Airport Bids

But remember, it's a 50-50 split among bids and management. And who gets the management spots? An interesting rumor pops up:
  • I work at 35th street take this to the bank next period will be huge bids for both airports! Remember though airports in new contract are 50% bid 50% MANAGEMENT! Boys and girls get your calls in now! The mayors detail is calling, and wondering why when they are DUMPED they go back to D-1 pay!
You think there are a bunch of people looking for a soft landing? A lot of clout is going to come out of the woodwork over these spots. Good luck ladies and gentlemen.

I have the time to get a bid but my gut tells me when all this new manpower gets to the airports things will change, and not for the better. That green grass on the other side of the fence can turn brown real quick when you climb over.Let the clouted have it.

It's all based upon hard work. Remember that, on this job it's what you do that helps your career, not who you know.

Truth is 28 years for days, afternoon shift sucks 1300-2200 4 day weeks, no overtime, no early outs, hard to get time due that is the reality! In winter cold as ever as you direct traffic to help out tma's. Has some benefits but the hours blow. Plus your always on camera make a mistake we have a sgt. on midnights who takes cr's and ratchets up the punishment!

it's a great idea to put old timers with 20 years plus at the airport. The older and bitter the better, zero police service in districts what do you think they will provide at the worlds busiest airport?

Chicago, a true example of what not to do...

Many years ago I worked the wagon with an old timer a day after I was off probation. He had his plug in TV up front, cigar going and greeted me with a handshake and said "My name is so-and so and I do nothing."

It has taken many years to finally get to that place of understanding exactly what he meant and why.

09:18 Seems like it is so bad out there that they probably won't get any bids and will have to use reverse seniority to fill the openings Give us a break Phones will be ringing off the hook when the openings are annonced and if its so bad why is there the 50/50

I have worked with a few of these so called bodyguards when they were in patrol in 010. They didn't now there job then and they don't know how to be the police now. No surprise that they are looking for spots. They got those spots with two and five years on.

What a joke!
