Hello Again Anthony

A special one-finger salute goes out to Channel 2 tonight for their airing the Anthony Abbate tape yet again to demonstrate the fiction that the entire CPD is out of control.

What a bunch of assholes. Way to push an agenda.

In the meantime, J-Fled's press conferences are generating more questions and seem to be a desperate attempt to paint himself in a favorable light with the up-and-coming powers.
  • Six more Chicago police officers have been stripped of their duties in the wake of the alleged beating of a suspect in police custody last week, the Chicago Police Department said Monday.

The move comes just days after Supt. Jody Weis announced that a police supervisor had been relieved of his police powers in connection with the case.

[...] “This conduct, if true, is inexcusable, and is completely out of the line of the standard of professionalism with which our members are expected to conduct themselves,” Weis said last week. Weis said he learned about the incident only Friday, when the Independent Police Review Authority told him about it.
We can't remember any incidents remotely similar where a high ranking member made any comment beyond something like, "An investigation is underway and the results will be released when a conclusion is reached."

A quick "We cannot discuss an on-going investigation" ought to suffice.

He keep saying talk to IPRA !
Why was he even there?
THEN the 10 o'clock news relaeses the story, saying witnesses,(with video of the fine upstanding C.P.S. students loitering in front of a local fast food joint) wouldn't speak on camera due to fear of police retaliation !!!
What a load of B.S.!!!

P.S. Don't forget to put all your possessions and assets in the name of your spouse or someone you trust. Maybe then even after you are found liable for punitive damages and rotting in jail your spouse and kids might have something to live on!

Hold on; let me get this right…

Jody, who constantly tells us how he “has our backs”, holds a press confrence about an incident he has no knowledge of? Then, if the way I’m reading this is correct, hangs the Sgt and Officers out to dry before finding out if this is even CORRECT?

Yep, jody, you have our back alright… Go home and play with your fucking cat.

Wrong SCC, it has happened before. I remember Terry Hilliard, the poster boy for affirmative action making similar comments after the video taped skirmish during an arrest on Division St. in Cabrini-Green. It led to an indictment of a lowly PO who was subsequently cleared.

Boycotting CBS 2 Chicago news until they stop showing video footage of police abuse. You have bad apples in every bunch. Factors such as CBS' decision to continuously show this type of footage enables the disrespectful members of society to want to committ crimes against other officers and with the murders of 3 officers this year, this footage should no longer be used.

It is not far-fetched to believe that video like this- feeds the mentality of anti-police antics. Media outlets, Jody Weis, and the Mayor, in my opinion, all have blood on their hands from creating such an anti-police environment to the public within the past years.

Just my opinion.

Sincerely,

Sgt. W. in 018 is doing all she can to remind the world why she should be the go too guy. She was at the candlelight vigil on oak/orleans last night, and her wise counsel enabled the bosses to handle that peaceful crowd of 200+ peeps without incident. It would have been a hooten to see her in action at the northwestern hospital prayer rally held later that same evening for the recently departed 87/Ada choirboy. Odds are very good she'll make LT before baby Cline.

I hope everyone takes into account the totality of the circumstances. How much stress were those officers under due to daily radio backlogs, lack of manpower, and trying to do more with less, when some POS tries to start something. This is why we should purposely do less because the powers that be won't hire more police. This job is stressful, and if you try to do more with less, the strain will eventually get to you, and even though someone deserves to go to jail, one bad reaction caught on camera will get you in trouble.

Is this what Jody says when he has our backs? "look we don't need more police, and dammit, if it gets too stressful, well we'll just strip you of your police powers and hold a press conference."

With Jody watching my back, i feel like i always have to look over my shoulder. I don't trust that guy at all.

I suppose if you were a bartender or bartender's kid, you might be absolved before the night was over. but without that clout, remember there is a two-tier discipline system in this department.

Anthony was a problem before 011, he had trouble in 019. their solution was to ship him to another district, make him someone else's problem, nothing was done years ago in 019 when his true character was becoming known.

Complain, shake their head, but seek to have the guy fired, oh no, not that. this could have been prevented years ago but the problem cops are taken care of until they kill someone. And even then there are efforts to reach out to judges etc.

I wouldn't blame Anthony. Blame all the many supervisors who allowed him to do what he did. Anthony was just being Anthony. That's who he was. And no one did anything until it all blew up so bad it could no longer be ignored. That has been standard operating procedure on the CPD for long before Anthony came along.

Why do you suppose Anthony picked the CPD instead of say, the FBI or the Secret Service? Because the CPD has a reputation of being chock full of drunken assholes like Anthony who do what they please and supervisors walk the other way.
