A pedestrian was allegedly trying to ditch a cab fare when they were hit by a vehicle driven by a 20-year-old female motorist on the South Side Friday morning.
About 9:30 a.m. a 20-year-old female motorist struck a pedestrian, near the intersection of West 51st Street and South Shields Avenue, according to police.
The pedestrian, who was allegedly trying to get out of paying for a cab when they were hit, was not seriously injured, according to officials.
It was unknown at 10 a.m. whether the pedestrian was hospitalized or if the motorist would be cited.

That movie is absolutely terrible, but the car chase is awesome. The cast exhibited some of the worst acting since Keanu Reeves' performance of the The Devils Advocate. A really good cop movie that came out on DVD recently is "Gone Baby Gone."

I heard the same thing yesterday. I'm sure there will be some bashing, but I worked for him for three months and thought he was a gentleman, he was big on offering training, tried to motivate his troops, complemented them when they did good, as well as discipline when they did wrong, didn't appear to hold grudges, and genuinely cared about his people. So Capt Ted, good luck and hope all goes well for you.

I find it very interesting that Old Man Stroger had ONE longtime press secretary who worked 24/7, was accessible to the press day and night, while on vacations and during personal family events. She did her job which was to answer any and all questions for public consumption. The press hounded her constantly but she always responded and was accountable to all. So, it is puzzling to me that Toddler is hiring Gene Mullins while retaining Andre Garner and that Mullins will (according to the Scumtimes) SUPERVISE Chinta Strausberg (a mutt of a woman) who is now a "liasion to churches" and never said a word when she was press secretary. PLUS, Sean Howard who is a "hospital spokesman." If my math is correct, that is now four people doing the job that one person used to do, all collecting six figures and the lot of them combined give out less information than the first press secretary. AND even more puzzling is that the press tolerates it. I'm sure John Stroger's former press secretary must be thinking she could have worked a lot less and still got paid the same amount of money. A pitiful turn of events. Just pitiful. And he gets away with it.
Having a clear conscience is the way to go on this job and throughout life.

Peraica doesn't have to be 'pro police', the reason to make him the next County State's Attorney is because he's the only candidate who's anti Daley, anti Stroger and anti the Democratic Party's Stealing Machine.
Peraica doesn't have to be the SA for more than one term to be effective at disrupting the smooth operations of Daley, Stroger and the rest of the crew of thieves that make up our city and county governments.

Not a day goes by that I don't think about Joe, and that he was taken from us, almost 33 years ago. For the younger PO's who are reading this, Joe was shot and killed while writing a parking ticket, by a 17 year old sniper, named James Clark.

This man’s opinion is that captain ROBERTS cared about his Officers, was interested in providing the P.O.s with training/knowledge during roll calls and tried to provide an interesting fun atmosphere. He would use innovative incentives at his own expense to try and achieve positive results. Although I did not agree with everything he did, I thought he had good intention in mind. There aren’t too many bosses that want you to have knowledge/power. I can say that I don’t have first hand knowledge about the female thing, but I can say that I have never witnessed the Captain treat anyone without dignity and respect. I have no ties to the captain or anyone else, other then working for him and this is my opinion.
