Daley's Ultimate Goal?

  • Economic hard times are causing many municipalities to look for ways to reduce their payrolls, but none has taken it as far as the town of Maywood, California.

On Monday night, the Maywood City Council voted unanimously to fire all 100 city employees and contract out most services, including record-keeping, street maintenance, and parks and recreation, to the neighboring town of Bell.

“We will become 100% a contracted city,” Maywood’s interim city manager stated.

And who's to blame?
  • Even the Maywood police department will be disbanded. Those services will be provided by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, since a proposal earlier this month to merge Mayfield’s police department with that of Bell was met with angry protests by Bell residents.

It was the police department that largely got Maywood into its current financial troubles. Last month, the town was informed by the California Joint Powers Insurance Authority that it would no longer be able to obtain liability insurance, largely as a result of excessive claims filed against the police.

But it isn't just the police - does this sound familiar?
  • “Four years ago, the department faced a political outcry when it began running checkpoints that resulted in hundreds of cars being taken away from unlicensed illegal immigrants,” the Times explains. “The checkpoint sparked a political movement that brought a new council that was more sympathetic to illegal immigrants. But Maywood was back in the headlines when it declared itself a sanctuary city for illegal immigrants, making the town a target of conservative talk radio and TV news shows.”
Change that to "Chicago" and one has to wonder at the parallels.
  • The Los Angeles Times reports that town residents blame the current problems on “years of financial abuse and corruption” by the city council. Ironically, however, the city manager, attorney, and council members are the only Maywood employees who will remain on the payroll.

“You guys had the power to change it and you didn’t,” City Treasurer Lizeth Sandoval told the council at Monday’s meeting. “You single-handedly destroyed the city.

Wow. Déjà vu all over again.

Now that the supreme court did what it was suposed to have done 30 years ago, uphold the constitution and good citizens can protect themselves from the evil that lives among us won't this ironically help Daley? If this ultimatey reduces certain crime. I.e. Street robbery, store robbery, theft burglary, homevinvasion and murder won't the effect be a safer city with happier citizens. The mayor won't feel the need to hire more police then.

And now Maywood, CA is 97% hispanic with an estimated 40% of them being illegal. It is one of the most lawless cities in the nation. But to top it off, Maywood was the city that flew a mexican flag over our U.S. flag at a city post office. Surprized they didn't privatize everything to a company south of the border.

So Maywood CA has really ceased being a city/village, except for a select few, who hang on to collect their paychecks from the taxpayers (if there are any)

The clearance rate for homicides is now below 25 percent. Murderer wannabes: 3 to 1 odds you'll get away with it. Chicago may well have the lowest clearance rate among the nation's largest cities with populations in excess of 500,000.

Very sad what is going on in this city but unless we the voters get out there and demand a viable candidate for mayor, this corruption will continue. If no candidate presents him/herself then maybe we can start a "none of thee above" movement! I mean it's time...Police/Fire despise him and we the city workers cannot stand him so all we need is the public behind us and we're off...

I can't help but think Shortshanks has a plan already in action for the CPD. My thoughts on what might happen: Get the manpower level even lower while lying to the public even more about numbers. Let the murders and shootings increase to an even higher level. Declare the city hasn't the funds to pay the "ineffective" CPD. The bright idea of a private police force will fix all the problems. The city will save lots of money and you'll get more "cops" on the street for less than what the city is paying now. The public will love saving money and having more "cops" on the street. The real cops will be told that the only way for existing pensions to continue will be to go this route. The pension fund will be near bankrupt (thanks to Daley family members) and the savings from bringing in an outside agency will cover pension costs in the future. Naturally, there will be a morsel tossed to the real cops that will probably be like a farewell gift from the city, maybe a cheap key chain that says, "So long, suckers" with Daley's picture on it. Many will be given some forced shitty early retirement package. Daley and his cronies will be happier than pigs in shit. The Heroes of Chicago will be on unemployment or forced retirement.

Like I said, my thoughts. Maybe far-fetched, maybe not.

A cop's wife.

Why is it these political dipshits are trying to make the world believe that privatizing means "free" to the taxpayer?

Every printed liberal rag prints their articles in a light that can only be described as trying to make it look like if a city privatizes, no one has to pay for it anymore.

In regards to Mayor Dubmfuck, his falsities spewed forth by his pet stooges in the Sun Times media in his attempt to privatize city jobs in his great quest to remove all city employees from the city payroll so he can get around shackman and Illinois labor laws regarding unions so he can personnaly control who gets his corrupt contracts in exchange for guaranteed votes is one giant runon sentence that gets the entire Daley scenario before the last period.

And it's true.

Off Topic:

On my way home from work today I was behind a bus that had an advertisement on the back. It said Walmart on the South Side, Yes. Call 311 to voice your opinion. The ad was sponsored by Walmart.

Is this legit? Can a company tie up 311 services with bullshit like this?

Man you are correct. The Academy has been "porting" money for a couple of years to cover mismanagement of State training funds. If the person involved with the funds was at work and not telecommuting" perhaps this wouldn't be happening.

Don't forget the desk dollies in the Gun-Registration Section. Let em go out on the streets now and catch gang-bangers and dope-boys with the illegal guns, the ones used to shoot citizens and Cops, and leave the Law-Abiding Gun Owning Chicago citizens alone.

For some time now I have been posting here and there on this blog about these thefts by this individual at the Academy - A. C-H.
I do not use her name, yet several posts never show up here.

People need to realize that this individual is in charge of millions of $$ in TIF's as well as the Nemert/Tri River funds. The Nemert/Tri River funds are to be used soley for In-Service Training yet they are not.
The Illinois Training and Standards Board needs to conduct an audit of these funds. They will find the same kind of misappropriation of funds as with the TIF's.
This individual should be jailed for these thefts.

My guess is that if this is tried, privatizing the police, it would totally backfire. People forget what police did before the city paid them to be law enforcement professionals. Drop a couple of bucks to avoid a ticket? No prob. Once you make the job worthless, it will be treated as such.
