CTA President Ron Huberman got to revisit his days as a Chicago cop last week when he escorted a misbehaving passenger off an L train.
The incident took place around 7:30 a.m. Thursday, on a southbound Red Line train going toward the Loop, according to CTA spokeswoman Noelle Gaffney.
- The "Tattler" story said Huberman stood up, glared at the man and said, "You're going to get off this train."
Huberman "glared at the man." Looks like Ron is building up his crime fighting credentials to step into J-Fed's shoes if the opportunity presents itself.

He worked in 024 for a hot minute. Nothing much to tell. Very quiet, average copper. Got on the gang team (or tact, I forgot which) and still, no fireball.

Yes. I worked in the district with him. He worked a couple years. He and his partners put up good numbers. No one had a problem with him that I know of. He is probably a hell of a lot more physically fit than you are. And smarter too. A hell of a lot smarter. You would never say shit to his face without making an ass of yourself. One way or another.

Ron worked in 024 and for a couple of years. He was a good cop who did his share of the work. I remember him making quite a few quality arrests with his partners. They worked on beat 2423 third watch and were always busy. The gay thing was never an issue and Ron was there the night Jim Mullen was shot. I remember all of us having tears in our eyes that night and Ron was with all of us waiting outside the hospital for any updates. I will always remember that night and that Huberman was right there will all of us praying for the best.
I can't stand the egotistical, immodest, overrated former officer myself either.... but the obsession with his gayness and detailed descriptions on here makes me wonder about some of you who write like that. Reminds me of some curious "straight" married men who got caught with their pants down in the park.
May I have an autographed photo of that hair-raising moment? Did the guy stumble out w/out his newports and bagged-up booze?

As one of his former supervisors, I can tell you that he didn't go out of his way to to find arrests. As for quality, never ever. He was like the rest of the mopes up there. A couple years on, yet grizzled veterans. I would equate 24 to 25 with a bunch of lazier cops.
