Someone Under the Bus?
Thanks to a couple of readers, we've gotten copies of the following, all dated 17 June:
- BOP #10-0001.2 - Detail of Captains
- BOP #10-0001.3 - Detail of Personnel - Administrative Captains and Lieutenants
- BOP #10-161 - District Watch Commander Assignments
And now comes word from J-Fled via a PAX 501 sent through Department-wide e-mail on 18 June:
- The documentation that was previously distributed through the Bureau of Patrol regarding the distribution of Captains and the detail of Administrative Captains and Lieutenants was inaccurate and published without formal approval. For this, I apologize.
If the BOP letters were distributed without approval, someone in Patrol just stepped in a pile of shit hip deep and we're about to see some dumps, demotions, maybe resignations. If the PAX 501 is the verification of the BOP letters, we're going to see a bunch of Captain retirements and more Lieutenant movement than has happened in the past five years combined.
Does anyone know the real story? What's valid and what isn't? Who's making what power play?

The above was emailed to everyone from the Superintendent of the Chicago Police Department. He claimed to have been in the military? He claimed to have ran a division of the FBI? This alone is the worst possible way to address a top management decision. Why did the entire police department need to be involved with a major internal decision that has totally humiliated an entire division and an incompetent Deputy Superintendent. You discipline or address things as this in private!
Now watch Assistant Superintendent Cuello back slide and distance herself from DD himself. Yes, he needs to be reminded that he does not run the entire Chicago Police Department and cannot continually micro manage and make decisions without any input from anyone except himself, but to direct a fucked up email to him and his incompetent entire unit is just not an example of leadership period!

I actually commend the Superintendent for doing this. He addressed this issue personally and to each and every sworn member.

Duh! Obviously they want more people to retire and trim more of the fat as well as cutting the meat. Probably the magic number of police has not been reached yet. Daley didn't pay a consulting firm for nothing.
And today I will still be pushing a beat car with no air answering calls while on a backlog. Who cares....
I know the people on 3rd watch in 023 are praying that their cap't is one of the ones moving. The constant missions under this guy are unbearable. There's never a rapid car up, EVER, b/c they're always on missions collecting "activity" for the cap't. He lets the beat cars handle all the jobs then all the other cars are used for the sole purpose of bolstering his numbers in the hopes of making himself look good to move up the ranks.
It now looks like Mayor Richard M. Daley will throw anyone under the bus.
After seeing the bus run over some very stellar PO's over the years I have learned to TRUST NOTHING from the Daley administration.
Nothing is as it seems!

One less case of beer a month gives you 100 rounds a month. Plenty of practice, and it will improve your health by reducing your alcohol consumption.

Why is Patrol Admin. P.O. Zaragoza making these decisions? This guy is the replacement for the retired lt. who used to handle personnel matters such as transfers and recruit assignments. The problem is he THINKS he is the lieutenant! He talks to exempts like he outranks them, telling them things like "that's NOT going to happen" when they request people. He was actually involved in all of this reassignment nonsense involving captains and lieutenants, along with the other clowns like Iglinski and "I'll screw over my fellow lieutenants" Harmon. Way to go, Greg! You have a long way to go on this job, and you'll have a LOT of enemies to deal with when D/S "Doogie" and his lackey Lt. Hoffmann are retired!

WEISel/Masters have certainly done a hatchet job on the CPD in the past two+ years. First the command staff, now the Capts. and Lts. It won't be long now, guys...all I ask of the maintenance crew at 3510 is to tighten the tensioners on the doors to both of their offices. When those doors close behind those two bozos, they need to really feel those doors smack their asses on the way out!

Spent so long in 025 those words are engrained in my mind, still makes me smile - as well as any reference to I/F.

What, are you three years old? He made a comment about the old days. We got it and smiled at the memory. It's not a competition.
Not knocking the dispatchers today, but those were the days. We were all in it together and it was a race to get to the job first and catch the bad guy or help our friends. Things have changed so much and we can't blame it all on J-Fled and the midget on the fifth floor.

This so reminds me of a defeated army in full retreat.
There is no replacement for soldiers who have fallen out of ranks, because they haven't hired any.
So they shuffle the leadership and say this is an improvement.
There is no equipment, like vehicles for the basic functions but have millions to spend on wonder technologies that just don't work or consume more time and effort than pen and paper methods. Or are there to just spy on the troops.
There are no supplies like ammunition, so they will see how far the troops can make do with less until something cracks.
There are valiant small unit actions but the foreign army continues to advance. More and more illegals of all kinds crowd us everyday.
The Furherbunker issues counterproductive orders has discipline which makes no sense and is not trusted by the troops in the field.

MM, everyone did not need to know about this since everyone did NOT know about it. How is it that he takes the time to send a fucked up email like that directing it to a Deputy Superintendent that he selected and has empowered? Did he do that for any of the shit that actually mattered to us, the troops? Hell no! This does not make him look good, this is just an example of poor leadership and pulling for straws.
The way he addressed this was totally inappropriate and you know it!

EB's well documented falsehoods in his resume for the Arizona job were written about in the Chicago print media at the time it was written about in the Arizona press.
The public didn't seem to be phased by it; nor did the public object to EB's big boost in rank and $$ pay by J-Fled when it occurred months later. I think that the citizenry of Shitcago are so lambasted with shit flowing out of City Hall that nothing truly surprises or outrages the taxpayers anymore. Wait and see, when Jackson is forced to pack up and move on in the very near future, EB will likely be the frontrunner for the Asst. Supt. of Field Operations" position, and no one will object or bring up his many sexual transgressions when it is done, except the readers of this blog. "It's just the Shitcago way." We should all be concentrating our efforts at getting Daley out of office early next year, and (2) getting term limits on the ballot for a referendum. We need relief on both issues before anyone can expect any positive change in Illinois.
