A Mystery!
So, considering all of this, we’ve noticed a BMW parked illegally in Boystown every Friday and Saturday night for the past several months — and it never gets ticketed for parking in a yellow curbed no parking zone.
But, two weeks ago, we witnessed two CPM meter maids working Halsted and saw the two approach the BMW, with one of them clearly being a trainee. The lead meter maid looked directly at the BMW, so that shot down the theory CPM can’t see that car. It did not vanish before our very eyes into BizarroWorld. The trainee started to write a ticket for being parked in the no parking yellow curb zone, but the other CPM agent stopped him, and we clearly heard the woman say to her subordinate, “No, you can’t ticket THAT car, stop filling that out”.
- “I know that should get a ticket, but she won’t let me. I’m not allowed to write up that car, but I asked her, and she won’t tell me why,” is what the trainee told us. “I don’t know why I’m not allowed to write up that car, but she punched the license number into her box and it came up DO NOT WRITE”.

Anybody in that district, ON DUTY, can run that plate and cite that car. Anybody working special in that area can do the same.
Unless that car has an official sign on it, which it apparently doesn't, it's fair game for a ticket/tow. Is there a KMA member out there???
Frankly, as much heat as this is bringing, the owner or driver of that auto should be fleeing for the hills, or at least a rented garage space, right about now.
So what I'm wondering is this...the CPD does not have one of these computers that says "Do not write". What if a CPD ticket was issued? When it goes to where parkers go after they are turned in, does it get entered into some computer, and, at that point, it comes up "Do not write" also? Someone from 023 has to go write that car a few tickets and see what happens. Inquiring minds want to know.

What's that plate number? Publish the plate and I will stop there on my way too and from work and write the ticket at least twice a day, no problem. I don't have any such "DO NOT WRITE" in my computer.
Hell, I'll go there on my day off, I'm KMA and need some parkers to qualify for some bullshit overtime stuff. I would like to write tickets only to politicians or Department of Revenue personnel. I won't write regular citizens who already get screwed enough.
Hell, forget about publishing the plate, I am leaving for work in a few minutes, I will look in Boystown for the car and find it and start writing. Sounds like fun!

Over the years I have contested numerous tickets I have received while on the job and performing probation duties . I always try to park legally , but sometimes it's just impossible ( permit parking, street cleaning , etc ) and I always leave the official business placard in the window . I have never had one of those tickets dismissed , I have had to pay all of them.

Leased vehicle have all sorts of plate numbers. Some are even vanity and personalized. And NOT all plates with an "X" are leased. The plate on my kid's car starts with an "X" and he owns it. Well him and the bank. He has 14 payments left. No lease!

And then the irony is that most of them are stupid, lazy and ill-equipped for whatever it is they have been handed. I really don't fucking get it. Even after they leave, they start corporations that thrive on taxpayer dollars. How the hell does this work? What is it with the insiders? What purpose do they serve other than driving normal working stiffs crazy?
What are the qualifications and what is the reasoning behind it all? Someone please explain this to me because in and of itself, it makes no fucking sense whatsoever!

Seems to me that the owner of the car has the power to get rid of a ticket written by the CPD. Go ahead and write it, Hubie don't pay parking tickets. The meter maid tickets are harder to get rid of apparently so they came up with a little system around it.
I would guess Robert Bannister, a big wig with the Dept. of Revenue is heavily involved somehow. He would at least be a great starting point for an ambitious investigative reporter.

That is quite true. However, it is a violation of LEADS rules for their database to be used for anything other then official law enforcement purposes. Searching a plate in order to post the information on a blog wouldn’t be considered an official use. LEADS searches are logged and therefore traceable. Meaning there could be considerable consequences for an officer running the plate and posting the information. It is noteworthy that the plate was probably run 200 times today so pinpointing the rule violator might be difficult, so everyone who ran it could come under suspicion.
To get the information legally one has to travel down to the Illinois Secretary of State office and fill out the appropriate form and pay a fee (I believe it is $5.00). They will release it to you and also notify the owner of the car they released the information to you.
It is just as well the information doesn’t appear on this blog. But I would urge the authors of the original blog to use the legal method to obtain the information and post it so no one gets into a jam.

You are able to attend training classes, work in special units and make rank and learn more secrets. Then when you retire yuou can form a corporation or get a high level job for another agency public or private because you had the rank and the training. And, if you keep the secrets, you get the contracts. One leads to another.Just look at all of the incompetent brass that retired and ended up as director of security for private or public agencies. Most do not last long.

The new 1st Ward Alderman was told on the day of his VERY FIRST vote after replacing Alderman Manny Flores by Da Mayor's People that he was NOT to be in the chambers for a vote Da Mayor wanted to pass...he told them to GO POUND SAND, and showed up for the vote and THEN VOTED AGAINST IT...I don't know much about this guy, but if he continues that little hot streak....I'll push every goddamn doorbell in his Ward for his next election!!!

ticket was issued for "not paying the meter". can't write ticket for yellow linw unless there is also a tow zone sign posted. MOST meter signs are only posting the direction of the "pay box", but some people think that it means park from sign to sign. many of the sign where not placed right by the end of the blocks, because they were getting smahed by delivery trucks.
