IGOLD Event

Jesse and the Pfool get 100 people to picket a store that sells a legal product as regulated by County, State and Federal laws and it's the top story on every channel and front page of the print media (well, maybe front page of the metro section).

The midget turns on the crocodile tears with a dozen "reverends" and talks about banning guns in the entire United States and he gets national coverage.

So an event like the Illinois Gun Owner Lobby Day this past Tuesday that attracts 2,500 people marching down the streets of Springfield really ought to garner some heavy press, right? Right?

Well, no. If you hop over to IllinoisCarry.com and page through their forum pages, you can see the woeful lack of coverage up in Chicago and Crook County and some helpful links in the more rural areas of the state.

There are people for whom police protection is not minutes away - it's tens of minutes and more away and the only assistance they are going to get is what they have at hand. And if that assistance is a gun, then there is no way the State should be permitted to deny them that Right to self defense and security.

The height (or lack of it) to scream about banning guns when you AND the reverends are constantly surrounded by armed guards. I bet you don't cut those units. In fact, I bet if one of your agents retires the freeze won't apply. When are the citizens of this city going to wake up. I don't have to worry about laying down on the job. I'm getting out, before the pension money is all gone.

I had a slap in the face waiting for me on returning from IGOLD this week.

As expected, my appeal for the denial of my M1-Garand registration was denied.

The letter of the ordinance states that you must register a firearm before you take possession. In repeated conversations with officers at the Gun Desk I was informed that I actually had 30 days (as enforced). Well, due to work travel, the holidays, and other excuses, I was 2 weeks over and got denied.

At the hearing I explained how it was actually impossible for me to have met the letter of the registration law. This firearm was purchased through the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program). I did not know when it would arrive until the day before USPS delivered it to my home. I did not know the serial number until I opened the box and got it off the rifle. Date of possession and serial number are required fields for the registration.

Sorry to rant off-topic, but I'm just a bit peeved.

However, IGOLD was great. I was upset that we had to cancel the Englewood bus, but the dynamics of the situation proved untenable.

dont care about your gun freak issues I think we need our law makers to spend time and efforts on REAL issues, like our pension, our contract, our retirement health care issues, and again OUR PENSION! I hope there is an opportunity where we as a union can vote to give up the worthless battle of owning an AK47 in exchange for health care, secured pension, etc etc... By telling Daley we want guns gives him another bargaining chip... way to go, gun freaks, you are weakening issues that really matter. To you, I say on the behalf of all us grown ups, FUCK YOU! Im not pro Daley but Im pro GIVE IT A FUCKING REST AND STOP TRYING TO MAKE GUNS A FRONT AND CENTER ISSUE! It doesnt matter one way or another... unless you get elected mayor of this shit town IT WILL NOT MATTER! And until then, if you do not like it please exercise your greatest guaranteed right MOVE! Until then, I hope you hapless peabrain selfish pricks will stop making an issue out of it and giving Daley a bargaining chip. We all know you are gonna have your guns, like it or not Richie... so be it I dont care... SO STOP MAKING IT A BARGAINING TOOL FOR KING DICKIE JUST LET IT GO!!!

Hey J-Fed;

What to save some MORE money??

How about getting rid of the "Watch Commander's Aggravated Battery reports" when there is a shooting in the districts?

Some Watch Commander's who are close to their end of Watch wind up doing these silly reports and milk the overtime (the taxpayers dollars) at an average of $65.00 an hour ! !
We had a new lieutenant in our district who raped the city for 6 hours at time and a half for this bullshit report.

These stupid unnecessary reports are redundant . . something that the detective division should do if they want to contribute information to the weekly DOC Meetings.

Start auditing the overtime slips for all Lieutenants and Captains (Title Codes: 9173 and 9175)
and see what bullshit lies are being generated to steal taxpayer's money !!!!

By The Associated Press

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma state House of Representatives agreed Thursday to allow people with specialized firearms training to carry concealed weapons on the state's college campuses, despite opponents who said it makes no sense following shootings at schools across the United States.

The measure was approved 65-36 and now heads to the state Senate for a vote.

Introduced by Republican state Representative Jason Murphey, the law would authorize active-duty military and National Guard and reserve personnel, honourably discharged veterans and others with firearms training certified by the Council on Law Enforcement Education who hold a state concealed-weapons licence to carry guns on college and university campuses.

The legislation is more narrow than Murphey's original proposal, which would have allowed anyone at least 21 years old with concealed handgun-carrying rights to carry weapons on campus. That version was similar to a Utah law.

Supporters argued the measure would make college campuses safer by putting guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens.

Republican Representative Colby Schwartz said someone with a concealed weapon might be the only person in a classroom who can protect himself and others from an attacking gunman.

"When seconds matter, the police are just minutes away," said Republican Representative Rex Duncan.

House members also approved a measure that lowers the age to 18 from 21 of active-duty military, National Guard and reserve personnel, as well as veterans who can be licensed to carry a concealed weapon.

Murphey said his bill is a "commonsense step" to expand Oklahoma's concealed weapons law to combat campus violence.

"The concealed carry law is about 12 years old. It's worked out very well," Murphey said.

He said more than 60,000 Oklahomans are licensed to carry concealed weapons and there has been no widespread gun violence in the state, which opponents had warned of.

If any of you are interested; the
link on this blog "The Chicago Syndicate" that this SCC was kind enough to provide; has an interesting article on how this gun
control got started here.
The article is "Chicago Democrats and the Chicago Mob".
In a nutshell, it says that it was all pushed by outfit alderman roti,
and burke onto mayor j.byrne. That they wanted a disarmed public when they sent corrupt cops(handhart, etc)to muscle people.
Interesting perspective; shows ya
why u should never give up your guns to these whores........

I know some guys may find this hard to believe. I was told years back that after a few questionable, off duty shooting by Chicago Cop's, a then ADS proposed we only be allowed to carry our guys at work. I hear guys all the time say this will never happen. They say we are allowed to carry off duty because we might run into someone we have arrested. How many guys does anyone on the job know who have been involved in a shooting off duty, involving a bad guy they had arrested? And were attacked strictly for making that arrest? I know none. I personally can think of a few guys I know who have been the target of a crime, or got involved in something on view while off and shot someone. The argument we carry for personal protection does not have lot of weight I've heard. We could all ways run away like everyone else I've been told.

Remember besides the Police, and Aldermen in this city, everyone else should be unarmed by law.
If I was a villain I'd love those odds when looking for a victim.
Remember where you came from....

Funny Thing,

All these ridiculous unconstitutional Anti-2nd Amendment laws do is make criminals out of normal law abiding citizens. It also makes them HATE the police for the minority of us that are too stupid to know that they shoudl never be enforced. As a copper you should know what is right and wrong, violating a good, wroking citizens constitutional rights for a gun pinch is not policework. The area gun and CAGE teams are nothing but an embarassment to the CPD and a spot for "clout babies".

Area 2 and Area 4's gun teams really made us look good,NOT...

I was there, it was a good event to go to.

Next year is going to be bigger!!

Plus there is talk about CGOLD

Cook Gun Owner Lobbying day in downtown Chicago.

IF we got organized, and FOID holders in this area commited to comming downtown for a rally, and same for down state, we could easily bring 250k-500k of folks downtown to share our views on how we feel about Chicago style gun control.

A peaceful event like that would do alot of things.

1. End Chicago attempting gun contol for the rest of IL.

2. Show others in Chicago, there is a weakness in the Chicago machine. A good event would help start to bring down the regime that is ruining Cook, and Chicago.

So millions of us who have our fundamental and constitutional rights abridged should shut up so that a few thousand of you can get your pension problems solved?

Millions of us should MOVE to regain our rights? Why don't you quit and get a job in the private sector with a decent 401(k) and pension and quit whining? If the City doesn't want to provide adequate pay and benefits for a police force it doesn't deserve one. Let the reverends run the streets.

Thanks for your remarks and noticing the biased coverage of IGOLD. It is sad that people don't understand that it's not about guns - it's about freedom. If the liberal democraps can gut the Second Amendment you bet your sweet ass the other amendments that limit their socialist agenda won't be far behind.

In case you missed it - it isn't about guns it's about freedom!

To 3/14 0700 hrs.

The fact that the bad guys assume that you are armed prevents potential problems.

This happened to me. Locked a guy up for UUW and PCS. Two weeks later I was at my local watering hole. In comes the bad guy with two other guys. I was to meet non police friends that night and I had arrived first. As soon as we saw each other we both stopped in our tracks. I took my shit out and the bouncer quickly pushed the three guys to the back of the bar. I finished my beer and never came back to bar again.

Different time. A bad guy mistakes me for a copper that locked up him up for a shotgun. This time I was with other coppers. Bad guy realizes he's out numbered and walks out.

Your only practical fear is the police.

Why?

Because you're not going to kill a police officer to avoid a UUW arrest.

Because, if confronted with a 'savage', you will do what you have to do, a deal with being 'judged by 12', rather than risk being 'carried by 6'.

We are all stuck with the Catch 22 of our Constitutional Rights being denied us, here in this County of Crooks, this City of Thieves and this State of Stupidity.

The solution is to unite and vote out the cretins.

The solution is for those believing in the ideals of our Constitution and Bill of Rights to run for elected offices, so we, the People, can actually have a choice.

That 'Blue Party' idea is sounding better and better all the time.
