More drama from 35th Street:
- Fact- It seems that Mr. Mike Masters is in a little hot water. He was recently in a some trouble with Da Mayor and got yelled at. We are sensing a little trouble in paradise. Here is the best part. He was later overheard talking shit about his boss (Da Mayor). It seems that Masters now thinks he is better than the guy that put him there and we quote "can't wait for him to leave." There are eyes and ears everywhere. Let's see who lasts longer Masters or the Mayor. Any bets?
What makes Masters think he has any sort of future in this Department once J-Fled has outlived his usefulness? He's done nothing but make enemies since he got here. As another commentator pointed out, it must be galling to a Harvard educated lawyer to be taking orders from someone who couldn't pass the bar exam.

We all know what happened to John Harris, we can only hope something similar happens to Masters.
This is exactly why the totality of the department is so f'd up. Every single one of the top exempt of this department are absolute idiots driven by egos. Their decisions are made without regard to the safety of officers or citizens alike. They disregard rules, regulations and city, state and federal laws.
Beneath these aholes are another level of inept exempts, who were police officers once upon a time. This level is petrified of opening their mouths to the tip top level. That is why no logic or common sense is left at 35th Street, and nothing but lies keep rolling down hill to us and to the public.
The policemen, their families, residents, and visitors have to suffer irreplacable losses due to Daley's mismanagement of the police department.

They did that in 024 a couple of years back. They both were sent to 023. The reason they used? MANPOWER NEEDS. Oh, and they were not detailed. They were transferred.
Why these two, I don't know. All I do know is that one had (at the time) around 10 years and the other had about 25. They grieved it and won. They both had bid spots on 3rd watch.

Daley screams at everybody. Masters is already in the Department Daley uses to dump those he finds disfavor with. Masters will be here as long as Daley is boss and he wants him here. While we see how the Dept. is being destroyed, city hall is very happy with J-Fed. All Daley cares about is the business that the machine generates, not the fall out. No one will kick Masters out if J-Fed leaves. And, Masters will just cozy up to who ever takes the Mayors place. Just read "The Prince" by Machiavelli and you will understand Masters and even J-Fed and Daley better.

Seeing as how the time frame has closed to file to as a republican if no one ran for one on 02 FEB 10. Anyone has till JUN 14 to 20 JUN to file to run as an independant. However there are some pro and cons to this. The pros are that you will be listed as an indepentant on the ballet and may have an outside change to win. The cons ---money, and the required sigs needed to get onto the ballet. To run county wide you will be to obtain 25,000 sigs. To run in the subcircuit it varies but about 5,000 sigs are needed. Now some of these subciruits are half in the city and burbs. So like I stated it is possilbe to get lucky. Next if you look at alot of these people who won the 2 FEB 10 ecletion have been all considered Not Recommended by the State City Bar assoc. its pretty sad. These are the people who will be hearing our cases that have no clue are are haters. SO WILL ALL THIS TALK OF GETTING Political here is your chance. I am offering to help anyone who wishes to attempt this. Lets start with the judges and if people are interested I will post the sigs required to run for the upcoming city electios. Those are ALOT less in number of the required sigs needed to run. But my thinking is no one cares about the Judges so if we get some guys with good names we have a chance. The only requirement to run for Judge is that you must be a lawyer and lived in the subciruit for a year. Not really. The Speaker of the Illinois House wants a “Gun Control Week” declared. In addition, “Speaker of the House Mike Madigan may require that the House of Representatives remain in session until it passes Daley’s 2010 gun control package,” according to an email alert sent out by the Illinois State Rifle Association. Daley proposes the following raft of unconstitutional legislation:
HB180 – a scheme to run gun shops out of business by forcing shops to get licensed and comply with a slew of burdensome regulations.
HB5480 – would ban private firearm sales and force citizens to process private sales through licensed gun shops. (Yes, those are the same gun shops that will be run out of business by HB180 above)
HB5495 – would prohibit law-abiding citizens from purchasing more than one gun per month. Of course, criminals are exempt from this gun-rationing scheme.
HB5751 – would give you 90 days to surrender all your semiautomatic rifles, pistols and shotguns to the state police or face felony prison time.
HB5849 – would make it a felony to use a case other than one designed for a firearm to transport it and give the police greater power to confiscate your guns for “improper transportation” even if you have committed no other crime.
HB6123 – would make it a felony to sell a firearm to someone who looks like a gang member (ie: Black, Hispanic, shaved heads (all races), tattoos (all races), motorcyclists (all races), etc.)

As a former Chicago resident, I can tell you that just about the only people on the street with illegal guns are “gang-bangers,” that is to say drug dealers and their executioners. Home invaders and assorted criminal thugs come in second. Closing down gun shops and forcing law-abiding residents to turn in their rifles and shotguns will not ameliorate the situation — it will make it worse. Home invaders will become fearless if they know the population is completely disarmed.
I lived on the west-side of Chicago. Most of the people I knew owned guns to protect themselves. If Daley and his bureaucrats pass these laws, residents will become insta-felons. Daley is telling city residents they have no right to protect themselves and their families.
Now the state wants to put the National Guard on the streets. This is basically a public relations stunt (and intimidation of law-abiding citizens) and will do nothing to end drug dealing and its associated turf war violence.
Instead of decriminalizing drugs and allowing residents the right to protect themselves, Daley and the Illinois Senate will turn Chicago into a large prison camp (or larger than it already is) with National Guard soldiers making sure the inmates cannot protect themselves. Residents with firearms will be no different than the residents of Baghdad. Armed soldiers trained to kill and break things will be assisting the cops in breaking down doors and hauling citizens off to prison.
Plato also, in his writings, seems to prefer a Spartan-type regime over a democratic one.

The following refers to an incident in Tulsa. Sounds like something that would happen here:
At 3 a.m. on Feb. 28, a young man was shot multiple times outside Chicken Hut, a fast-food joint in north Tulsa. Three officers arrived in minutes but were outnumbered by a hostile crowd of perhaps 150 people. Some were so intent on getting their chicken, they stepped over the wounded man, who eventually died, to reach the take-out window.
Sgt. Mike Huff, a veteran homicide detective, said it took a half-hour to get enough officers there to control the crowd. By then, some witnesses had left. Police haven't identified a suspect.

Harris is the former Deputy Supt of Administrative Services (around 1999-2000). Later, he was Blago's aide and was arrested the same day as Blagojevich. The Harris kids are in grammar school, so it's unlikely that one of them is on the job.

You guys are out of luck. The only way to will get any relief is the death of Daley and ALL of his powerful supporters. I feel for you, but your blanket condemnation of Democrats (outside of Shitcago) leaves me cold. I'm a Downstate guy, out in another state. Downstate has always supported making Chicago (we can spell it right, if we want to) a new state. It would make the rest of Illinois a whole lot better, and reduce the drain on Downstate.
It's really a shame. Chicago has all the potential to be a great city. I've spent many great days there, in past years, before I was too put off by the violence. I live elsewhere in the Midwest now, but I have a lot of friends there, who are getting nervous, even though they are great Chicago supporters and live in "safe" neighborhoods. I live in a safe neighborhood, and the local gang scum know that their life expectancy is near zero if they come here, and the local police would help me clean up before they write their reports.
The citizens of the "Shitty City" (that's what downstate teenagers called you thirty years ago) need to rise up and kick out the political gangsters. That's right. However, the ultra far-right political crap that a lot of you spew only drives those who might otherwise support you away. Find a centrist. Even if you are a foaming-at-the-mouth fanatical right-wing wing-nut, you would find a centrist better than the Daley asshole family, and far more electable. If you quibble over "how far right am I" you will lose for centuries.
Get rid of the top jerks, and the situation may change fast. If you aren't too fussy about how you get rid of them, it may happen faster. Look at the history of Boss Tweed.

"Things" have been like this since Chicago was established. The roots are way too deep. This is the way it is and will always be. With Chicago roots now in Washigton its a great time for Daley not to seek re-election to keep his friends and family in the thick of things. Washington will make sure Rahm Emmanuel gets elected to keep the Democratic machine well oiled and in tune...Don't worry.

Why don't you take the time and look it up under the current contract on the F.O.P. website? Or get a contract book. You can than be the know it all authority and site the chapter and article. Why waste posts speculating? Is that how you would make an arrest? Assume that you have the right charge, probable cause, etc... This really isn't that hard! Or just lazy?

I've been saying that since I got here. And I should know.
I second an atta boy section. Ironically, I was drinking my morning coffee Today and searching the Internet and I realized how negative I became about a half hour into my day. Then I realized this happens to me everyday! I've now made a resolution to not read any news outlets atleast through the summer just to see if it changes my disposition, I'll let you know the outcome. I can't change the negative things at work but I can at home.
In regards to the airport question, yes they can be detailed out, BUT, then the city has got to reimburse the feds and avaiation dept for the full pay and and costs of the police officer they detail out.
You have to remember, none of these officers ( and any other city employee ) are paid for by city taxes, it's all airport money.
I am not 100% sure of is if it has to be done based on seniority or not. However, I assume that it is seniority based.

It is by seniority, if no one takes it, then it goes by reverse.

According to everyone, including the FOP, the reverse seniority is the way they are doing it, unless you are lucky enough to have a 5th 6th or 7th period furlough...Then you luck out, even if a more senior officer has an 8 or 9th period furlough, they are going before someone with a 5, 6 or 7.
