- CPS has voted to go ahead and close a number of schools for under-enrollment or poor performance.
The school system had slated 22 under-enrolled or struggling schools for closing or reorganization, but Chief Executive officer Ron Huberman took six schools off the list Monday after hearing from parents, teachers and others at public hearings
In all, 16 schools will be closed or consolidated
Oh, you mean they are re-opening some of the schools? Crap - we thought they were going out of business and saving money for the Olympic dreams.

think of the gang violence as these future brain surgeons are forced to go to school in rival areas. anyone who sends their child to cps should be charged with child neglect. i worked in chicago high schools third world at best. but they do their job, all of their students come out voting democrat and needing the goverment to wipe their ass.
Let's hope that Tilden gets closed down soon. It is nothing more than a breeding ground for gangbangers who launch bricks and bottles at squad cars. We need 5 squads tied down so these animals can walk down the middle of the street and run amok, chasing down rival gang members and bashing in windows of vehicles occupied by elderly hospice nurses. Then after they shatter a squad car window occupied by two promising, productive human beings, they are released to their guardians. What a fucking joke.
But with Richie's residency requirement, we have no public school choice...so we have to suck it up on these shit salaries and pay outrageous private school tuition. Just to not have to have our children in the same building with these savages.
There is a good CPS high school out here but I'm not letting the secret out.
so close down these shit schools, and take the shit students who cause the problems and send them to halfway decent schools and turn them into shit schools, WTF!!!

Speaking of CPS what about the 40 or so dumb MFin teachers that protested down to the 010th district yesterday from Little Village Academy complaining about the way the police handle the gang fights after school everyday. Then the commander coming down and pacifying with some bullshit and pulling a CR# on the desk officer. Way to have our backs assholes!!!! Try giving us some freakin manpower. Tell them teachers to get fucked because they are doing a horse shit job to begin with molding these children into the savage gang members they have become.

How about making the schools strictly "neighborhood schools" and live or die by the results? Why does so much absolute crap from south of Irving end up going to Taft? I live a block away and couldn't possibly even think of sending my children there! It's a damn shame: the amount of taxes I pay to have a nice home in a decent neighborhood but they need several squad cars and a useless POD cam on the corner just to try and prevent a riot after school. I am about as anti-Catholic Church as they come, yet I have no other choice...What's Notre Dame up to these days? How depressing...

Close all of the schools on academic warning. Either that or do like the suburbs, you have to LIVE in the district to go to it. No more ghetto lottery. Why can they come to our neighborhood and feel safe, yet we would not be safe in theirs?????????

Actaully the number of students from out of district is about a
1/3rd of what it was at one time.
They're primarily accepting students from the neighboring feeder schools. I guess it's easier to point fingers, piss bitch & moan then actually do something constructive?

They don't come here to feel safe, the come here to make us NOT feel safe, steal our stuff, and in general cause trouble.
Strengthening the Castle Doctrine and legalizing CCW would minimize their boldness when committing crimes not on their own turf, but instead all we get are lousy empty promises.
I work in 008 and they are buliding 2-3 schools and have the land and what looks like plans for a forth. Why if we are closing schools are we bulding new ones. Just a little confused.

Do something constructive, like WHAT? Oh, I know, what I'm already doing: send my kids to a private school at some outrageous costs to me. I am fucking sick of this City, paying high taxes that include these fucking public schools that I can't send my own kids to because of the rampant drug and gang activity. Besides voting out the fucking democrats, what do you propose we do? We already police the fucking town, are we supposed to become foster parents for all these welfare rats, too?

The exact same thing hapened at little village high school in which teachers were beat up and many students arrested. The next day teachers showed up at police station and complained, blaming CPD for the whole incident and many officers recieved CR's.
