We are often called on to translate "Daley-speak" and expected to report what he meant to say, rather than what he actually said.
Tonight, we knew what he meant to say, we were given his prepared remarks. But when the time came to say, 'We screwed up', the words never passed his lips.
Hubris, thy name is Daley. This guy can't even follow a prepared script that would have generated a modicum of good will in the tiniest of tiny-brained voters. We have a feeling he's going to announce shortly that he isn't seeking re-election, so he figures why bother saying something we all know he never meant anyway.

SCC, I usually agree with a large majority of what is said on this blog, but I gotta say that I think you are wrong on him not running for another term. I do hope you are right, but on this one, I just can't see that happening.
I attended the 50th (and final) community forum regarding the (Chalkie) 2016 Bid tonight at the Palmer House, "hosted" by my 42nd Ward alderman Brendan Reilly. (Yeah, he's better than Natarus, and yeah, he fought Daley over the Childrens Museum land grab, but I still don't trust him).
Rather that trying to verbally express my utter dismay at Pat Ryan's consummate skills at spinning and deflecting, I will simply try to leave you with an annotated image:

There are some SERIOUSLY wormy people on that "back the bid" committee. And it was pretty evident that there were planted shills in the crowd during the Q&A.
And he will win in the 19th, and 23rd ward with over 98% of the vote. Wake the fuck up already.

There's no apology needed. Quarters are available at banks and Currency Exchanges but these criminals wanted free parking and machines that accept credit cards.

Because I've been saying it for awhile now, even here on the blog, and I agree.
Come October 2nd, all questions will be answered. If we get this Olympics shoved down our throats, the Stuttering Prick's biggest criminal endeavor will become reality.
He will announce that he will not seek re-election! This could be tied to a plea bargain with the Dept. of Justice who will then agree not to prosecute him for past "indescretions as Mayor".
He will endorse Ron Huberman for Mayor, (he's been groomed to do it and has the experience in Policing, OEMC, Public Transportation and Public Education to be the next 20 year Mayor).
Huberman, in exchange, will appoint Daley to become chairman & CEO of Chicago 2016.
From there, Shortshanks can PERSONALLY oversee each and every illegal, no bid or fixed bid Olympic contract, providing all of the members of the Daley/Burke Crime Families with BIG retirement scores. This will also continue to allow Maggie and the rest of the extended Daley clan to travel the world on "Olympic fact-finding missions", all on the taxpayers dime.
Of course, they'll all still need their armed CPD butlers and handmaidens to follow them and carry their suitcases and run all of their errands, as well, also on the city's dime.
Either way, Daley will go to his grave never having worked a real job his whole life, and living off of the hard work of the Chicago taxpayer.
Oh yeah, and if, come October 2nd, we ARE NOT awarded, the 2016 Olympics? Well, it won't be pretty! The entire Chicago Crime network will shudder in the throes of a coronary at the thought of their millions of dollars of bribe money going unrewarded. I guess our petty local criminals pale in comparison to the sophisticated professional thieves running the International Olympic Committee!

He will resign then and appoint Patrick "The war Hero" as mayor!
