We saw this on a black SUV in traffic the other day:
We figured it was one of those ethnic types advertising their national origin. Then we saw the plates, saw the fancy off road tires, observed the "go-fast" equipment and the serious looking driver with the booster seat in the front passenger side and we realized, "It's J-Fled!"
And the "GR" sticker? It was so obvious when we thought about it.
Gotta Run.

You also seem to forget that Roussell is one year from mandatory retirement,so that would be a wasted promotion if true, and that they are doing away with ADS spots . Commanders are going to be incident commanders.

Can't see how Ryan would be pleased to get 018. He's already been cmdr of 001, so he's well aware of the headaches those two Districts generate, especially in the summer months. At least he's being lateraled, and not demoted. Roussell moved to Deputy Chief of Keating's 'do nothing' spot? I guess when you've got to dump some dead weight, you may as well put it far out of the way where it will do no harm...maybe the next Supt. will indeed approach this job with a real surgical knife, and do away with these idiotic exempt money draining sections, like "Central Control Group," the various do nothing 'Deputy Chief' positions within the Detective Division, and take away the 'Chief of Staff' position, which was originally just an "Executive Asst. to the Supt." flunky post in prior administrations, until the Hall decided to place 3M there, which set the stage for civilian oversight/ruination of the CPD (and let's not forget the doubled up "Asst. Supt." positions...what a crock of waste $$ that is!). Still plenty of fat to cut; with the right new guy in the chair next year, we could be well on our way to restoring the CPD to some measure of competent command structure and respect among the law enforcement community. But I guess it all depends on how the Mayoral election goes. It's widely suspected that if Emanuel gets the nod, 3M will likely stay on in some capacity. Let's hope Rahm has more need of someone with 3M's talent elsewhere in his administration....like directly under Emanuel's desk.

The only cars that get in trouble in 16 for not being on the air every second are the tact cars, even though they all go to hot calls. The WC's all yell and scream at the tact teams meanwhile SOME of beat cars don't have to go to their own calls. The midnight WC Mr E.L. loves to yell at the tact teams, wondering where they are every second, while SOME of his own beat cars are the problem. Why people work tact in 016....I have no clue. Lewison is the ONLY watch commander in 016 with a clue.

I know that the FOP and all the police unions as well as local 2 squashed the two-tier pension back in May 2010. What is the pension trustees going to do to stop the two-tier pension? The elected trustees need to get involved and not sit on the fence.
Hard to believe that J-Fed makes nearly 26K per month. It makes me sick to think that the worst Superintendent in the history of this department makes this kind of money.

Off Topic. Is it true that District Managers have not been included in next years budget? Don't they make something like 89 or 90 thousand dollars a year.
Brian was the police. At some point he was picked by Daley to be in charge of the Bureau of Electricity. Experience in this none. Super heavy. He worked his way up until he was a deputy chief of staff for Daley. Then he pissed off Daley and got dumped to the Police Department (like Ladner, etc.) Off course, have to make him a Deputy Chief even though he left as a Lieutenant. He was making chiefs pay or something the whole time he worked for Daley. Another one of these nice guys promoted and given a great job cause of clout. His Deputy Chiefs job could easily be eliminated and save the tax payers a couple hundred thousand dollars a year.

It will be up to the Illinois Legislature, not the FOP or Local 2 or the pension trustees. Pension Law is done by sate reps and state senators.
So, if Daley wants it and if Brady gets in, it will be done, It doesn't matter who wants to quash it. If Brady and Daley want it, you can count on it happening.

Not sure either, but I believe that the Constitution of Illinois stipulates that if the City of Chicago cannot meet its pension obligation, the state must provide for those obligations. The mechanics of the pension, contributions, minimum age, and payout formula are fixed by statute.

Not true. changes to our pension only require a change to the applicable pension law. Your Illinois legislators will be in charge.

Delay it. I had instructors who could barely complete a sentence. They cancelled it on 3rd watch because they lacked competent instructors.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that any type of change to our pension, by law had to be done at a Constitutional Convention. Did we not vote one down last year? and is one on the ballot this year? If so, why isn't the FOP as well as our Pension Board Representatives on top of this and getting word out to us to vote NO!!!

The only cars that get in trouble in 16 for not being on the air every second are the tact cars, even though they all go to hot calls. The WC's all yell and scream at the tact teams meanwhile SOME of beat cars don't have to go to their own calls. The midnight WC Mr E.L. loves to yell at the tact teams, wondering where they are every second, while SOME of his own beat cars are the problem. Why people work tact in 016....I have no clue. Lewison is the ONLY watch commander in 016 with a clue.
You don't have to worry about tact teams much longer. They were rumored to be disbanded and all tact teams citywide were to go to Moron Strike Farce or GEU by year's end. The gun teams were disbanded.Behind the 003 and 006 district incidents and the beat reallocations district tact teams are history. So now all of the homefront protecting de policing beat supercops can strut their stuff.

I always wondered why CPD had to patrol the projects. They did have the CHA police, but they were useless. I guess somebody had to cover the jets while CHA goofed off doing street stops no where near the projects.

Another precinct heard from! The last time I checked, those projects were in the city of Chicago and CPD had the primary responsibility for policing them.
There were many good officers at CHAPD and there were slackers. Sounds just like where we work now.
