Oh, the Humanity!

  • The family of a man fatally shot by police early Sunday is suing the city Wednesday after officers used what the family is calling excessive force in the fatal shooting of Shapell Terrell.

About 1 a.m. Sunday, police fatally shot Terrell in the 2300 block of East 85th Street. The 39-year-old garbage man was pronounced dead on the scene at 4:40 a.m. Sunday, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office said.

Nina Eskridge and Shapell Terrell Jr. -- two of the slain man’s six children -- and his father, James Terrell, filed suit against the city Wednesday claiming Shapell Terrell was unarmed and the shooting of their family member was “excessive” and “unreasonable.”

And the amusing part?
  • The Independent Police Review Authority recovered two handguns at the scene and “will be investigating whether the officers’ conduct was consistent with department policy and Illinois state law,” the agency’s chief, Ilana Rosenzweig, said.
Not one gun...TWO. And they can still claim he was unarmed and "gunned down." Only in Daley's Chicago.

So now they will have to file a CR# and sign an affidavit. J-Fed please use this opportunity to shove this lawsuit up their ass, and lock all of the opportunists for perjury. Being shot by the police has turned an unemployed convicted felon into a lottery ticket. This must stop.

....and its unheard of to hear of Chicago police planting evidence right? Open your eyes SCC. Either you're just as crooked as the rest or you're an impressionable choir boy who has no business blogging.
Which one are you?

Prove what you say is true! Then take it to the Feds and have them prosecute. It's easy!. The US Attorney will indict a ham sammich if he wanted to. Now do yourself a favor and start collecting evidence that the recovered weapons were planted by the police.

Sorry meathead, the fact remains that dude upschloggined with a pistol and got dropped by the Po Po. I think you're just mad that you didn't get in on the lottery ticket!

This was an obvious waste of one drop gun. The was absolutely no need to throw down two guns on this poor, hapless individual. Come on partners decide right after roll call whose drop gun is going to be used!!!

Good thing his family can't say that he was a computer technician , or an aspiring rap star . He was a grown man, a garbage man. (I know, it's a living)

OK, what's more likely?

A 39-year-old garbage man is carrying around two guns and, for no apparent reason, draws both of them on the police.

OR

This is a bad shoot and the cops get confused about which one of them is supposed to plant his drop piece.

Reverends Investigating Polices (RIP)
Chicago reverends will form their own police board to investigate police shootings. In their official capacity, they will parade witnesses before the media who will swear that the po po:

1. Did not yell, "Drop the gun!"
2. Did not yell, "Stop or I'll shoot!"
3. Shot an unarmed citizen.
4. Dropped a gun(s) near the body.

In addition, RIP will produce witnesses who never saw the shooting victim with a gun/knife/fork before he was shot. They will also attest that the deceased citizen was a pillar of the community who will be sorely missed by his family and friends until the multi-million-dollar lawsuit is settled by the City of Chicago.

Since when does something a witness "didn't see" become evidence???? "He didn't have no gun".
