I attended the wake today and I cried as I passed the coffin. I didn't know Richard Francis, but it could have been me there. I thought of my young family having to deal with this and I couldn't hold it in. I caught a lot of flack and ridicule from friends/co-workers and I'm really pissed about that. I can't think of a more worthy time to allow human emotion to take over. God bless you, P.O. FRANCIS. May your family find peace.

7/07/2008 12:30:00 AM i did the same! thats ridiculous that anyone would give you any grief for crying. even though francis was not known by all it was indeed a sad day for all of us!
I'm the wife of a Chicago police officer. When I shook hands with Mrs. Francis at the visitation, and looked into her sad eyes, it was as though "there but for the grace of God go I..." It could be any one of our families in this horrible situation. God bless her and her children, and God bless Officer Francis, may he rest in peace.
What always bothered me about my fallen brothers funerals is, all the exempts and politicians sit in the front rows. People who never knew, cared to know or heard of the fallen officer until they were killed in the line of duty. Often times, those of us that knew the officers have to stand outside trying to listen on loud speakers. the exempts and politicians should give up their seats to those who worked with and knew the officer. The exempts and politicians should stand outside. I already told my wife, if God forbid any thing ever happened to me keep Daley, the Sup. and all the other fakes away. If this means no honor funeral so be it.
Dear Chicago Police Officers, Please know how much the vast majority of the Citizens of CHicago mourn with you today. We do very often take you for granted as well as your service to the City of Chicago. It takes an incident like this for us to remember the sacrifices you make on a daily basis, and how difficult it must be for your families to realize every day you could very well not come home. PLease know there are many citizens who hold you in the highest regard, have the utmost respect for you, and are praying for your safety. My family and I offer our deepest condolences to the Chicago Police Department, The 19th District, and Especially the Francis Family. We are so grateful and we will always remember. Respectfully,
I know no positives can be taken from the death of one of our own but for the first time in a while I sense a little pride amongst us and a feeling of togetherness. This is the time when we must stick together most. I've went to some calls over the last couple of days and seen tremendous responses and people backing each other up. I think the few good people in this city appreciate our efforts and have expressed sentiment over our tragedy.
Just caught WGN's coverage of the funeral procession. Why, O Why is that fed rat allowed to show up in a CPD uniform as if he earned the right to wear it.

If your friends and co-workers really gave you flack for crying at the foot of a casket of a fallen police officer then they are not your friends and not worthy of your time....
Saw the mayor, his wife, blago, and some other mucky-muck (carothers? didn't recognize the man) in the front line at the church today.
God forbid, but if there's ever a LOD death in this household, the people who will be in front, and speaking, and everywhere "important," will be those who served with, were "bosses" to, and knew my spouse well. The mayor, et al. can sit their asses outside on folding chairs. Or, do everyone a favor, and don't show up at all.
Your emotions at times such as these are false -- like crocodile tears. Your behavior day in and day out is truly indicative of the self-serving, public-trough-feeding, average-citizen-pocket-raiding thieves that you really are.
Just got back from the Funeral and on behalf of the Men & Women of The Chicago Police Department I would like to thank all the outside Police Agencies that came to show their respect. Even Minneapolis Minnesota Police was present, again thank you from the bottom of my heart, your actions will not be forgotten.
Any P.O. that would ridicule you over weeping openly fro a lost brother is a sorry piece of shit, period. Holding it in all career, holding back for every dead body we see. Holding it back for injured and dead kids and abused women. Never hold back for a fallen brother, never. RIP Office, watch over us all.
Please let this horrible tragedy be a grim reminder that no matter where you work you can get killed on this job!! Do not allow yourself to become complacent...in other words...when working do not be lazy complete your search of your offender, get out of the car to talk to people, AlWAYS put them at a disadvantage...ALWAYS!! If you need to cuff someone...CUFF THEM...you might get a beef...but you'll be alive...AlWAYS expect the unexpected....NEVER underestimate your opponent...Keep your equipment clean and in good working order..oil your cuffs,weapon...clean them at least once a month if not more...they are the tools of your trade take care of them so they can function when you need them. MOST OF ALL...BACK EACHOTHER UP!!!!! When you hear a car go down on a traffic stop, answer a domestic, or a simple disturbance...ride by or go with them if you are close...you don't have to come up on the air...just go there and let your fellow officer(s) know you are there to protect them at all times...SAFETY is PARAMOUNT...Unfortunately Officer Francis didn't get another chance...and we suffered a HUGE loss to our family...I am not second guessing anything he did...I have done it myself dozens of times....that's what we do...We are police officers and we respond to citizens cries for help...big or small...and seldom get recognized for our work...Please be safe out there and GOD BLESS Officer Francis...GOD BLESS his family and friends...May he rest in peace brother. 016 Dist Sgt.
Just came from Officer Francis funeral. Very sad and moving. Everyone gave great respect. Also very nice to see all the civilians paying thier respect. Thank you.
There were hundreds of police there at the funeral today, but i must ask... those that didn't attend, what could have been more important in your life than to get your ass over there to the funeral and show support for our BROTHER that was killed. I couldn't believe some excuses i was hearing of why people weren't going. Just made me so sick and sad. This was our brother damnit!! I don't care if you gotta get a babysitter, wake up early, whatever, EVERY ONE of us should have been there. It should be like court, just suck it up and go. Or like St. Jude's, get up and get there no matter what the inconvienence. There was a good turnout, and i'm so glad that many think like i do. That this was a MUST attend, not optional. And to those that didn't, you should be called out for your selfishness and selfcenterness that you couldn't even take a couple hours out of your day to get there. Shame on you. God forbid this happen again i would like it to be similiar to st. jude where there's just a sea of blue showing their love and support. After all, any day that could be your funeral we're attending.
I just got home from the funeral. Great turn out by CPD to say goodbye to one of our own. Likewise, great turnout by outside agencies, ISP always does us proud. Also Ofifcers from Indiana, Nebraska and more, Thank You... OT of sorts, saw Commander Rosebrock (ret) on channel 7 news... You were always a class act Commander and this solidifies it in my mind....Also, the fact that you found out who the officers were that were involved in shooting the offender and called them to see how they are doing. As of las tcheck this has not happened by the current upper echelon of the department and Cmmdr Kenny (shame on you, heard good things about you before you made commander)....

Then I would have to say they are really not your friends, and your co-workers are ass-** holes...
from a retied cpd GUY HERE IN ftMEYERS FLORIDA MY MUCH MUCH OFFERED CONDOLENCES TO MY BROTHERS IN BLUE,BUT THE REAL SAD PART OF THIS ALL AND PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF WHAT I SAY , THIS CRAZY BROAD WILL BE DETERMINED TO BE UNFIT TO STAND TRIAL DUE TO MENTAL STATE, THE STATES ATTNY OFFICE IN COOK CNTY IS WORLDS WORST. STAY SAFE AND GET HOME SAFE
Rest in peace once again officer. Sorry it had to be interrupted by hot rod, king daley, other politcians, and a superintendent whose thinks he is but is not one of us. We were blessed to have u as a brother in blue and you WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. You truely were a coppers cop. Godspeed and may you continue to watch over your family from the gates of heaven
I had no problem standing outside in the summer rain. I'd do a lot more if it could only bring back a good man.
What I did have a problem with was the CLTV helicopter to the north. Couldn't hear what was going on inside, despite the speakers, because of the helicopter noise.
Today was a day of tremendous sadness as we laid our fallen college, PO Richard Francis, to rest. It also was a day of incredible pride, pride in the best of the Chicago Police Department and in all of law enforcement. I am not new to this, in almost 25 years I have seen the best and some of the worst at work.
Today was only the best.
I would like to thank all the units of the CPD which came to honor our fallen comrade. It was quite a sight to see so many blue uniforms lined up in silence showing nothing but honor and respect for Ofc. Francis.
I would also like to thank all the suburban police departments that sent officers to today's funeral. Here are but a few: Berwyn PD, Bolingbrook PD, McHenry PD, UIC PD, Cook County Sheriff Department, Harvey PD, Country Club Hills PD, Gary Indiana PD, Minneapolis Minnesota PD and many, many more. Also thanks to the Chicago Fire Department and the many fire departments from other towns and suburbs.
Ofc. Francis' daughter, Amanda, spoke from the heart and inspired spontaneous applause, her words of love and kindness conveyed true feelings and were pure and noble of purpose.
The church was small and could hold only a fraction of all those who came. We officers inside felt the presence of you officers outside, thank you very much. The sight of you all lined up as we left the church was tremendous and awe inspiring.
The 019th District came together today like I haven't seen before. There was no white or black or brown today.
Only Blue.
Today I am enormously proud to be a Chicago Police Officer.
Overall, it was a good farewell to one of our own, who paid the ultimate sacrafice. Turn out was good, the bag-pipers were excellent, as usual, and the presence of the other police departments shows everyone how we are all one of the same. One thing that bothers me, particularly on this day, was seeing Burst (or Brust)wearing OUR uniform. I've learned to live with seeing J-FED wearing one. He is our figure head and when he's seen in public he represents all of us. With that being said, I get upset seeing his FBI buddies wearing the damn uniform, as if they're playing dress-up. Richard Francis, gave 27 years and his life to this department, just to let this jagoff, Burst (Brust) wear the same uniform without ever giving any blood, sweat, or tears. Burst, probably spent most of his FBI career trying to sandbag the working police. F*ck him!
a great turn out at the funeral there could have been more P.O.s there but being so undermanned i just don't know. As for comments heard at the funeral I will make some comments as after some time has passed and mourning period is over. RIP Officer Francis. Aint life great!
Just wanted to mention that while working the 3rd of July, a soldier came and shook our hands and said he was sorry for our loss. Also while working the Taste this weekend, I had several other people approach me with their condolences for what happened to PO Francis and they wished me will and told me to stay safe. Some people do appreciate the police. I don't think you'd hear this much from anyone on the West or South side.
caught a lot of flack and ridicule from friends/co-workers and I'm really pissed about that. I can't think of a more worthy time to allow human emotion to take over.
You know people cope with things differently. To ridicule you was probably their way of avoiding breaking down themselves. A defense mechanism.
I stood at the funeral today and just closed my eyes to slow down the tears as they played amazing grace. I didn't know Officer Francis either, but the loss affects all of us. To hear his daughter's speak just broke me apart.
IN RESPONSE TO SAD BLUE... I FEEL YOUR FRUSTRATION AND ANGER REGARDING YOUR FRIENDS AND CO-WORKERS. THIS IS A TIME WHEN WE ALL SHOULD HAVE THE UTMOST RESPECT FOR EACH OTHERS FEELINGS.I AM RECENTLY MARRIED AND A BABY DUE SOON, I TOO WAS OVERCOME WITH EMOTIONS WHEN THINKING ABOUT THEIR LIVES WITHOUT ME.ITS NOT ABOUT BEING BAD ASS AND HIDING EMOTIONS, ITS ABOUT THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE AND THE PEOPLE WE LOVE(FRIENDS, FAMILY, AND OUR BROTHERS IN BLUE). SO BE PROUD THAT YOU CARED SO MUCH INSIDE THAT THOSE FEELINGS COULD NOT BE RESTRAINED, HOLD YOUR HEAD HIGH AND GOD BLESS.

When we went through, there wasn't a dry eye in the place.
I caught a lot of flack and ridicule from friends/co-workers and I'm really pissed about that....
Dude, where do you work that these assholes ridiculed you far that. I didn't know him either and I almost lost it as well thinking similar thoughts. Nothing to be ashamed of brother.
A HUGE thanks to the State Police and other suburban departments that came to support us, be with us during this difficult time, and to mourn with us. I wish I could have shaken everyone of your hands and say thank you. You were noticed and appreciated.
I am on furlough and came back to attend the funeral. Proud of the CPD that we put on such beautiful funerals, hope we wont have to anytime soon again. It was great to see all the Suburban and out of state Police there also and the Feds also. The slight drizzle and everyone stood out there at attention for the family. Daley and J-Fraud speech sucked. Put in any of our names and it would have worked. Father Nangle's speech was awesome. At least Blago spoke without notes and nothing was written. Maybe he was practicing for when he gets sentenced on a future day. I never knew P.O. Francis but for all of you that did, especially the 019th., God bless you and keep your heads up in the days ahead. God please take care of that family too.

The people who riduiculed you either aren't your friends or they aren't mature enough to "get it" as you do. Bless the fact that you do understand and pray that they will get it before it's too late.
No real cop could walk past P.O. Francis and not have an emotion.
Officer Francis, your family ,and your wonderful friends, I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this very sad time. Officer Francis sounded like an amazing family man and friend to many of you.
A Big Thank You to the volunteers who were near the parking lot passing out bottled water for those who were waiting in line to pay respect to Officer Francis. The media was respectfully kept across the street
I, too attended the wake early.By the time I left the lines to view Richard was around the block and then some. What an honor to have his fellow officers pay tribute to a life well done. God Bless my friend Francis aka Frank. I.m glad we spoke a few weeks ago. It was nice sharing a cup of coffee. RIP by Brother.
The wake had a fantasic turn out. It make me proud to be a CPD copper. And its been a while since I had that feeling. Standing in line for over an hour was such a small token for what P.O. Richard Francis gave.
My heart felt prayers and thoughts to all who have felt P.O. Francis' passing.

************ Truer words were never spoken! I agree - the people/department members who are closest to the officer are kept at arms length so the "gold stars" can sit up front.. it is like being slapped in the face on top of losing a dear colleague/partner/friend..
If your friends and co-workers really gave you flack for crying at the foot of a casket of a fallen police officer then they are not your friends and not worthy of your time....
7/07/2008 12:12:00 PM
I agree, I teared up when I was in the room on the way to the casket.. hell I still cry about officers who were killed 10 years ago.. it hurts to the bone when one of us is murdered like this...
Walking to the church today was interesting. Nobody minded the long walk, five, six, seven blocks for many of us. What was different was the huge number of flags displayed, and the people out on their porches. (Did anybody see the three little kids with their "God bless Officer Francis" signs?) People shouted out words of encouragement and told us repeatedly to 'be careful' and to 'watch yourselves out there'. In 27 years, I've only seen that happen once before, right after 9/11.
I stopped at the 7-11 on the way back. The clerk noticed my gun and unmarked and mentioned she had known him. It took me a second to realize she meant Rick. I know I teared up all over again and she said, 'he comes in here every day, he's such a ... he was such a nice man'. By the time I left, she, her husband and I were in tears.
Growing up I always realized that the police were the "good guys". My dad was the police and I remember being so proud of him as I am today of my husband... Today though the police are not recognized as the good even by little ones and I am so frustrated by that BUT the minute someone feels in danger their first response is to call the police. Has today's society truly lost it's COMMON SENSE? I am outraged at the Mayor (who has needed the help of the police many many times), I am outraged with your Superintendent, I am outraged with the FOP, and also the media. 100% support is needed for our dept and it is time to step up to the plate and raise our voices by any means in doing so.... I will proudly stand behind our police and if the opportunity comes my way, my voice will be heard... Also Mayor Dick I hope the feds hunt you down (your closet full of skeletons will be opening soon, what goes around comes around so much worse). God Bless our Police Officers and keep them safe!!!!
Just a comment on the politicians and J-Fed at the funeral of OUR.....OUR brother Richard Francis...First of all...NOBODY but police officers and family of the officer should be allowed to sit inside the church...these were/are the people who knew and cared about Rich the most...NOT Daley,Weis,Blago,Aldermen etc...Pardon me but you people know NOTHING about what we deal with on a daily basis protecting YOUR interest in this city...making it safe and what do we get for it?? Inadequate equipment, inadequate pay...You people knew NOTHING of the officer who had his life TAKEN from his friends and family but you'll sit there in the front row and "Act" like you care or can feel what we feel....None of you will or can ever feel what we feel...we go out in the street and go to war every day!! We go out and do a job that is incredibly dangerous, thankless and unknown. We do a job that NONE of you would or could do but yet you have the gall to sit in the front row like you are royalty.....Ifany of you vermin had any class ...you would let the real heros sit in those chairs and you would stand to show your reespect to officer Francis and to all of us! We are out there making you look good...protecting YOUR votes and insuring your jobs,re elections etc...and you scoff at us by not providing for us and lying to us...thinking you are better than us. Let me tell you something else...I have been to many funerals since becomming a Chicago police officer almost 15 years ago and I am PROUD of who I am and PROUD to do what I do..I am PROUD of the heroes that have given their lives for us...their brothers...they gave their lives so that we can have a better, safer community...unfortunately..you all look down upon us still....like we are garbage...We are and always will be better than any of you spineless political hacks and you better believe that because it is us who give you your jobs and it is us who go to war so that you can gloat on TV about your olympic dreams....We, the Chicago police officers have the power to control your future..You better NEVER forget that...We are the CPD...Brothers be PROUD of who you are!!! For you are the BEST there is!! GOD BLESS ALL OF US!!!!!!
hats off to DROPKICK MURRPHYS(irish rock band from boston-departed soundtrack) they played at northerlty island 2nite(07jul08). they dedicated their version of FIELDS OF ATHENRYE to Officer Francis.
I could not attend the funeral but I was there in spirit,God Bless all that made it,every unit, every department and every person. I am proud from a distance and I humbly pray that Officer Richard Francis's family and friends find peace. God Bless America's defenders!!!

I have always and always will be there for the officers of the 019 District, but I am tired of people comparing Commander Kenny to me. John and I are different people with different management styles. I talk with him often and I know that he has the same strong feelings of support that I have for the officers of the district. He is a good man and the district is in very good hands. He has had a lot to do during the last few days, including being concerned with the welfare of Rick's family. Please give him a chance to show you how good a job he can do. He has my full support. Please try to keep all of these comments directed toward Rick and what a wonderful man he was. God Bless. I am thinking of you all.
Just to let my brothers in blue know whAT A DICK LT FLINN is FROM THE 001st dist HE DENIED the 3rd watch from attending the wake of a fallen officer. He stated that we dont have the manpower and we did not know him.I have been on the job a long tome but i have never been denied a police officers wake.

I don't get it our these people that think headed,or just rude
The One Hundred Club of Chicago presented a check for $50,000. to Officer Frances' widow.
That great organization steps to the plate, once again.
Every officer in Chicago should belong. But in actuality, few do.
I have been a member for years, And you are correct the 100 club gives yet takes nothing in return, There is nothing negative about them. Its all good, give to an organization of all volunteers. along with accountability each year I receive a detailed statement. no lies

There was a time that the only way to "join" the Hundred Club was to make a donation of $100,000 or more. (like Oprah) Is that still the same or do they take smaller donations now?

I agree, the Hundred Club is a phenomenal organization. I don't know if its changed, but years ago Police Officers and those who the Hundred Club offer aid to, were not allowed to join. They were supported by private donations from civilians, corporations, etc. and did not want donations from us. This was their way of thanking us for the job that we do. If they have in fact changed their policy I will join today! It is a great organization that deserves our support. Be Safe And Look Out For Each Other!!!
Put the names of the officers' (if that's what you want to call them) on the blog. Then you can see how fast they cry from all the slack and maybe an ass kickin' for putting putting down a fellow officer for expressing his feelings for another fallen officer. RIP Officer FRANCIS may god bless you and your family.
i went to the wake and the funeral and saw the incident that took p.o. francis's life away, yet this job has made my heart a rock with no emotion. i was very sad but could not express it to myself nor to my wife who is also a p.o. and was there next to me. as i seen her cry and could not... for those p.o.'s who do God bless you. theres nothing wrong with that. i just wish i could. this job changes you but try no never forget who you are.
im a jagoff. i was rdo and the wake and funeral were on my days off, i had no plans on going..i guess i was a little scared... i saw that officer lay on the sidewalk the night that it happened. luckily my wife who is also a p.o. convinced me to go to the wake and the funeral... it was one of the best things that i could of done.. im glad i went. there were many many officers who showed their respects for the fallen officer. and im glad i was part of it. i didnt cry but my wife did. and theres nothing wrong with crying and no officer should make fun of another officer at a time like this. i wished i cried but i couldnt, this job makes you numb like a rock.. i hate that part of the job. god bles the fallen p.o. and his family.
I was at the wake on Sunday, and at the funeral on Monday. I would estimate the amount of CPD standing outside was maybe five to six hundred. Where were the rest of the ten thousand or so CPD officers at? I came on my day-off to stand at attention in the stiffling heat for a brother I never knew, so that I could pay him and his family respect. Shame on you, who did not attend. I would like to thank all of the outside agencies that were present. To the Francis family, may God Bless you and be with you always. To Officer Francis, I know that some day we will all see you in heaven. To all of you young guys and salty veterans, let this be a reminder to all of you who have become complacent on this job, it could also happen to you. Keep your equipment up to date, check your firearms daily, and most importantly wear your vest.
Maybe they ridiculed you for crying for yourself and not P.O. Francis. A little egocentric, don't you think?

I think he was spot on. The poster pointed out that the crier" was crying for themself, not the murdered officer. That is what the crier wrote. What's next? Dying our hair blond?

Current law enforcement / firefighters are $50 annually....small price to pay for what they do for our fallen...

Then I think your a jagoff as well.Wakes of fallen officers bring alot of emotion and being at one reminds us all how quick life can be taken from us and those who love us.I am sure the poster felt emotion for Officer Francis and knowing that he lost his life and left behind a family. He caught flack for crying period, probably from a bunch of fake tough guy coppers who think showing emotion is weakness. On the street yes at the wake of a fallen brother no.
I know many people have been asking... The Richard M. Francis Benefit Fund has been set up. All donation can be sent to The Richard M. Francis Benefit Fund Chicago Patrolmen's Credit Union 5310 N. Harlem Chicago, Illinois 60656

As a Paramedic FireFighter in another state I just want to say how sorry I am that you guys lost a Brother.
RIP Officer Francis.
Stay safe and go home in one piece, no matter what it takes.
Officer Francis you made the ultimate sacrifice trying to protect us.You had an impossible task but served the community.Thank you.RIP
10-42
Rest in peace brother. Keep an eye over all of us, we have your watch from here.
I knew Ricky, and I "lost it" when I passed the casket. Anyone that would ridicule someone from crying at a wake is an asshole.

i did the same! thats ridiculous that anyone would give you any grief for crying. even though francis was not known by all it was indeed a sad day for all of us!
To: 07/07/08 12:30:00 AM
Whoever laughed or ridiculed you for crying at a funeral is not a true friend and the others can GFY.
RIP and godspeed, Officer Francis.
HUGS to all our stars... b safe

Dear Chicago Police Officers,
Please know how much the vast majority of the Citizens of CHicago mourn with you today.
Respectfully,
I caught a lot of flack and ridicule from friends/co-workers
---------------------
Never care what other people think, fuck 'em.
BIG Thank you to the RED CROSS !!!!!
Officer Francis you made the ultimate sacrifice trying to protect us.You had an impossible task but served the community.Thank you.RIP
His life was taken, He did not give it.

Rest in peace brother - God bless your family and may His grace and providence over-arch these times for them.
Rest in peace. We are poorer as a city with the loss of a good officer and a good guy. Be safe out there.
I caught a lot of flack and ridicule from friends/co-workers and I'm really pissed about that.
+++++++++++++++
What a bunch of jagoffs. Ignore them.
Channel 5 is carrying the funeral live on their website.
I just saw the picture of Richie, Maggie, Blow-a-goat, and fat Ike at the procession and I want to vomit.
If King Dick actually gave two shits about us and the CFD we wouldn't have to beg for a contract, equipment, manpower, etc.
Rot in hell richie.
the Chicago police put on a great ceremony. my hats off the great men and women who sacrifice so much to get back so little.
RIP officer Francis
God bless you and your family.
Just came from Officer Francis funeral. Very sad and moving. Everyone gave great respect. Also very nice to see all the civilians paying thier respect. Thank you.
I attended today's funeral and for the first time in a while i was proud again to be a Chicago Policeman.
My condolences to the family and colleagues of P.O. Francis.
Rest in Peace.

from a retied cpd GUY HERE IN ftMEYERS FLORIDA MY MUCH MUCH OFFERED CONDOLENCES TO MY BROTHERS IN BLUE,BUT THE REAL SAD PART OF THIS ALL AND PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF WHAT I SAY , THIS CRAZY BROAD WILL BE DETERMINED TO BE UNFIT TO STAND TRIAL DUE TO MENTAL STATE, THE STATES ATTNY OFFICE IN COOK CNTY IS WORLDS WORST. STAY SAFE AND GET HOME SAFE
Rest In Peace.
Thank you all.
RIP and God Bless.
F*ck him!
Thanks. Lt Flinn for letting us go to the wake.Big heart..1st dist rocks
a great turn out at the funeral there could have been more P.O.s there but being so undermanned i just don't know. As for comments heard at the funeral I will make some comments as after some time has passed and mourning period is over. RIP Officer Francis. Aint life great!
God bless you Officer Francis and your family. You will never be fogotten. West side Dick
As a Paramedic FireFighter in another state I just want to say how sorry I am that you guys lost a Brother.
**Thank you very much.
caught a lot of flack and ridicule from friends/co-workers and I'm really pissed about that.

Sleep well-your tears are genuine.
To the Brothers and Sisters that came from as far as Nebraska for the Funeral, the Chicago Police rank and file thank you. Be Safe
Officer Francis, your family ,and your wonderful friends, I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this very sad time. Officer Francis sounded like an amazing family man and friend to many of you.
God Bless and Peace.

Truer words were never spoken!
You never know how many lives you touch.
The One Hundred Club of Chicago presented a check for $50,000. to Officer Frances' widow.
That great organization steps to the plate, once again.
Every officer in Chicago should belong. But in actuality, few do.
100% support is needed for our dept and it is time to step up to the plate
and raise our voices by any means in doing so....

From George Rosebrock:
And a big shout out to the gary indiana police department for making it.
