Here's a Hint - STOP CALLING
- A neat little home with a well-manicured lawn at 68th and Aberdeen in Englewood was the latest scene of a police shooting on Sunday. Officers said a woman called from the house, begging police to protect her from her boyfriend.
Neighbor Nicole Wright said, "She ran across the street to the other house, was telling them she needs some help … and before you knew it we heard three or four shots from inside the house."
Darius Nicholson was shot and killed inside the house. Residents of the home didn't want to talk about the incident, but neighbors had questions.
"One minute it's quiet, the next minute's a thousand police out and you don't know what's going on," said Reggie Reed.
"We can't see what goes on inside, we don't know if he had a gun, but we know the police had guns," Wright said.
Well, gee, if you don't want men with guns coming to your damn houses for every little freaking thing, stop calling.
- Kid won't eat his vegetables? Don't call police.
- Junior won't go to school and he's all of 10 years old? Don't call police.
- 14 year old pregnant by her 24 year old boyfriend? Don't call police.
- 12 year old grandson disrespecting his 42 year old grandma? Don't call police.
- Boyfriend of the hour beating the crap out of you and he's got at least one gun that he stuck in your face and threatened to kill you for whatever reason? Don't call police.
We, along with most of our readers responded to every single one of the above calls at some point in their careers. Three of the five aren't really police matters, but at every scene, there were guns, usually two guns if you count partners, three or four guns of it was a slow night and someone bored came by to help out.
You don't want the police there, fine, stop calling. Call your "reverend" to come out and solve everything. That way when the asshole pulls out a gun and kills the "reverend" along with your stupid ass, you can die feeling all self righteous that at least a cop didn't kill him. As a bonus, we reduce the surplus of "reverends" and raise everyones collective IQ with you dead.
Of course, the survivors won't have anyone to sue. So that's a win-win situation all the way around from our viewpoint.

I will comment here on the things that I have seen in my years as a police officer with the City of Chicago. I started in the early 60s and am happily retired, as I hope you all will be some day. But all the violence on the South, and West sides have always been there. It hasn’t changed, it’s always been like this , only now the citizens can see it better because of the new technology, cameras etc. which, thank God, were not around in my time. This just makes it more difficult for you guys. Why do these areas stay the same? Generation to generation, same BS. These people are told over and over again it is not their fault, it’s because of this or that and the police are your enemy. Someone should have told these people that they have to go to school and graduate, take responsibility for their families, get jobs and keep them, wait, that’s the reverend’s job. Anybody know any good ones. Take care of each other, we did, always try and help a PO in trouble, whatever it is, and shoot straight. Be Safe and God Bless. I do like the Chalky thing.

The polices should have know that this would have happened and they should have stopped beating all those poor black honor students for enough time to go to the house and stop this violence on their own.

Here is what happens when these lovely Chicago natives migrate. Too bad this Kenosha officer didn't know what to do:
Officer Attacked
KENOSHA - A Kenosha police officer is recovering from an attack by a man she was arresting.
Officer Valerie Barlett was punched in the face three times while trying to arrest a suspect over the weekend.
That suspect is 19-year-old Austin Reagles. Police report that Reagles punched Bartlett causing cuts and bruises all around her face and head.
More officers had to be called in.
Reagles even had to be Tasered according to the reports. The officers were called to 1400 block of 71st Street in Kenosha after Reagles was arguing with other people in the street.
Reagles was arrested.
It turns out this wasn't the first time he's done this. He was already on probation for battery to a police officer. Officer Barlett is expected to be OK.
This 19yr old honor roll student will KILL a cop next time.

OT- I was walking the halls at 35th street the other day and I ran into the Supe. He said "hi" with a big smiley face and I suddenly felt all warm and fuzzy inside. Silly public. This is only a simple battery Felony review will never approve charges on this because she consented and the parents didn't care that he was 24 and he said she told him she was 19 and she looks 22. Simple battery : nolle no probable cause!

No. In our highly litigious society in Chicago, discretion was taken away from our call takers and dispatchers a good while back. It is not the fault of the call takers and the dispatchers that the police are dispatched to almost every 911 call.
No call taker or dispatcher in their right mind would risk their job by taking a chance and apply common sense, because if shit hits the fan, nobody will help them. They will be on their own. Sad, but true.
By shit hits the fan, I mean any number of scenarios, but say baby-boo jacks up gramma AFTER she is told to call the principal by a call-taker or a dispatcher. Now gramma's 25 relatives, that come out of the woodwork, call the news media and tell them gramma was refused police help. Then the media comes down like a herd of jackals wanting to know why the police were not sent to help gramma. Next, gramma's lawyer will be notifying the city's lawyers of the ensuing lawsuit.
The mayor, the aldermen, the reverends, the media, and the public will participate in the feeding frenzy and be hollering about how somebody did not do their job. Now somebody is going to be offered up as the sacrifice, and shit rolls down hill. All the honchos would get together and decide to offer up the call taker and/or the dispatcher. The call taker would be told they should have sent the information to the dispatcher so it could be dispatched, and the dispatcher who doesn't dispatch the information would be told they should have dispatched the police, while one or both are simultaneously being handed a 15 day suspension "vacation" or a notification they were being fired. That's how it is in the city that works. Cut somebody's head off and the pressure is alleviated. It is sort of like a modern day colosseum with the lions and the christians. Make the crowd happy.

I once saw a hype mowing a lawn (ala weeds) at 2 o'clock in the morning during a Monsoon rainstorm/Thunderstorm. He turned, looked at us....smiled and waved and continued mowing away without ever skipping a beat. Just about one of the funniest things I have seen working in 007 in the late 90's. Till this day I can remember the guys face. Me and my partners still laugh our asses off till this day when talking about it. Ahhhh......the good ol days.
