Doc Marks Ride
Might be one of the last chances to ride the bike before the Toys for Tots ride.
- Hey S.C.C. I know this is not a board that we usually do this but its for kids. Can you please post the following.
The 9th annual Doc Marks Ride For Kids is 5 Oct 08. This ride is a motorcycle ride where the riders bring in toys or donate $25 and these toys and donations go to handicapped kids. For more information please visit the Doc Marks website at www.docmarksrun.com

Looks like a worthy cause. Think I will show up for the food, and have cash and a toy in hand.

From the way most bikers look, they should switch to pedal powered bikes instead. Work off those bellies.
It's a great ride. Very organized. Safety first, of course.
Doc Mark does a great job for these kids/adults.

Dont blame Bacon it was me who asked SCC to post and I want to thank them for doing so. This ride is a great ride and we bring alot of happy faces and smiles to kids that normally dont have much for christmas. To the first poster, so you know last year the ride had about 150 bikes. Its not that big and its a very well paced ride. We have an excellent continental breakfast before and a great party afterwards. Our ride is very safe as we have a company that assists us in blocking intersections with their suv type vehicles along with motorcycle club members so anyone who doesnt like to ride in bike groups need not worry. OFF TOPIC:
I had to laugh when I read in the Slum-times that crook county employees who contribute to their version of our "combined appeal" for charities see 3% of their contribution shaved off the top to go into a "slush fund" that the Cook County Board President has access to. In Strogers defense, this was started by Dunne decades ago.
Still I'm sure they were told, "we gave you a job so you give."
The Chicago way, huh?
I better read the fine print on "our" combined appeal charity form..we're probably being scammed too!
here's to watching each of those cops stopping at each and every stop sign.
dont know who doc mark is but i did the ride last year with a friend and we had a good time. going to do it again this year, thanks for the info. always love to give for kids !!
