Bad Auditor

Anonymous phone call trips up a $114,000 a year job:
  • As Chicago's manager for auditing, Jeffrey Mina was supposed to be an internal watchdog who monitored city spending to make certain taxpayers got their money's worth, and everything was on the up-and-up.

Instead, he was apparently crossing the line himself -- by living in Chicago Heights in violation of the city's residency rule.

Mina -- who made $114,348 a year -- quietly resigned Feb. 15 after an undercover investigation by Inspector General David Hoffman touched off by an anonymous tip.

I could see some of us yearning to live the suburban life, which would be a relief from working in some neighborhoods in the city.

BUT, Chicago Heights?????????????

How much does anyone want to bet that he'll get his job back, or another job at a comparable salary?

He's clout, and they always take care of the clout.

This pisses me off more than anything; this absolute fucking asshole makes that much money and still lives outside of the city?! Fuck you Mina. The city pays me shit, to do a job that no one wants, and I can't even afford a house because of all these greedy prick real estate agents (used car salesmen) crank up the prices. Fuck them, fuck tricky dick, and fuck all you clout heavy pricks.

Teh city is going to pay for my law degree so I can get the fuck out of here.

This guy could've bought into Belmont/Cragin and been legal!
With that salary, and a few donations to the local alderhombre,
he could've achieved "warlord" status.
Chicago Heights? What a puto estupido!!!!

LIFT THE @%#%^#$@^ RESIDENCY RULE!!!!!!!

If you don't like the residency rule then don't work for the city. It's that simple. Can't afford to live in the city well then stop living beyond your means. The residency rule is great and keeps Chicago great.

Chicago Heights has one good Italian restaurant.

I think it's called Carlo's. It's on Lincoln Highway just east of western.

Maybe that's why he wanted to live there.

Are you high? This City is getting worse. Question is do have a family? Did or do your children go to a CPS school? This city is getting to be too expensive tax wise. The Criminal element wonders freely. The residency requirement does not make this city GREAT you moron. I can understand if and ever it is lifted everyone is worried about the future housing market. However, how many of our police officers/families have been victims of crime. HAve you ever been followed home by thugs? If we lived outside of the city we have less chances of our families
becoming vitims just because of our profession and were CHOOSE to work and REQUIRED to live?
