Another Nail for Quinn

The Accidental Governor receives even more bad news:
  • The Illinois seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for December 2009 went up by two-tenths of a percentage point from November and is now at 11.1 percent, according to figures released Friday by the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES).

The three-month moving average also increased 0.2 percent to 11.0 percent. Slight increases and decreases in the unemployment rate are to be expected in a national recession, according to a release from IDES.

But the major problem no one is speaking of is that these jobs are leaving Illinois and they aren't coming back. The unfriendly business environment is making Illinois a difficult place to open and maintain any type of manufacturing job. Construction? Few and far between. Even politically connected road work is suffering and we see even bigger problems down the road as taxpayers get fed up with the Illinois Combine.

It's even worse than going to prison isn't it? When everyone picks up their bats and balls and goes home. Especially when home is in another state and nobody want's to play with you any more. It's lonely at the top isn't it King Daley?

SCC is spot on with its conclusion that the jobs are not coming back. Illinois has 3 times fewer citizens than California yet is second only to California in the amount of its deficit. In order to resolve the financial problems in this state the next governor and the legislature must cut spending dramatically to keep from having to raise taxes. Higher taxes will drive employers away due to the fact that they can move their businesses to another state for more favorable tax treatment.
Both Quinn and Hynes have pledged that if elected, they will raise taxes, including the income tax rate by more than 50%. This is exactly the wrong thing to do to resolve the financial crisis. More than 1 million people moved from New York state after its last round of tax increases thereby shrinking the tax base resulting in less revenue for the state. More than one thousand people a day now move out of California due to its tax structure which has forced employers, and in their wake employees, to leave.
Unless and until Illinois elects some leaders with the political courage to eliminate the waste and corruption in government and make tough economic decisions, the jobs will continue to go and the population which is the tax base will continue to shrink resulting in even less tax revenue.
Illinois needs to elect someone from the private sector who has run a business to manage this state. We do not need another denizen of the "political class" who have never held real jobs and whose entire careers are merely seeking one elective office after another to be elected governor.

And once again the unions are pushing hard to get the members to back Quinn.

Fuck you SEIU aka ACORN, and thanks again for sticking it up the ass of UNITII. Fuck your beloved democRATs. I will never vote for or claim to endorse these assholes.

Quinn has done nothing to improve the state. In fact, he's made it worse. Daley, Stroger and 99% of the city council make our lives miserable living in this city and you ask us to endorse them?

I dare you to answer this question:

How can democRATs be the source AND solution to all of our problems?

We keep working our asses off for these politicians to piss it away.

I recently had to go out to a nice south suburb on an investigation. I had to meet with a Chicago gang member who was shot gangbanging. He lived in a half million dollar home courtesy of section 8.

You know, we can't strike because it is against state law and against our contract. But we sure as hell can support another union whose members DO go out on strike! I know, just not on duty. But off duty, carrying signs, bringing coffee, goddamn fucking right!

Teamsters, go on strike against 42 short, this FOP member supports your right to strike.

None of these candidates have never answer the question of what they will do for the citizens of Illinois. Not even our state Senators, Durbin and Burris. They all look out for themselves and no one else. They all have deep pockets....ours. If this state wants....really wants to get out of debit....it needs to stop the spending. It needs to stop the borrowing. This state and even the whole country should be run as a company. With checks and balances. The very reason why we are in the mess we are in, is the fact there are none of these in place. This state needs to revise the pension funds. It needs to revise the health programs that of the state employees. They should start paying their fair share. In the private sector, they do, why not them, too? Also the state medicare programs should be streamlined. We should have a businessman running the show. Get rid of the Madigans and the others who are putting a stop to progress! No taxes are really needed. Just stop the spending. If the politicans keep doing what they are doing....Illinois jobs are leaving and NOT coming back!! Start improving on education, the infrastructure, the interest of companies begging to work in Illinois and being a part of the solution. If not.....we'll be in bigger trouble and will NEVER get out from all this mess, even if we raise taxes every six months!!! If either "Gov. Jellohead" or "Danny" gets in....gab your ankles and feel the pain!! I'm just saying....
