Giving Ralph Price any unit that requires police work is a major mistake. He has never been the police and has no idea what it means. He only knows how to jam up police officers or talk about you behind your back.

One things for sure nothing has changed. If you really take a look at who's being promoted whether they are black or white the one thing in common is CLOUT!!!. No matter who is Supt. CLOUT is here to stay. Oh and maybe one of those newly appointed district commanders will move back into the city right IAD, but you knew they were living outside the city, already didn't you? those of you who are bashing Lily Crump-Hales probably never worked for her. I was in 22 on 1st watch for 5 months, she treated me with nothing but respect. She showed concern for her people, sure she had her pet peeves, like everyone does, but it was nothing that was going to hurt anyone. A lot of people think they are smarter than those in charge because they have never been in charge. She had the respect of most of the watch and supervisors. All I can say to 3 is to give her a chance. Those of you who might claim her to be a racist,I'm a m/2.

Everybody in the department needs new thinking, and the new boss had to start by getting rid of the old thinking and old habits. This is the beginning of our new department. Well, I should say at least while this new boss is around.
He's doing what he said he was going to do. His first action was to select his exempt staff before he can change the day to day operations of the department. He started by choosing his immediate staff and chose a m1, f4, and m2 from within. A variety of background experience with decent time on. Then they put their heads together and chose their exempt staff.
Now these new exempt with their D/S will choose their unit staff.
These exempt have the big problem. They have to shuffle their Lts and Sgts around amongst each other within the department. Too bad many of them can't be forced to retire.
Best of luck to many good choices. Let the real work begin.

Not that there is anything wrong with you bashing Lucy Moy, but at least get her resume right. She NEVER was a Lt. in Management & Labor affairs. She was in 009 on 3rd watch and ended up in Patrol division working for C. Williams. She's not as bad as everyone makes her out to be. She definitely doesn't have a problem telling ANYONE to go FUCK OFF!
I requalified on the range with Franklin late last year at A/3. He did very well shooting several guns. I can't say whether he ever had an accident on a range, but offhand, I don't believe it, sounds like somebody with sour grapes. I never shot on a range withe a cmdr before, never even seen one on a range in my 17 years. Seemd like a nice guy.
I heard it from my guy, who heard it from his guy, that that person is a real politcal hack! He also told me that he will do anything that is warm(ac/dc)! Get a life people!! Give the changes a chance.
Two years from now you will be in the same spot that you are now. Lets start talking about things that really mater, raises, health care and pension!!! taxes , fuel ,food, education and utilities are going way out of control. You may want to recheck his resume to make sure everything in it is accurate

Worked for Mike Mealer a few years ago and found him to be a decent boss. Now, if he can put old (emphasis on old) Capt JRD in her place, then, it's a win-win situation for everyone. Congrats Mike, show the nay-sayers wrong.

I requalified on the range with Franklin late last year at A/3. He did very well shooting several guns. I can't say whether he ever had an accident on a range, but offhand, I don't believe it, sounds like somebody with sour grapes.

those of you who are bashing Lily Crump-Hales probably never worked for her. I was in 22 on 1st watch for 5 months, she treated me with nothing but respect. She showed concern for her people, sure she had her pet peeves, like everyone does, but it was nothing that was going to hurt anyone. A lot of people think they are smarter than those in charge because they have never been in charge. She had the respect of most of the watch and supervisors. All I can say to 3 is to give her a chance. Those of you who might claim her to be a racist,I'm a m/2.
How about we stop acting like sheep and make our own decisions on people instead of listening to others...I gave my opinion but I would hope you all make your own after giving her a chance to prove herself, besides what are your options, not everyone can bid out?

The problem is she's an idiot. Now if things are going smooth, an idiot can be a great commander. If there's a problem, then an idiot commander won't know how to respond. The idiot commander will take their cue from media reports, aldermen, and reverends. The idiot commander doesn't know the law, the contract, or the department rules. So, the idiot commander is more likely to screw their people when the heat is on.
Also, idiots tend to flock together. Idiot commanders often bring in other idiot captains, idiot lieutenants, and idiot sergeants. This makes something as simple as taking lunch, a giant pain in the ass for the PO on the street.

You have no idea what the hell you are talking about. Sgt. Wright is THE BEST sergeant I have ever come across on this job. He is a true class act. He treats PO's and detectives with nothing but respect.
You have obviously never been involved in a police shooting and you have obviously never been involved in anything worth mentioning in A2.

I worked for Mealer at 124, and those talking shit are full of it themselves!
If you work you will have no problems with Mealer.
I recall a jarhead forged his name to a PAR form and then lied to his face about it, and all Mealer did was transfer the guy back to his district. Rest assured, Tobias, or any other boss would have moved to fire the guy.

Albany Park could have done a lot worse than Mealer. I can give personal testimony that there are more than a few policemen, including PPO'S, who still have jobs due soley to Mealers delicate and thoughtful handling of some pretty good beefs they got. He had almost as much to lose by fixing the beefs as the accused had for getting into the jam in the first place. He came from modest means on the Northwest Side and became a lawyer. Unlike your merit half-wits like Martin, Moy, Rottner, et al. no one gave Mealer a law license for nothing. Want to piss him off? Come into the office wearing your fitness award asking for time-due when there's all one man cars as it is-get denied-and then hit the medical for two or three days! Oh, and don't forget to be out-of-state when the sergeant does a medical check at your home! Pull that shit twenty years ago and you would never see the light of day-midnights for you, stat. His minimum activity requirements for the cars pale to what I was required to turn in years ago. He'll let the sergeants run the street and he's reasonable. After years of that idiot Dulay 017 should be thankful they got Mealer.
EVERY district has to make arrests for bootleg videos/dvds, and selling out of state cigs on the street now. The businesses have demanded action, and you can't blame them. These guys pop up out of nowhere with knapsacks full of merchandise they are selling far cheaper than the merchants, who pay taxes, replenish licenses to sell products every year, and hire staff. Same on the State for pricing the cigs so high that the addicted minions have nowhere else to turn except to the knapsack boys. Remember boys & girls, if the businesses don't flourish, the lack of revenue trickles down to all of us on the city payroll. You can walk around and spout the "I'm not pimpin' for the city" line all you want to. No money in, no money out. Think about that when the NEXT academy class is cancelled.
