It's a photo of him dressed as Santa, his sack full of promotions for the incompetent, never-been-the-police suckasses and indictments and suspensions for all the coppers who've been "naughty".
In the sack, there are also gift-wrapped boxes rumored to contain: transparency in promotions, working cars and equipment and support for the troops, but these are discovered to be empty once shaken to determine the contents.

I'm not a huge J-Fed fan, but lets put things in perspective. He did screw up big time with Cozzi, and immediately lost respect and gained contempt which he'll never get back. However, that being said, I do drive a new Tahoe, which I do enjoy (and if it wasn't new Tahoe's we could have gotten new Crown Vic's, the point is it's a new car) we now have a rifle program, which I never thought would exist, and we're switching to new work schedule programs, which I also never thought would exist. Aside from hiring 1,000 more officers, which we all know J-Fed doesn't control, and lifting residency requirements, which he also doesn't control, what else could we ask for? We can now carry Glocks, and you can sign up for all types of training through E-Learning. I for one think the department has finally started moving forward towards a more modern department. I'm not a house mouse, just beat cop in a busy district that is finally glad to see our department, despite all it's problems, making some changes for the better. I think Daley and the liberals in this city are much more to blame for our low morale than J-Fed. It was in the shitter before he got here, and it will be in the shitter when he leaves.
When he goes in 2011, hopefully all the BS general orders go too. Like forcing everyone to get glocks after Dec 31, 2009.

Create your own morale. Honestly I could care less about Jody weiss, Richard Daley or anyone else, that is not directly tied to me. I care about my family and friends and they give me the morale I need to get up and live my life and that's all you need to do is just live your life. Do your job to the extent that makes YOU happy. If it's chasing people with guns, chase them if it's writing tickets write them if it's going from call to call then do that. Don't do anything to create more stress for you and your family, laugh off criticism, don't do anything to compromise your wellbeing. All this other shit, blow it off! Remember 98% of people (including the police) go through life with no REAL problems, understand that...take it to heart and be thankful for it. Every big city copper I have known for the last 30 years thinks FBI stands for:

It is like comparing watermelons to tangerines. We lock up people every night and they work cases. In districts like 11/15 or 7/8 more people are arrested in a good week that the whole Chicago FBI office locks up in their careers. And when we lock up a bad guy with a violent past we feel good about it. These jerks would rather let ten serious felons go to get one of us. And when one of them screws up they get transferred to the other part of the country. The only reason Ambrose got charged was he was from a police family and who his dad was and that comes straight form the mouths of other U.S. Marshals who also love the FBI as much as we do.
If we have to live in this City...we should be compensated accordingly...our raises do NOT keep up with the inflationary costs of living in Chicago. I made more 20 years ago as a copper than I make today...so give me a fuckin break and give me my fuckin well deserved raise that still will keep me in the poor house!!!! Everyone is dreaming. Remember, it is richard m. daley who will be making any decision on any new superintendent of police so any chance of getting an actual good leader will be a mere coincidence.
The chances of that happening are about the same as 42 short suddenly deciding to fully fund the police pension fund and to declare there will be a new contract in place prior to expiration of the old one.
When that happens I can expect Tiger Woods sister-in-law Josefin (Elin's identical twin sister) to find me and decide she can't live without this 50 something overweight policeman.

While I believe we should not be yelling from the rooftops about our raise, we should also not cave in because of the economic dowturn. Once you give in, the city will forecer jam it up your arse. Our contract expired prior to the Clinton housing collapse, and the alderpersons seem to begetting bumps in everything. We should wait it out and not sell our souls like the Lts. did for something the city wants too..55 and out.
Weis is the tip of the iceberg, you think his replacement will be better..think again. This department is full of corruptocrats who deal in clout and nothing else. They have allowed the leadership to deteriorate beyond saving. No boss will make a decsion, they act like accountants, but without the brains, and they definitely wont stand up to the ASAs (see previous post), to the alderpersons (see 003rd District), or the media. This not a semi military organization, it is a political organization.

(OT) Now the taxpayers with metered water are being forced to have automated meters installed,which will of course raise the water bills sky high! But wait daley awarded a contract to a wisconsin company for 40 MILLION dollars to do this work! I agree,they have sent our home a "red letter threat" staiting if we don't call them and schedule them to come over they will shut off our water! How about trying that shit over in 007? jagoffs! I'm not a huge J-Fed fan, but lets put things in perspective. He did screw up big time with Cozzi, and immediately lost respect and gained contempt which he'll never get back. However, that being said, I do drive a new Tahoe, which I do enjoy (and if it wasn't new Tahoe's we could have gotten new Crown Vic's, the point is it's a new car) we now have a rifle program, which I never thought would exist, and we're switching to new work schedule programs, which I also never thought would exist. Aside from hiring 1,000 more officers, which we all know J-Fed doesn't control, and lifting residency requirements, which he also doesn't control, what else could we ask for? We can now carry Glocks, and you can sign up for all types of training through E-Learning. I for one think the department has finally started moving forward towards a more modern department. I'm not a house mouse, just beat cop in a busy district that is finally glad to see our department, despite all it's problems, making some changes for the better. I think Daley and the liberals in this city are much more to blame for our low morale than J-Fed. It was in the shitter before he got here, and it will be in the shitter when he leaves.

Hey, kid…Try not to remain clueless your whole career! Your “New” Car/Tahoe had very little to do with J-Fraud. The Department needed new cars, and we were budgeted for them. Mongoloid just had the City look at Tahoes as well. Want something interesting, look into the contract, and why a suburban dealer got it.
The Carbine program came from the City’s “Da ‘Limpik” bid. “Da ‘Limpik” committee had concerns about security, and the Department’s response to any type of terrorist incident. The Striker-Fired program was in place before J-Fraud came to town; thank Supt Cline for that one! The new work schedules, Ok, I’ll give him that… but I guarantee that we’ll be bitching about the 4-2 soon!

The days of aggressive police work in the city are over. No contract, greatly understaffed, poorly equipped (Tahoes suck), villified(sp) by the press and the public and not supported by the Supreme Court. If this 4-2 schedule somehow doesn't take effect...Mayor Quinby and Chief Wiggam are in trouble.
