NLEMOP Honors CPD Officer
In September 2008, Officer Jamison traveled to Utah to attend a law enforcement training conference. On Saturday, September 13, prior to leaving for the airport to return to Chicago, Officer Jamison stopped for breakfast. What began as a quiet travel day soon took a turn that no one could have predicted.
As Officer Jamison exited the restaurant to wait for his partner, he observed a couple in the parking lot apparently saying goodbye to each other. Before they separated, a stranger approached the couple, walked up to the man, and simply stated, "I'm sorry." With lightening speed he drew a pair of scissors and proceeded to stab the victim in the face, neck, and arms. Officer Jamison witnessed the attack and rushed to help the victim and subdue the assailant.

is this the same officer jamison that teaches firearms in the academy.. if so, good guy....and a smartass!!!! all joking aside who ever the officer was fantastic job and ill see you in washington.
.40 is strictly business.
In addition, he is a Certified Firearms Instructor with the Spartan Tactical Training Group...
Can't say enough about taking courses from Spartan. Great instructors.
Great job Vince!!
Good job!!
Great job office! To bad you didn't smoke the bad guy.
Officer Jamison worked the range when i was in the academy. Actually helped people and was very humble. He knew not all of us grew up shooting guns and would do anything he could to help you out. Not suprised to hear about what he did in Utah. Unlike old man J-T (just pull the trigger and do it!) who worked the range, Jamison just wanted you to feel at ease. Thanks Vince! SQUEEZE!!!!!
THANKS OFFICE... U DONE GOOD
Did the officer at least give the restaurant a positive review on Yelp?!
Wow. It's a shame that it even happened. Sick freak!
GREAT job by the off duty. Kudos!
Be safe out there.
Great job officer!! You make us all proud
Well done, Vince!
You do us proud. The good Mormon folks certainly owe you a St. Patrick's Day case or two of fine Irish whiskey--preferably your namesake JAMESON!
Chase it down with a pint of Guinness on me
Congratulations Vince on a job well done. We still miss you here 014 brother!
That's REAL POLICE work.
Surprised he didn't pop the guy in the head from his seat while chewing a mouthfull of pancakes. Nice JOB office!! Great teacher also, had him in the academy.
Off-topic but important, 12 years ago today the North Hollywood Shoot-out occurred:
''...two heavily-armed and armored bank robbers and patrol and SWAT officers of the Los Angeles Police Department on February 28, 1997. Ten officers and seven civilians sustained injuries before both robbers were killed...
Local patrol officers at the time were typically armed with a 9 mm or .38 Special pistol on their person, with some having a 12-gauge shotgun available in their cars..."
Be safe; prepare for the worst; back each other up; God bless.
Thank you Officer Jamison, for your courage and for making us proud! Thank you for your service to our country as well. You are the perfect example of someone who should be meritoriously promoted. I hope it happens. Great job!
Great job Vince. A genuine good guy.
I will never forget he called me several times when I was being screwed by the department to check on me and my family.
A class act
Vince is a great instructor and an awesome human being. I'm proud to know him.
THE WHITE DEVIL SAYS. Vince is the man. Great instructor great guy. Knows more about AR15 than anyone I have ever met. Good job Vince.
Why wont we see this story on the front page of any news paper? Because the mayor wont allow it! Like we can that fast eddie got off with not jail time. We all new that would happen.
This guy was on local newspapers and we considered him a hero. A friend of mine told that if this would have happened in chicago, the media would have put a negative spin to it.
Officer Jamison is a great guy. Best instructor down there by far. Spent lots of time helping recruits feel comfortable with a gun, something that many of us didn't know much about before the job. Just saw him on my way into a seminar at the academy a few weeks ago. Glad he's okay and also good job on stepping into what could have been a lethal situation OFF DUTY! Good job Vince!
GREAT JOB OFFICE

NO FOUL PLAY WAS SUSPECTED????
So now Death by bullet is a natural death ?
WTF?
.
When is JK of Sparta coming back to the job? This is definitely a good plug for him and his viable training program.
Way to go Vince! This story has been out there for a while. Let's hope that nothing negative comes from this by the way of the Dept. since he's getting some publicity. Great P.O. from the time he was in 014 and always willing to help out the younger P.O's. If Jodie come's to your house, Jamieson, let the Rottweilers out.
Great guy....anyone need to know ANYTHING about your weapon, he knows the answer. nice work office!
no shit...............he's a great guy.....nice job
Thank you Officer Jamison. And, although, your heroics will probably go unnoticed by the Chicago media and our city government your actions are dearly appreciated.
It is an honor to know you Vince.
You are a credit to this F'd up department.
If only the media would realize that things like these happen every single day, but are only reported when we F'up. You are great shot, but let's just say, you would have grazed the victim who was being slashed, what would the headlines have been?
"Overfed cop maims bystander?" or "Off duty cop recklessly fires into crowd"
By the way great piece (of a$$ Davlantez?) on NBC the other night. You sounded great, and made rifle program look good. She made em look better...
Now if we could just sign em out...
