What void would there really be? When they had the rally in Grant Park a couple of years ago I still ate in a restaurant, got my dry cleaning done, gas in my car...well you get the point - Would businesses close -absolutely - Just imagine all the taco joints that would close for lack of labor and drop in demand - I bet Ill still be able to get a taco somewhere though. As to the argument of rising labor costs to cover the loss of labor in agriculture - No one talks about the opposite side of the balance sheet of the cost of having people here who take up social services, commit crime – mostly the small stuff like driving without Insurance, Identity theft... again you get the point. You cannot speak of the positives without discussion of the negative.

What good has it done? Certainly one could make the argument we shot ourselves in the foot because we’ve enabled illegal aliens –all illegal aliens mind you - the mind set that you can disregard immigration law because at some point you will get amnesty.
So how about this – First -You get caught as an illegal alien you get sent to Iraq – you serve in the military with a military salary. When you return you are made a citizen as a patriot. (If you send enough of them it would help on the demand on gasoline too! But I’ll leave George Carlin explain his own theories on Energy Conservation.) Second – Ms Madagin – back charge the Mexican government for Social services – Education – Health – etc... after all if they get caught and sent back we are sending back an investment; we should be compensated for the investment.
Third – You are not allowed to own property if you are not a citizen or alien in good standing; no house no car, no elote cart.. this should satisfy the Mayors budget on the sale of illegally owned property.
Fourth – Start rounding them up where we all know they are – Belmont/Milwaukee/Pulaski in the morning would be a good start – If your ever feeling bad about yourself- pull into the Dunkin Donuts parking lot on Belmont Ave. make sure the doors are locked; open your window a crack and they’ll come running up to your car as if your Paris Hilton and they’re paparazzi. Got a lot of work done around my house for 7.00 bucks an hour- so you can send them back now.

Good points. At the rate they're going they'll round up about 5 percent of the illegals in maybe 100 years. As for the void, all levels of government should be going after the employers. Fine them for employing illegals, and make them pay into workers comp, unemployment insurance, and payroll taxes. Every time an illegal checks into the ER at Stroger or the Barnyard or Christ, we're paying for it out of new taxes. The entire budget shortfall of Cook County is from spending at Stroger. How do they want to fix it? Up our taxes! No wonder they all want to come to Sanctuary City!

Really? If not for living wages how do you think Americans were able to enjoy the highest standards of living in the entire world from the period between 1945 and 1974? By your definition then the 3 million manufacturing jobs lost to American workers since 1983--workers who bought homes, autos, appliances, etc. on living wages--"means nothing".
What do you think fuels an economy? Oxygen? Hopes and dreams? People need secure employment before they can ACQUIRE much less spend discretionary income. Perhaps you haven't noticed that the American middle-class is on the endangered species list. A friend works for the County health dept as a public health RN. The Arab women who come in to the clinic admit having gotten off the plane from the middle east THE DAY PRIOR to coming to the county health dept. Now, who is shitting who? The system was designed to help people in need, NOT to be pimped, yet nobody does anything.
And she says the Arab women are the worst in terms of their attitude towards using services. They are arrogant, demanding and act as if they are entitled to the services.
Also, can someone tell me why the Arabs and Polish come here and speak English in no time, while Mexicans refuse to learn or pretend that they don't speak English? I don't get that. And the County has to pay/provide interpreters for these jagoffs which eventually comes out of our pocket.
All ICE has to do is sit in any courtroom, keep a bus running on the side and haul they asses in.
