Two of the seven Chicago police officers put on desk duty after the alleged beating of a handcuffed man have been reinstated, apparently in light of evidence indicating they weren't at the scene.
The Independent Police Review Authority, which investigates police misconduct, recommended the two unidentified officers be restored to full duty because both have been "excluded from the investigation," police officials said.
"Based upon this information, the department took swift action to restore these officers' police powers and return them to field assignment," said a statement from the department's office of news affairs.
Wow! Imagine that! An actual investigation leads to actual evidence that actual people with lives and careers were actually innocent! You would think that maybe a superintendent that was so eager to throw someone (anyone!) under the bus based on an incomplete and open investigation might have had something to say about jumping the gun on this one - you would be wrong of course. Apologizing for fucking up is a foreign concept to a feeb.

2. What is the level of funding for the alderman's pension fund
3. Before any concessions are made we need to DEMAND that not another dime be contributed to the alderman's fund until the other funds are returned to fiscal health

Again someone who spouts off without remotely knowing the facts. Actually, 2013 IS significant but not for 2 tier pension purposes. Anyone retiring after 2013 will not be able to purchase or receive any health insurance through the city. If you remember the city already tried doing away with retiree health care and we had to sue them. The judge's decision in that matter was that the city had to provide the opportunity for health insurance to retirees, but only until 2013. Not coincidentally, because anyone retiring after 2013 will have been paying into medicare via their CPD employment. Hence, anyone retiring after 2013 who wants health insurance will have to wait until they're 63, retire and then COBRA for insurance coverage for the 2 years until they are medicare eligible. You want to retire before 63? You better get another job with insurance or count on OBAMA CARE forcing you to buy some hugely expensive insurance on your own. All this hope and change is making my ass hurt.

If J-Fled on camera said what he "viewed" was brutal, then 2 of the P.O.'s got reinstated cause they never were there, isn't this a rule 14 violation? He obviously lied and since it's on tape and on the internet and tv across the globe for MILLIONS to see (unlike a paper report which maybe 20 people see), shouldn't he be suspended immediately?

I take vigorous exception to those who would use a broad brush to paint FBI agents in a negative light just because of the unscrupulous poseur J-Fled. In the Bureau, he would be widely regarded by his subordinates as "an empty suit"--a world-class aberrant asshole.
This is grossly unfair to many outstanding men and women who have served the FBI with honor and distinction.
Take one of my best college buddies who has since retired from the Bureau. Today he remains an outstanding role model for the youth in his community. We keep in touch. His skills as a power forward and the captain of the Marquette Warriors were only surpassed by his gifted intellect and most importantly as a dear friend. Both his father and his son served as city police officers. Unassisted, he was involved in a shootout with a mutt. Tommy won. I am proud to have him for a lifelong friend.
Notwithstanding, if you are a potential target as "a person of interest" in a federal investigation, you don't invite the G into your home for a "chat" over a cup of coffee. While I may not agree, I do understand why many police officers insist that you should "never trust a fed".

That is correct.
To Mr. Fed who spoke about a retired agent you worked with and where invloved in a shootout.The difference between you and CPD: After that shootout,did you feel relief because you knew your supervisor had your back and would take care of you right away,(you are not ordered to give a statement an hour or two after the shooting incident).Now put yourself in that same frame of mind after that same shoot out as a Chicago Police Officer-------Superviser now arrives on-scene,what do you feel now--------Are you scared now,you should be.That is what it feels like when you are C.P.D.That is what sets CPD apart from the FBI,you go into a incident knowing that the boss really does have your back therefore you are much more comfortable dealing with the aftermath of a shooting incident. So when a P.O. comments about an agent,please just remember that it's not an attack on that agent or the FBI,it's an attempt to show the major diffences between the two agencies what we deal with on a city level of policing than the federal level of policing.
