'm K.G. 3rd watch.

There is nothing wrong with helping out a po but it is apparent that this officer has a drinking problem. Everyone blames his time on the job, the academy, his FTO's and the stigma attached to working in the 007th dist. Admiting to yourself that you have a drinking problem, at the same time being the police who is always in control, is the proabably one of the toughest thing to do. Usually, something that needs other people to point out. It is unfourtunate no one stepped up earlier to help him. It is obvious no one else out there cares about us so we have to look out for each other.
Hey, i've been f-ed up many times and only by the grace of g+d have i gotten home in one piece. I'm learning, but it's a work in progress.
I've gotten into fights at bars, and drove home when i didn't even know i did. I'm lucky. Now i have a little more time on and am getting into my 30's and realize that i have more to lose by doing these stupid things. These are things you don't realize when you're 25 and have the city at your fingertips. All i can say is thank you G*d for getting me and so many people on this dep't through those amazingly fun years without a cb#.
And although fighting the police and spitting on the paramedics is something we would never condone and would prob kick the guys ass for if it were us, we have to remember that he was not in his normal state of mind. He is most likely a nice person that just drank way much and acted way out of charachter and now will spend the rest of his life paying for that one stupid night.
Please, as much as we don't approve of his behavior on one single night, can we not at least wish the guy a good life and hope he rebounds from this.
I believe G*d has a plan for all of us and this poor kid is going to have to go through a lot of shame, but in some wierd way g*d is guiding his life and hopefully he will come out a better man.

You would think that with the political climate what it is now and with so many police careers going down the drain because of alcohol that cops would learn.
But no,the same drunken antics have been going on throughout my entire 25 year career. It just goes to prove what they have been saying in AA since 1935: no one is immune, alcohol is the great equalizer. It is a problem that tells you that you don't have a problem. from Park Place to the park bench, alcohol does the same to everyone no matter their station in life.
So officers, keep on drinking in bars and doing stupid things and then have hundreds of fellow officers post how "he was a good guy, he was a good copper." and have benefits for the legal defense etc.
Drink and drive and get caught and do dumb drunken shit in public while being the off duty police and you just might face the great alcohol smack down. No exceptions. Alcohol treats everyone equally. It is the only non-discriminatory thing about the police department.
I am not a big fan of zero tolerance.
I am a big fan of getting rid of problem children from police forces.
If it turns out he is a problem, boot him. If he can be rehabbed, that might be an option.

What you have here is a guy that apparently went out on his own and screwed up big time. It isn't the fault of the Academy, his FTO or his supervisors. If the prevailing accounts are true, it is all on him. Maybe if the stories about his behavior at his classes star party are true, one of them maybe should have mentioned it to someone. The problem with that is no one wants to take the resonsibility, and whoever might have been told would have simply disregarded it. I do find it amusing that so many of you take the unnamed Captain to task for letting him slide. I suspect that the attacks on the same Captain would have been venomous if he had earlier recognized a problem and taken the kind of action that might have been called for.
Some of you seem to be implying that lately the hiring practices have been allowing less than desireable individuals to come aboard. As a ret. P.O. my heart is heavy for the young officer from 007 who is in such a mess. There's been much change since I came on so many years ago. Some good some bad. But there was a time as an all male organization with many veterans from WW2 through Korea to Vietnam, that we worked hard, fought hard, drank hard and got nuts once in a while. Most of us out grew it, as we got older and some did not. But many of us and myself very much included did a major stupid or two along the way. I sincerely believe 25yrs ago this whole situation would have been handled differently. As for myself many years ago I received a major break for doing some very stupid stuff. Booze was a part of the problem I got myself in a jam. I was and always will be grateful for the chance to redeem myself and take control of my life and carrier from that point on. I became a working P.O. of good standing. I wasn't there and I can't speak for Forest Park P.D. but I can tell you this truth. I did as well as my comrades here in Chicago bailed out many a suburban copper who came into the city and did something stupid. Around 2000yrs ago there was one amongst us who when confronted by a group that accused a lady of doing wrong, responded "those among you without sin cast the first stone" You know, no one did.....in fact the oldest guys there left first. Maybe when you've been around a while you realize what a mess you are on some occasions. Lets hope our new Supt is bold and strong enough to overcome his desire to fill an agenda and show some mercy on this kid. He may find it goes a lot further than chopping heads off among the rank and file.

I don't know the guy, but if the above info is correct, he needed to be dumped while in the Academy. There were three warning signs that this guy was no good that went unanswered. The Academy is supposed to be a place where civilians are taught how to be coppers, and also to weed out those that shouldn't be. In that case it failed, and once again CPD's reputation is taking the hit.
And what is up with this "real police" bullshit anyway? The first asshat that I heard say that was Terry Gainer. I thought it was stupid then and reflected on the lack of character of the pompous goof.

I reached out to a friend in Forest Park. Here's the long and short of it: stupid is drinking, breaks a few tables and chairs, owner calls 911. F.P. subdue this guy. Owner wants to be paid for the damage and all will go home. Stupid tells owner F/U and the F.P.P.D.
Stupid is arrested, fights the police in lockup, gets is dumb ass tased, spits blood into fire personnel faces and gets charged with agg. battery.

He wasn't on duty responding to a call. He wasn't off-duty trying to take police action. He was drunk and he was stupid. He should be fired immediately. After twenty-two years on this job I have seen enough "DRUNKS" on this job who have been taken care of to fill Wrigley Field. I hope J-Fed fires everyone of them and cleans up this department. I don't know the facts of the case, but now that the word is out it's just another headline giving us all a bad name, yes even the ones who locked him up.
