St. Baldrick's Update
Once again, the St. Baldrick's Organization has requested the assistance of the men and women of the Chicago Police Department in 2010. For those unfamiliar, St. Baldrick's is an organization that raises money that goes towards research of a cure for childhood cancer. Participants agree to shave their heads in support of the kids who lose there hair in chemo treatments, and seek pledges for doing so. Participants with longer hair are also able to donate hair longer than 12" to be used by "Locks of Love" to make wigs for the patients that do lose their hair.
This year's event will be held on Friday, March 19, 2010 from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Training Academy, Area 2, and Area 5 and we hope to surpass last year's total of over $96,000.00 raised to help fight this horrible disease that has impacted so many of us.
Please go to www.stbaldricks.org and under "find an event" type in Chicago Police in the venue box and choose your location. If you are returning from last year, simply use your login information and click on register for 2010’s event.

Off the topic but on a prior post: With regards to all the manpower issues, where is the FOP? They should be on the news every night with outrage. The citizens of Chicago should know where their police officers are and more importantly are NOT! Is it because Donahue has put in his papers and is taking advantage of the 55 healthcare plan. Yes it is! As sais before on this blog, thats why the FOP pushed for the 55insurance option so hard. Hey SCC, see who else on the FOP board is leaving with that benefit. There are quite a few.
Remember you don't have to have your head shaved to participate. (I'm trying to save what little I have left)

I did it and received my card. Follow the directions on the sheet of paper it comes with and the the directions on the telephone when you call to activate it. (READ ALL OF THE DIRECTIONS ENTIRELY BEFORE YOU CALL) Otherwise you'll re-directed to India. (no lie) GO DIRECTLY TO A CHASE BANK NEAR YOU and cash it in and make sure you get everything on that temporary account. Signed, Got $150.00 back, which is less than half my property tax increase.

IAD has nothing to do with this, it's IPRA/State's Attorney's pushing it all the way. It was in the news last year when it "allegedly" happened. Heard IPRA is going to hang the supervisor's from 014 who handled the original incident and tried to help the drunken fool out.
Property tax relief refunds are in the mail in the form of a debit card. Hope you don't need to call customer service because you will be talking to someone in India. The card is from Chase bank.
Thanks for the relief mr mayor. I believe that Bill Daley had something to do with chase bank. Note the fees on these cards. I'm sure this is all legit. I'm just being a stick in the mud

Dont be fooled, old man Killackey is part of the Daley, Burke, Vanecko, Byrne, and Killackey crime families. Retired with a great pension from the police dept and now has a high paying job at OEMC. I cant understand why the news media isnt all over this stuff with the super pension then landing great jobs in other city agencies. Byrne,Killackey etc... the list goes on and on!

Enough with the clout excuse. Cops with and without clout do dum shit all the time. Just be in 018 on any given weekend and see it first hand. Shit is handled and coded with everyone happy and getting home safely. When possible you should attempt to smooth things over if it cant then do what you have to. And those that think they are holier than thou and never mess up you are only kidding yourself. One day you will need a hand getting out of a jam and hopefully the cop will do what they can to help. Take care of each other because no one else will.
