Preventive Maintenance?
So someone forgot to oil the bearings? Tune up the lift engine? Grease the locks?
The first day of spring boat season was interrupted Saturday afternoon after a deadbolt on the Michigan Avenue bridge became stuck, blocking boat and vehicular traffic for more than an hour.
The Michigan Avenue bridge -- just one of 20 bridges expected to be lifted Saturday along the main and south branches of the Chicago River -- became stuck about 12:30 p.m. on the first day of the spring boat run, when boats go from winter storage to Lake Michigan harbors...
We're just going to guess that Shortshanks "diverted" the money that should have been spent on bridge maintenance into the Olympic fund. It's completely possible and sounds like something he'd do. He certainly isn't giving us anything.

Daley operates with more than a few "loose screws". He figured if he can survive, so can the bridges.

Of course. Everything is for show, it don't have to work does it?
what more can you expect from that pos? The 50 sit there and say "ya master" to everything never a complaint,as daley stuffs their pockets with "our" money also! It is incredible to watch the 50 cowards just pass everything without any controversary!

Saw Dept. Notice for Sgts. Lts. and Cpt.s to go to the Performance Evaluation training @ the Academy before the end of June.
My guess.....
Now that everything is on computer...Arrests, disciplinary things possibly soon (traffic citaions parkers etc.) on top of medical abuse and attendance etc. etc.
There will be more scrutinizing from the top down of the "dogs" or those that want to remain or go to specialized units based on evaluations.
In other words no more "favoritism" by the Sgt.s to float everybody by with high grading if they are not doing anything or abusing the system!
Why?
Because now they can see if the Sgt or Lt. or Cpt. is doing their job properly by assessing the individual properly...
Might hurt those desiring tuition reimbursement or getting that SWEET spot!
Maybe I am wrong but who knows....

When is shortshanks going to lease the bridges? The Lessee can then install tollbooths and make a killing.
This could only help the tax revenue.

Alread know of a guy who lost a spot due to his medical use. He had no major illness, just many, many, separate occassions where he had a cold connected to his days off. He was warned.

Apparently his clout wasn't good enough! Yeah and i know people who have been on the medical longer than they been on the street?!!! Can you say "cloutheavy"!!!!!! I still call em dogs! You cant even come to work and sit at a desk answering phones to collect a paycheck? Your doctor says you have to stay home yet other officers see you walking around perfectly fine shopping, AT A SHOOTING RANGE!, playing ball with the kids at the park in plain-view of other hard working coppers?...And then when your approached and an off-duty says "oh i see your feeling better " your answer is " Oh not really i have multiple surgeries left to finish" we all know your truly a dog! We all know its the whole holding out for permanent disability thing , blah blah but really do us all a favor and hide out in your house or travel to the boonies where no one knows you and dont flaunt it within your own police inhabited neighborhood! Whewwwww!!!! You would think this came from a personal experience now don't ya?!!!!
