Gery Chico Running Hard

First he pisses off the mayor by questioning how the schools are being run into the ground. Then he shows up on the WBBM "At Issue" program (no link available yet) saying how he's going to let J-Fled go, promote someone from within the Department, and change things so cops want to come to work and do police work again.

Of course, he also said he wants to "revitalize" the CAPS program, which earns him a metaphorical kick in the 'nads for not letting that demon-spawned money wasting program die and ignominious death as soon as possible.

But he's definitely courting the disillusioned city workers. But it's still a win-win for Shortshanks if Chico wins or Rahm wins

I listened to At Issue tonight, but didn't catch the last few minutes. Chico is articulate and talks a big game when it comes to championing the public school children and their continuing educational development, and for that I give him credit.

However, from what I heard, he seemed to only briefly mention pension reform, but didn't expand on any possible solution(s). He then referenced pursuing a land-based casino in about the same breath, but still didn't mention a correlation between the two. Anybody knows what his stance is on helping get the pensions funded to where they should be?

City office workers are GROSSLY overcompensated--I know since I was there for about 10 years. Many of them have the office skills that equal a dogs (except they have a thumb). Many/most of them are beyond stupid and lazy. As long as you lick your bosses azz, you're golden.
There were too many bosses before layoffs began, now there are way too many. If one of these fools wants me to listen to them, that is one of the things I need to hear about. Here's a good initial idea: Fire everyone in Water-they are hooked up sleazeballs.
CAPS is pandering to citizens. It's sad since it could be terrific. It was something that I was very involved in as a citizen. It's a dumb program and it reveal to the citizens how inadequete and ineffective you can be-not because of who you are but the limitations put on you by your bosses and money. The CAPS staff are useless. Put the Cops back on the street instead of kow-towing to citizens while knowing that they will not act on what is really going on.

This guy is a dope. He wants to spend more money on education. That hasn't worked in 30 years. You could have every CPS school staffed with Harvard professors and the results would be the same: a bunch of shithead kids. A Catholic education costs only (compared to CPS) $2000 per kid, how do they do it? Because you're paying for it with your own money.

Until mom and dad get involved decrease spending on education and free lunch programs. Better yet make it all private and the city can give out a voucher for $1000 (a compromise for the liberals).

I don't know much about Chico, other than his being a machine Democrat/rubber stamp for Daley. Having said that, I hesitantly must admit I was impressed overall with what he said Sunday morning on NewsRadio 780's "At Issue" program. Just when I thought Rahm had this election in the bag....Chico
might be able to pull it out. The bigger question is,
who would truly be the lesser of the two EVILS?

There is no "white knight" on a steed who is going to save us all. So, after you grow up, realize that we must make the choice from those who are running.

RAHM - Daley, Obama, Media, and Business(connected that is) ALL WANT RAHM. Supposed Mr. Tuff guy doesn't even have the guts to say he would get rid of J-Fed. Even J-Fed himself knows he is gone. Rahm is Daley all over again only more smug and arrogant if that is possible.

Davis, Meeks and Braun - Revruns running the show like they do now, but without white a middle man to dole out the largess in return for votes.

Of the serious contenders that leaves Chico. Of course he was a player, or do you still believe we are going to get a "pure" candidate by Immaculate Conception. They are all politicians. And Chico must have really pissed off Daley. Look at the video "never, ever, ever...." Daley is pissed so that directs my vote. We need to get behind one candidate, or we are going to be very unhappy with Rahm.

In this state, it is always the lesser of two evils not who is the better candidate.

There are a lot of people outside of city workers that have a lot riding on who becomes next mayor. They have huge vested interests (read that - FAT contracts) that they don't want to be overturned.

Getting a Daley minion in might be less disruptive than getting in some "outsider". (There are people that do NOT want change because change means new people get the contracts)

Look at this election from more than just your own perspective (typical city employee "I'm-entitled-to-a-bigger-raise" mentality)

Other people have more skin in the game and believe me, they will be watching out for their piece of the pie.

As it stands now, the black vote will be split unless a couple of the over inflated egos that are in the race drop out. What is interesting is that many of the southwest and northwest side alderman and ward committeemen, the most powerful and well known being Burke, do not like or want Rahm Immanuel. They see him as arrogant and ignorant, more "one way" than Daley and likely to be around for a long time. They would love to see an alternative to Immanuel and that alternative is Chico. What does that say?

uh, notice that thingy at the end of this sentence:

"within the list of currently filed mayoral candidates, is there one?"

it's a question mark.

that means that the ending portion of the sentence, "...is there one?" poses a question.

that question being:

is there one alternative candidate, amongst all currently filed and listed candidates for mayor, to the crook county dumbocratic criminal enterprise machine's candidates?

is there one?

I know what a question is. You didn't capitalize "it's" and "is". :) Did you see the first letter, at the beginning of the sentence? The first letters require capitalization.

no, you responded to a simple question by posing your own question, which contained the implication that you'd assumed that the question initially posed implied that there were no alternatives currently filed as candidates worthy of being considered as authentic alternatives to the same old same old.
