Elect Peraica?

Sure, it'd be nice to have someone in there who's going to be a thorn in the side of the Machine.

What office is he running for again?
  • Cook County State's Attorney
And who's in charge of Cook County?
  • Stroger, John Daley, "Hog Balls" Beavers - the Machine
And who approves the Cook County State's Attorney's Office budget?
  • The Cook County Board, and believe us, they aren't about to be tossing any extra money toward Peraica to investigate the Machine OR itself. We'd actually expect a round of "belt tightening" to keep Peraica in check should he win.
Everyone, and we mean EVERYONE who is interested on Chicago, Cook and Illinois politics is REQUIRED to read "Boss" by Mike Royko. In it, he tells the story of how Ben Adamowski, a former ally of the original Mayor Daley converted to the Republican party after Daley shouldered him out as a potential threat to his power. Adamowski ran and won the State's Attorneys race on the platform of dismantling the Machine.

Royko outlines how Adamowski's first job was to hire hundreds of qualified attorneys to run the day to day business of the office - dope pinches, battery offenses, murders, rapes and various licensing offenses. That's the primary job of the office. And the lawyers have to be trustworthy - not loyal to the Machine.

Then there are the investigators, many, if not most of which were on loan from the Chicago Police Department (think Detached Services). Most of the people we know from Detached Services are heavier than shark poo. How many of them are trustworthy enough to not to be beholden to someone in the grasp of the Machine?

Adamowski eventually achieved fame by exposing.... wait for it ....
  • The SUMMERDALE Scandal!
That's right! Adamowski achieved his greatest acclaim by jailing policemen who were running a burglary ring! And he allowed Daley the Elder to bring in a civilian, professor, non-police officer to run the Department and "reform" everything so that Daley won the next election in a landslide as a "reformer" and as a bonus, Daley's pick for Cook County State's Attorney, Daniel Ward defeated Adamowski in a bruising election rife with fraud, ghost votes and miscounts that all seemed to benefit the Machine.

Are we saying don't elect Peraica? No. Anything that shakes up the political order is good in our eyes.

But don't expect miracles when someone else is pulling the strings.

UPDATE: post clarified about the CCSA investigators. Back in Adamowski's day, they were usually cops, but today they're retired cops.

Peraica, from jumpstreet was calling "saw n a quarter stroger" on his shit when he wanted to dump all the ASA's and nurses at the hospital, etc. Right when he first started, he wanted to get rid of the real workers(because of their hi salaries)and start stuffing all his friends and relatives in their. BTW, I recently heard that the absolutely useless, brain-dead BC/BS-CPD liason Shaniqua or Snaneatha wtf her name is, the one that screws up everyones health insurance, is a stroger appointment. Any truth to this?

The Author, and piece of shit scumbag attorney, Robert Cooley who's book "WHEN CORRUPTION WAS KING" is currently in Hollywood due to a major motion picture being made about this book.

Cooley was the rat fink attorney who got caught dirty and ended up being the MOLE and wearing a wire during the Graylord Investigation. It was about attorneys and judges at Cook County courts taking bribes for everything including murder trials. Many Judges and Attorneys went to jail as well as a few committing suicide before they had to convict them.

I can't wait for a Hollywood movie that will paint Old Man Daley and his Midget Mayor Son the way they should be painted. And I am NOT talking about a Finnegan Paint Job!

Daley will probably stroke out when this movie comes to Chicago. I wouldn't be suprised if the Alderman vote to ban this movie from being filmed in Chicago as well as being shown here.

An the great part....Just in time for the Olympic Committee to see how corruption is king here.

3/16/2008 04:50:00 AM

Don't expect the Olympic committee to be put off by corruption. They do not care, and in fact, welcome it because it makes money for them. The Olympic committee is a group of international investors who have NO allegiance to any country, and they have no moral or political guidelines. Their god is MONEY.

Why do you think they have picked Chicago? Daley is running a corrupt regime that puts the world's worst third-world dictators to shame. Hugo Chavez couldn't do it better!

Take a look at what's going on in China as they prepare for the Olympics. Dozens of workers have died on the job because they use unskilled labor (paid 7 dollars a day.) No, you won't see it in the news because the workers are threatened not to talk to the press about the British-designed construction sites. The Olympics could care less as long as they get paid!

What's going to happen in Chicago? Lots of Olympics-designated property has already been bought up or optioned by Daley's financial backers. When the final approval is scheduled, the construction contracts will go out to the selected no-bid winners. (Even if they go out to bid, the real numbers won't matter; the chosen few get the contracts.) Who pays for all this? The CPD, CFD, Teachers, and other city pension funds get to "invest" in the Olympic village, and this is where the Daley people get the PAYOFF!

The funniest (worst, really) part? It'll all be done right under No-Clue-Jody's nose! God MUST be a comedian!

Will northwestern Indiana become the next midwestern region to see an influx of honest, hardworking citizens within the near future?

I've been wondering about this for years.

Real estate prices are lower, taxes are lower, thus, the costs of goods and services are lower, the region is ripe for residential and commercial expansion, the commute into the city is about the same as from southeastern Wisconsin, the cities of Hammond, Whiting, East Chicago and Gary are substantially no different than the those areas of the city being 'gentrified' for the past few decades, and there's plenty of open, never developed land available south of 80/94.

The growing populations of Munster, Schererville, Dyer, Merrillville, Highland, St. John, Griffith, and even Hobart, Lake Station, New Chicago, Crown Point, Portage and Valparaiso, are examples of what is coming.

Add to that CC and northwestern Indiana is beginning to look at least as good as southeastern Wisconsin.

And the eastern shores of Lake Michigan are that much closer.

As for the cost of the commute, there's the Metra Electric Line running along the south lakefront, if one wants to avoid putting miles on the beater.

Maybe now is the time to think seriously about where that second home is going to be bought or built.

He'll be able to 'touch' Daley, alright, and pussified fucks like yourself are wetting their panties at the thought.

Peraica will start with the little 'piggies', following the federal pattern of twisting the knife until the little piggies squeal, working his way, ever closer to the big hogs.

He'll use both criminal and civil law and, short of literal assassination, there will be nothing Daley can do to stop him.

That is, if Peraica can win the State's Attorney's office.

That part of the equation is up to us.

If you're not registered to vote, get registered.

If you are registered, vote on Election Day.

If you do nothing else, vote for Peraica, just to see the hogs and piggies sweat blood.

And maybe he will magically gift Illinois with the kind of brute force anti-corruption laws the feds have. And maybe the County Board will gift Peraica (who swears to target them) with the kind of cash it would take to "actually" go after the Chicago Machine.

Wake up kids, Peraica is a fraud. His lack of criminal experience shows through when he thinks he can mount these major investigations.

Then he wants to slash his payroll - meaning he will have fewer investigators and attorneys to do the work.

The best shot at exposing corruption in this town is, has always been, and will always be on Dearborn Street.

Go ahead and vote for Tony, but don't go on and on about how he is going to go after TS and City Hall.

So why is it that racial separatism is wrong for whites and ok for blacks.

It's the quality of life that's important, not the quantity; didn't your mom and dad ever teach you that?

Why? I assume you haven't had the pleasure of watching the steady stream of solo pracs that walk the halls of every courthouse. There is no magic mantle of legal knowledge that you get for hanging out a shingle.

Pass the bar, and you too can "own" your own firm. It's just that simple.

No insults, no personal attacks - I just think you are putting way too much stock in his firm. You also miss the glaring fact that he is a PI lawyer, and not a prosecutor.

Of course you may also have noticed that this was the first open primary in recent memory, which means the Machine did not annoint any candidate.

3/17/2008 10:31:00 PM"

Don't you recognize the 'Kansas City Shuffle' when you see it?

The Democratic Primary for this office was stacked to appear to be open.

The fact that several different factions were vying for the nomination doesn't equal it being an 'open' primary, just the typical squabbling between the black and white factions, with Alvarez as the insurance policy, should the 3 machine whites split the vote enough to give the black, Stroger/Beavers candidate the win.

Alvarez is dependable enough to be bought and to continue to leave the machine's frauds ignored.

If for no other reason, Peraica, as a Republican, will at least add some spice to the mix, even if you don't believe he's exactly the crusading reformer he portrays himself to be.

His animosity towards both the black and white factions of the Democratic Stealing Machine alone is reason enough to give him a shot at the job.

And the fact that his candidacy is 'inspiring' so much vitriol from the machine minions shows how much damage he is perceived as being capable of doing.

If you're part of the machine, you'll be touting Alvarez and slinging mud at Peraica.

If you're not, work too get Peraica elected and at least there will be a chance of upsetting the smooth and steady flow of our tax dollars down into the bottomless hole of the machine's gullet.

Chop, Chop, your clout's roscoe awaits your tender lips.

There were at least three references to sucking cock in your post.

I won't ask if you won't tell.

And you figure that Alvarez is gonna do what, concerning the investigation, indictment and prosecution of all the boys who brought her to the dance?

You do realize that the CCSA is technically the lawyer to most of the county leadership, and that any prosecution of systemic corruption would HAVE to be handled by an outside agency both because:
1) There is a conflict of interest when the County's Lawyer prosecutes a County Official.
2) You, and people like you, would cry all the way to the bank about what an "inside job" or "sham prosecution" it would be if it didn't go exactly how you wanted it to, or worse turned its' eye on you.

That most citizens don't get the conflict is understandable, that an actual lawyer - and candidate - doesn't understand the law - well that's inexcusable.

Gee, and all this time I thought the CCSA was 'technically' the lawyer representing the interests of the citizens of this county.

And that corrupt government officials, employees, appointees, etc., committing criminal acts were, by definition, no longer acting under the authority of their office and, thus, were, and are, no better than any other criminal.

And that the posted job description, seeking applicants for investigators for the CCSA's office, which includes a description concerning the investigation of political corruptions of all kinds, is just so much hooey.

But, according to you, the CCSA's responsibility is to act as the legal advocate for the very same individuals, entrusted with the authorities which they so blatantly abuse, and the citizen's interests be damned.

Wow.

Silly me.

OMG, Like DALEY knows or knew the first thing about the law when he was states atty. For gods sake, when he was mayor his aldermen ran through the art institute? (or some public exposition) taking down works of art because they didnt care for the artists renditions of the late mayor h. washington.

I reread this entire thread and didn't see any theories, just facts.

"Is your point that it is okay to elect a guy with no experience because there is the hope that he would use that lack of experience to hire the right people to tell him what to do?

So, who are your examples of people elected to office who are capable, in and of themselves?

Richard M. Daley?

Todd Stroger?

Lisa Madigan?

Dorothy Brown?

Ed Burke?

Bernie Stone?

Bill 'da hog' Beavers?

The list is practically endless.

Who ever gets elected/reelected in this city, county and state who IS qualified to 'get the job done'?

With 'get the job done' meaning something other than picking the pockets of the taxpayers and/or doing shit that so totally fucks up what the citizens really need left un-fucked up?

Review practically every aspect of government, on the city, county and state levels, and see what percentage of activities are actually helpful to the citizens, actually worth the tax dollars being expended.

Competent, honest and intelligent leaders, are not the rule, but the exception.

And why is this so?

Perhaps because people listen to the panderers touting against changes being made, changes in the people elected to governments, changes to the people employed by governments and changes to the people contracting with governments.

The electorate behaves as if it is an abused child, fearful of angering their abusers by uttering the slightest objection to the abuse.

Is this the fate of Democracy, to end with a wimper?
