J-Fed Speaks Truth - Will He Be Fired?
You can think this all you want - most coppers do. But you can never ever speak it aloud:
- An 8-year-old boy was in the hospital Tuesday afternoon after being shot overnight in Humboldt Park in an attack that appears to be gang-related. But in an unexpected twist, Chicago's top cop blamed the boy's parents for the tragedy.
- "I hate to say it, but the parents are to blame for that 8-year-old being shot. They choose to engage in this activity," Weis said. "(The father is) engaging in gang activity and, more than likely, he's probably breaking some laws. ... As long as we have people who are willing to break the law and engage in criminal activities, these are some of the consequences that we face. We have an innocent boy whose dreams will be shattered, whose family's dreams are shattered and it's horrible and we've got to do something about it."
We know exactly who's to blame. So does the mayor. The media might or might not - they're all pretty stupid. But you aren't allowed to say it out loud. The reverends get all antsy, the media screams, and the mayor might lose votes. Mope-rah might write a whole column about it depending on the her med levels.
Here's the thing - nothing good ever comes of kids being on the street after 8 p.m. Never. And this kids was in a van in a crappy neighborhood at 10 p.m. You know why decent people with jobs and their children are almost never the victims of drive-by shootings after dark? Because they're all in bed!

I personally thank you and have heard from fellow Officers about what you said and they were shocked but very pleased. Stick up for Your Officers. Supposedly they are the backbone of Your dept. And help that detective that stopped 5 gangbangers on the site of the Johnny Depp movie to keep working the movie detail that will be dumped from the unit. Show you care and Officers will respond. Believe me...most of us like locking up bad guys and fighting crime as long as we know we won't be punished for doing it.
With all the incredible tax-hikes we have seen since the sixties, mostly under the guise of programs for the less fortunate, I'm wondering when our investment is going to pay off? Most of these programs are only teaching our children how to extend their hands out further. And they are doing way more damage then good.
I asked a guy on the street today if he had a job, he said he gets paid by the government to watch his kids. No lie, he gets paid to raise his kids. I then asked why he needs to get paid, and he said why else would I do it.

I am not a CPD officer, but with the county. But I live in the city because my wife is a CPS teacher. We live in one of the supposedly last bastions of decent neighborhoods in the city (16).. my plea to you CPD officers is to PLEASE continue to be tough on the scum that try to come to decent areas and run their game.
I rejoice every time I see a tact team, a patrol car on the side of a street in my neighborhood having had pulled over gang banging crap.

While I think it is commendable that J Fed spoke the truth the Hispanic population doesn't have the same reverend base as the Blacks do. Just because a thought crosses your mind doesn't mean it needs to come out of your mouth!!! How that fool J-Fed could even say that to or about a family that's had such a tragedy involving their small child is beyond my comprehension. There is yet another video about to go public involving an out of control, drunk police officer beating up a girl. This one is from late 2007 and OPS - Independent Police Review (whatever they're calling themselves today) has known about it since the day it happened and has tried to squash it. The whole thing was caught on tape. Girl filed charges in 014 but the offending PO wasn't arrested. OPS didn't even bother to interview this girl and they sent her a letter even stating in writing that the incident didn't happen. But maybe they should have spent a minute or two interviewing this girl and/or witnesses to the incident as it was ALL caught on tape. Now, OPS and the department are going to have to explain to the media - yet again - why they didn't take action against the offending officer.
Here we have another black eye - figuratively on the department and literally for this girl. This officer has been previously investigated for incidents of battery, he's been in and out of the EAP program for alcoholism for years now and has even served a past suspension of more than a year only to be given his job back. Yet, now we'll see it splashed across our tv screens on the local and national news.
There will be people who will need to explain this when it hits since it turns out this girl not only works in the media but is from a prominent family with connections to Springfield, the sergeant on duty at the time incident was reported was a longtime buddy & former co-worker in this officer's prior district, OPS didn't bother to make any effort to talk to any witnesses or the girl and this beating is captured on tape.
Hey OPS/IPR/IAD...Do us all a favor and start at least asking the question "Was there any video tape made?"
Before you know it J-Fed will be on the Behavior Intervention Program and will have to pee in a cup. Don't worry J-Fed at least you get a free cholesteral screening. All the red meat from the 80's can catch up to you.
