RIP Officer Flisk
Media coverage of our latest loss:
We're still a bit numb here at SCC. Don't expect much in the way of sarcasm or silliness for a bit here. It just isn't in us right now.
We'll have something to say in a while.
We'll have something to say in a while.

RIP BROTHERS!
CJR
Moe - we are so sorry for the loss of your beloved brother Michael.
Our prayers are with you, your family, and all of the blue family who had the pleasure of knowing Mike.
There are no words that we can say that will help you overcome this anguish, but if there is anything we can do, anything at all, just ask...
I'm not sure my heart could break any more...
I'm still in shock. RIP Brothers! It really makes you question why and what we do.
A porta inferi, Eure Domine animas eiouam. Former seminarians who are P.O.'s can translate this........
" From the gates of hell, deliver their souls, Oh Lord "
From the "Old Requiem Mass".
I believe as the new year approaches WE must select a day to march on city hall that we are not going to take it anymore. If the citizens of this city, county, state, and nation want us to keep proactive policing they must put some skin in the game. For 2011 we must demand NO MORE 99 UNITS on all three watches(including et's),that citizens back the police department, bring the department to full strength, and laws that idemnify police officers while acting under the color of law. Until then I say we have to do some form action and thing will only get worse.
The Lt.'s and above of CPD you know why CPD officer's are being murdered with such frequency. Us blue shirts have marched to protest the conditions and leadership of our department. What have you collectively done? Most of you are in the KMA club.
If you cared and had any intestinal fortitude you would call meetings, band together and do the same or gather together and make a public statement to the media.
The Supt. is a Fed. You were all blue shirts at one time. How do you stand by and silently watch the men and women you lead be slaughtered ?
A beat car has to stay with a body that died of natural causes until the ME's ( Cook County ) clout ambulance arrives ? How about the requesting officers remain on the scene of an ET request until he/she arrives ? Hum...... that may throw the district into another RAP..... God forbid that to happen...... a RAP? But, no....... let the ET get shot and killed. At least there is no RAP.
Good Lord, where are our priorities ???
Here is a poor guy doing NOTHING that is pro-active in any matter . .
he is just trying to take some damn photos for some poor guy.. an ex-CHA copper .. that had his garage broken into.
Some BASTARD Savage(s) kill them both.
May these SOBs burn in hell.
GOD BLESS you E.T. FLISK.
I hope to piss on the graves of those who have committed your murder one day.
It must be tough to be you, sometimes, SCC (any and all of you). While all of us are affected by each loss, some of them must be personal friends of yours and yet you're here, filling the page.
Thanks for being there - to tell the stories, mourn the dead and show what's behind the curtain. Thanks for helping the rest of us through it when you're suffering yourselves.
RIP Officer Flisk,
You will always be remembered and always be loved. May your family, friends and all your brothers and sisters in blue find peace in knowing that you are now at rest with God.
What can anyone say. This is a very sad day for the CPD and all other law enforcement officers. This simply proves that these animals have no regard for anyone and aren't afraid to kill for no reason. Always, always have someone watching your back and keep your hands close to your sidearm. And to whoever catches the cowardly offender, please do not "arrest" him. Put him out of his misery, for the sake of the rest of us. RIP brother.
Hello SCC. Thank you for providing a great forum for our CPD family to discuss current events in our department, vent our frustrations and in this weeks case, share our sorrow.
I just watched the news coverage of the Police vehicles escorting the ambulance transporting ET Flisk from NW to the the Examiners facility. I was so overwhelmed with sadness. Although, it is really touching to see all the blue lights in a single file line behind the ambulance, for what seemed like forever, the reality of the finalness of that moment is very overwhelming. Both, my husband and I have been on the job for 12 years, and it sickens us, to see our fellow men die around us, as if we were at war.
I never imagined that this job would come to this. Six officers in one year is horrific. Nevermind all those that have died in the past. We will pray for all our fellow officers and their families and pray that everybody goes home safe to their loved ones after every tour. Again, thanks!!!
Numb really describes how I feel. May God welcome you into His heavenly arms, Officer Flisk. May He comfort your family as they cope with your sudden passing from this life at the hands of evil. Rest eternal grant unto Him, O Lord. And light perpetual shine upon him. May he rest in peace.
My condolences to the officer's family and friends. Although he wouldn't remember me, I remember Officer Flisk. I worked with him a couple of times when I was a PPO. I laughed my butt off and I still tell stories of one specific incident to this day. This guy was cut from that old school cloth...... the genuine article. My heart goes out to his wife and kids on this somber day. Godspeed.
Fidler 007.
BIG FLIPPER
GOD BLESS MAY GOD WELCOME YOU WITH OPEN ARMS
009
it certainly was a black friday!
Jack..If that is your brother..I will do whatever you need. Eddie Schak
I not only worked with Mike, but I'm his neighbor... I am so fucking depressed right now, I really dont know what to do! How can I ever look into his wife's eyes again and tell her that his life was worth this stupid fucking job?
Unbelievable. We are living in a nightmare.
I talked to my brother on Thanksgiving by phone about family plans for the weekend, causally thinking life would go on forever. Who would think that the E.T. Job could be so fatal. From the moment my family and I arrived at the E.R. We were met by the love and support of our extended family called the CPD. CPD was their throughout and CFD too. Thank you to all who came or were involved. I know you did your best for my brother who was assassinated while performing a job he loved dearly. To all be safe. Sgt Tim Flisk 008
RIP Brothers. God bless you both and your loved ones.
Careful out there guys and gals.
Anyone know of the condition of the two officers involved in the crash Thursday night? They are in my prayers also and I they recover soon.
I just want to know why
It feels like it's US against THEM! It's terrible that we live in a culture that has no respect for life nor for the police. As a child I remember respecting and also fearing the police, it's time to bring them old school days back...
RIP Officer
No one should go 99 to a job. Whether its a supervisor request, burglary report, missing person report, auto accident. Any job that's given should be handled by at least 2 persons. F' the backlog, safety comes first. Sorry for the rant. May G-d bless all of our Officers who have passed away. Stay safe.
I cannot believe the Idiots that keep pleading!!!
PLEASE Jodi let us take the gloves off!!!
Are you FN kidding me!!
I feel sorry for your partner working for such an ignorant ass!!!
Jodi has already crossed the "I can never be trusted line"
He was brought here NOT to fight street crime but to stop departmental crime!!!
Jodi has cashed in on this BIG TIME!!!
Now if he said tomorrow....
Take off the gloves.Take back our city...I'm behind you 100%, even if you fuck up!!!!
WOULD YOU BELIEVE HIM!!!!
Even fuck up a little!!!!
He has referred 97% of all cases brought before him FOR firing!!!
HE has singlehandedly made every honest cop second guess every move he makes!!!!
Cops will not make half the stops they were suspicious of!!!
Its like the guy has to hold the gun out in front of you, or your violating his civil rights!!!
And we know if we are suspicious but accidentally VIOLATE HIS CIVIL RIGHTS!!!
WE COULD GO TO JAIL FOR A VERY LONG TIME!!!!!!
Between this and the JOKE of MERITORIOUS promotions!!!! AKA POLITICAL PROMOTIONS!!!
Never understood why meritorious promotions did NOT need to be justified in any way!!!!
HOW CAN JODIS DRIVER GET A MERITORIOUS PROMOTION!!!!
THIS IS WHAT IS KILLING THIS DEPARTMENT!!!!
AND NOW THROUGH EVOLUTION.....KILLING OFFICERS!!!!!
Never have we been treated by the savages so ruthlessly!
If JODI doesnt get fired, AND some sort of TRUSTED LEADERSHIP get appointed!!!
NOT YOU MERITORIOUS POLITICAL FUCKS WHO SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN PROMOTED!!!
We will see a continued decline to our once great city!!!
RIP OFFICER FLISK!!!!!!!!!!!!
MAY YOUR SACRIFICE NOT BE FORGOTTEN, BUT THE NEW BEGINNING FOR YOUR BROTHER OFFICERS, WHO WERE THE ONES TRULY BEHIND YOU!!!
THIS KILLING OF POLICE NEEDS TO STOP!!!!!!!!!!
WE ARE THE GOOD GUYS!!!!!!!!!
MY HEART BLEEDS FOR YOUR FAMILY!!
I can't remember an E.T. ever being attacked before, it's crazy out there and everyone better be on their toes at all times.
R.I.P. M. Flisk
may god bless you. rest in peace dear friend. unbelievable...
you keep saying take the streets back, but you know that's not going to happen...
Words can not express the sorrow ……
WTF, Is it open season on us or what? and we cant do shit back without jfled stripping us!
RIP Brother!
Did Mike work in mass transit before? God bless him and his family.
Mike Flisk was a nice person, Evidence Technician, family man. He liked to help people in many different ways. He liked to fix cars, and help us out 3 days ago and fixed our brakes on our Toyo...ta. He cared about his family and his neighborhood. Back in August Beverly was getting hit with residential burglaries, we talk about neighborhood on a daily basis. Mike found fingerprints at 2 of the 5 burglary scenes in Beverly. It did not matter if the burglary was in Englewood or in his neighborhood, he did his job and he did it well. He will be missed! It was nice to know you Mike, I will never forget you. It hurts when it hits close to home.
R.I.P 3rd watch 377
My heart is aching for all of you on the CPD. I honestly don't know how you all are functioning on a day-to-day basis. Know that those of us who don't wear the badge, still keep all of you in our hearts. Please be careful out there and know we share the loss of your fellow officers. As the proud mother of a Chicago Police Officer for many years, I can only offer prayers for your CPD family and the families of those who were tragically taken from you all this week. St. Micheal, where are you when we need you?
Police Officer Mike Flisk was a good man and an excellent E.T. He was also one of the CPD'S SOLO Motorcycle officers who rode many other officer's funerals with us. When we did our proficiency rides he talked about his job and how on one occasion he had lifted a print at a burglary that resulted in an ID that cleared a pattern. That's exactly what he was doing when he was murdered. His job. Something he was good at and proud of doing. When he wasn't handling a job he was out in 022 doiing patrol. Up and down the alleys looking for burglars. He also enjoyed riding his own bike. He could always be counted on as a SOLO rider, no matter the reason, or the weather, to be available to ride an escort. He has ridden several other officer's funerals as well. Rest in Peace Mike. We'll be riding for you this time.
Rip Mike, you were always a pleasure to work with and a true professional. God Bless you and your family.
“'We will squeeze that neighborhood, and we will find out who did this,' said Weis."
Sure you will, JFLED. Just so long as no criminal dirtbags get their hair mussed or their feelings hurt by the corrupt and uncaring police, right?
"Depolicing" has already happened in Chicago. What's next after these vicious murders of cops? Vigilantism? I wouldn't rule it out. Management, the courts and the politicians have abandoned any pretense at holding anyone but CPD officers responsible for their actions. Why is anyone surprised that near anarchy is the result?
My deepest condolences to the Fisk family and CPD.
A cop, but not CPD.
Take your rest brothers. You've served this city well. We'll take it from here.
Another officer shot in cold blood. Gang members bragging that they were going to "Dome" a cop (shoot him in the head).
Since I retired in 2001, 19 police officers have been killed in the line of duty.
We were known as the toughest gang in Chicago, until the mayor his crony alderman, a superintendent that never understood The Police and could never earn their respect, judges, and so-called victims ruined this honorable police department by tying our hands as they publicly scrutinized our work to earn votes, catered to grandstanding preachers, set dangerous criminals loose and sued for a payday while putting many fine men and women and their families through the hell of unfounded lawsuits that the city settled without a fight to vindicate the men and women that protect its very existence.
We see that the residency rule keeps us in the City to promote its tax base, yet our pension is threatened by poor investments including those involving the Mayor's relatives and friends. Daley demands that all officers be responsible yet scandal after scandal involving numerous city departments and sending Daley's friends, who he appointed to positions in the city, to jail as well as convicting 28 alderman since the late 80's means nothing and Daley's pat answer is that he knew nothing about the illegal activity. If you want to stand by that answer then you have to answer this question ITS YOUR JOB TO KNOW, WHY DIDN'T YOU? Simple, absolute power, absolute corruption.
Now another officer is gone, the superintendent reads from a script, haven't heard from Daley yet, and the rank and file mourn respectfully again only to go out and stand the line day after day without backup from the people they serve and protect.
If the people are sick and tired of the gang violence, as they proclaim loudly with their preachers in front of the news cameras, then they should come out and say "let the police clean up the streets, we have nothing to hide and have no fear of arrest". Good luck. Everybody has an agenda and as long as fear and racism is kept alive by preachers, people who need an excuse for their self inflicted failures, and politicians who cater to the vote and not the good of the community, then our hands will remain bound.
I can't remember an E.T. ever being attacked before, it's crazy out there and everyone better be on their toes at all times.

There have been one or two forensic officers killed in the line of duty
Everytime a police officer is murdered, a portion of you is murdered also......my children ask if I have to work the streets, and I have to tell them I have no control over that but I will do my best to be careful and pray that I will return home safely everyday.
I’d like to offer my deepest condolences to our Fallen Brother’s family and friends. Officer Flisk died a Hero and doing what he always loved, and that’s being a dedicated Police Officer.
As far as taking back the streets from these pieces of shits gang bangers and drug dealers. I hope the GEU, Narc Unit, MSF, TRU, SWAT, and all Tact Team city wide saturates the 004th Districts for a few weeks. Let these mother fuckers know that the CPD owns the City, not them! I believe that each Districts holds five M4 rifles. Well, fucking deploy them everyday/night. Show these cockroaches that we are not scared of them. I carry mine every time I’m on duty and I’ll fucking carry a bazooka if the department let me. Hell, I’ll fucking drive a TANK if that what it takes to intimidate these ANIMALS. You think I’m over reacting? Try telling that to our Fallen Brother’s wife and kids….
E.T.s should have another officer on scene to watch their back while processing alone.
Retired for a few years here and out of the city, so please forgive me if this is a dumb question.
Last night while watching the news, I think it was channel 5, it was mentioned that a "special warning" was giving to Chicago Police Officers about the bangers wanting to "DOME A COP". The news guy then explained, DOME means shoot some one in the head.
Is this true and what warning was given? RIP Mike, you did your time in HELL, God bless your family.
Michael, you are a fine man! Great father and husband and selfless friend. Always alert and aware in your neighborhood. So proud when your daughter was selected to attend St. Ignatius.
God rest your soul!!
My condolences to the entire Flisk Family. I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to have known Mike. Knowing that Mike Flisk would be working Special Employment (which he did all the time) I knew my day would be full of laughs. I look at his picture and cannot comprehend that I will no longer have that pleasure. I, for once in my life am at a loss for words! God Speed Mikey, u will be missed.
On Topic and Very Important:
Did anyone hear of an OFI investigator in this neighborhood just recently who was shot while telling bad guy repeatedly that he was not the police but a fireman. Is it possible that there is a cop killer in this neighborhood and none of us were informed of it? Instead this tragedy took place, and we lose another active brother and another retired brother. RIP Brothers in Blue and Godspeed!!!
God bless you Mike. TY for all the years of service to this damn city. You did your job the way it should be done. I pray for your family and for all of us on CPD.
I am so angry! We need to stop this crap. No 99 units on 5rd/1st watch. Band together! Say NO!
016 Revolver
This is an outrage. Weis giving a tacky prepared "news conference" at the hospital. How does he feel about the manpower issue now? How does Dart feel now with his empty jail cells? How does Alvarez feel about dropping felony charges & upgrades? How does Quinn feel about early releases? How does the media feel about giving all the press to the family of dead offenders that point or shoot at police ? How do watch commanders feel about 99 units in some of the worse districts in the city-make that the country. How does the Mayor sleep knowing how he ruined this city.
CFD gets a beat car to go with them, that's fine, how about us? Time to re-write our response protocol. No more going into these hot spots alone.
It's time to get a new Superintendant of POLICE. No need for a media clown.
R.I.P. OFFICER FLISK . My condolences go out to the families. And may God bless and watch over all my Brothers in Blue. Be safe.
CCSD DEPUTY
I never had the pleasure to have known. E.T. Flisk but his cousin Jack worked for me before I retire.
jack, my condolences go out to you and your family. If there's anything that I can do, you know I can be reached.
Sgt. Bruce Rapa
20th District (RET)
Yet we are continually led by clouted appointees and a coward for a superintendent..........
RIP BROTHER.
Retired 477
I remember when threats were made against the police after police involved shooting where 2 stones bought it.
Sgt requested following night on same block, 3 cars backed him up, officers out, weapons drawn with cover, no answer at door...2 squads and sgt backed down the street with the 4th watching our 6.
ALWAYS be aware of a possible ambush.
Rest in Peace, Chicago Police Evidence Technician Michael Flisk and Chicago Housing Authority Officer Stephen Peters (retired).
May God take care of them and their families, and may CPD take care of the rest.
Makes me think about all of the jobs we take 10-99 and say "I'll let you know, squad". I'm part of the problem, I do it all of the time.
I would never have expected an ET to get killed "only" processing a damn garage burglary!
It should be a standard policy of the City of Chicago to offer a reward for information in the slaying of a police officer. Say $100,000? I am shocked that they do not do this.
My prayers go to the Flisk families. I worked with Mike several times along our careers. Great guy that will be missed.
WHY??? I just don't understand - he was processing the scene for a property crime. How does that result in the loss of two lives?
We have been painted as villains when we are the heroes, risking our lives to save others. This has to stop. If it doesn't, it serves as justification for our murders. 6???Sick.
We need a PR department that aggressively dismantles the barrage of bogus claims against us. Undefended, they gain credibility. Say we can't comment on specific incident under investigation, but here is the LAW. Here is reality. Distribute to the media the videos that show officers being murdered in what seem to be simple traffic stops. Put video services back together and have them create scenarios that show how deadly our job is and why we should never be expected to act as Wal-Mart greeters. Publicly CONFRONT IDIOTS and tell them THEY ARE WRONG when they are in fact wrong - like the rev. who refused to obey those police orders years back. Say to him, it doesn't matter who you are, you still have to obey the law. STOP CATERING TO CRIMINALS! When these criminals accuse us of wrong doings - and admit in sworn affidavits their very serious crimes - PROSECUTE THEM TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW!!! Stop making the police the whipping boys of society.
Why exactly is the FBI targeting cops and giving criminals carte blanch? Get a badge get a promotion??? HOSTILE WORK ENVIRONMENT! The two po's were right - start suing. Unfortunately, it is the only way to get some people to do the right thing. But forcing them, pursuing the real criminals and publicly exonerating us will result in fewer lives being senselessly lost.
Flisk - you are a hero and, in my heart, you will ALWAYS be remembered as such. I vow to honor your ultimate sacrifice by doing everything in my power to make this job safer for those you've left behind. RIP.
God Bless Mike Flisk, the Flisk family, his friends, co-workers and loved ones.
R.I.P. Brother!
Amazing wasn't that long ago we went few years with no deaths? Daley lets manpower go south and brings Jfled in, look what happens.....
ET S SHOULD RIDE 10-4 FROM NOW ON!!MAKE MORE OF THEM,SAFETY IN NUMBERS!!
To both families of the fallen officers, words cannot express the loss your families must be experiencing.
All I can do is wish you my deepest condolences and prayers are with you.
RIP Officers. GODSPEED!
Brothers and sisters of the C.P.D. please know that we mourn with you on the loss of your brother. The members of the C.F.D. know what each of you do on a daily basis and we support and appreciate your tireless efforts. Every firehouse in the city is your safe haven from the street, a cup of coffee, check on the game, check in at home. Please know that we will stand with you always and if you find yourself alone on the street call for us we will stand with you their also. Whatever you need to help you through this time just ask us we have your back.
God Bless the Flisk Family....my prayers are with you! RIP Officer...RIP.
I am SO sick of this! The policies of this incompetent superintendent and his USELESS merry men, this criminal mayor, the thieving aldercreatures, the liberal hating media and THANKLESS public has got to stop!
If this was a private entity, the federal indictments would have flown years ago!
We are all we have my brothers and sisters! PLEASE remember that no matter what we think of each other, BACK EACH OTHER UP! Fuck their RAP bullshit! If you ever hear of an officer responding 99, slide by if you're near! FUCK this department, city and hating public!
The ONLY responsibility we have is to go home to our families at the end of the day!
May St. Michael rubuke thy enemies of these officers!
RIP Officers.
I work in a city wide unit. I have stopped many times at a street stop or traffic stop conducted by other officers. I stop not to interfere, but to provide a little back-up and to let the subject of the investigation see he/they have more than one copper to deal with. A few times I've had PO's give me the, who the hell are you, look.
Well I'm a 24 year veteran that doesn't want to see any fellow officers hurt or killed.
I'll continue to do this. Because it's just us out there, nobody else gives a fuck! Not the citizens, politicians, or even the brain-trust at 35th street.
My heart is broken . . . .
Mary
INSANITY IS DOING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND EXPECTING A DIFFERNT OUTCOME.....WHAT MORE IS IT GOING TO TAKE????
My heartfelt sympathies to E.T. Flisk's entire family and all my fellow officers who find themselves mourning yet another.
RIP E.T. FLISK....WE WILL NEVER FORGET!!!!
According to the "community" Jody broke up the "good old boy" network and they love him for it.
You will never get support from Jody, from the communities you serve and the media. We are trapped in a liberal anti-authority bubble.
Do what it takes to go home at night, nothing more. Let the city burn and the animals kill each other.

God Bless you and your family brother! Stay strong and please remember the CPD family will always be here and near for the Flisk's.
"We will squeeze that neighborhood and we will find the people who did this... And if any officer as much as looks at someone in a threatening manner, I will see to it that they will be sitting in federal prison with Cozzi." Jody Weis.
Any job that's given should be handled by at least 2 persons. F' the backlog, safety comes first.
--Back in the day we rode on each others jobs just because checking off at the end of the day was most IMPORTANT. Even the bosses back then told us they didn't care if we came in with nothing, just back each other up & go home to our families. You had back up on loud music calls and now you don't get back up on shots fired calls.
NOW it's become a #'s game out there and people would rather get an arrest than ride on a job of a fellow officer. The bosses need to change their mentality about #'s. You can't get into a unit unless you produce, you can't be assigned a certain car unless you produce. Get your priorities straight Officers AND get your head out of Jody's ass BOSSES! For the bosses that want to play follow the leader to save their own skin, SHAME ON YOU!!! Get back to basics because that's when things were good and we were safe! I will check off with a Goose Egg but I I'll ride on 20 jobs. That is the way I was trained and I will always be that way. I have ZERO respect for this department and it's leadership.
It’s good to know so many people feel as angry, sad, and helpless as I do. The problem is that our words on this blog won’t solve anything. We need to DO something about it. Does anybody know of any actions that are being taken by “us” to stand up to Jody, Al, Jesse, and all of the people who are enabling these gang bangers to literally get away with murder. In my mind, these guys are criminals. How many more times does this have to happen before we take action. The time is RIGHT NOW.
St. Michael The ArchAngel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the snares and wickedness of the Devil,,may God rebuke him, We Humbly Pray, That Thou, The Prince of The Heavenly Host, by The Power of God, cast into the fires of Hell, Satan and all the evil spirits that prowl the world for the ruin of souls. Amen. Eternal Rest grant Unto Him O Lord, and may the souls of all the Faithfully Departed Rest in Peace. RIP E/T Flisk
St. Denis Pray for Us...
"Somebody killed a policeman today, and a part of America died. A piece of our country he swore to protect ,will be buried with him at his side. The suspect that shot him will stand up in court, with counsel demanding his rights. While a... young widowed mother must work for her kids, and spend many long, lonely nights. The beat that he walked was a battle field too, just as if he'd gone off to war. Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast, to his name they will add a gold star. Yes, somebody killed a policeman today, in your town or mine. While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors, a cop put his life on the line. Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street, and he stands at each new rookie's side. He answered the call, of himself gave his all, and a part of America died." - Author Unknown. Everyone please say a prayer for our fallen officers, and the officers out there protecting us.

That is beautiful........
-010 1st watch
As long as the perception of our department lies with the reflection of Superintendent Jodi Weis (An EX FBI Agent in a suit) and Michael Masters (An educated man, but has no business even being affiliated with the Chicago Police Department on ANY level), we will NOT be respected on the streets of Chicago.
I know your foot is out the door Mayor Daley but it is TIME. This is a daily morale buster just having our department managed because they are not running this department, by these NON POLICE BUREAUCRATS. Our lives are now also engulfed with some level of fear. Let’s be honest. We are discouraged everyday with the state of the department, the constant slums we patrol, the sadness of this world, the depression due to the economy and the crime in our own neighborhoods, now we are also seen as victims!
We need a real POLICE leader NOW. Not in May when you finally retire or in March when this idiot's contract is up! We need it NOW! How many more of us have to die for your ego!
CAN I REPEAT THIS THREE TIMES!
Rest easy and God Bless......
Cicero PD
I am also numb. The post from Mike's brother just really touched me. I cannot imagine the pain his family is feeling right now. In 18 yrs on the job this is the first time I recall an ET getting killed. It really goes to show, it doesn't matter what position you hold on this job, or where you work. We all have a mark on our back. Citizens are going to have to wait for service, everyone should back each other up on all calls, no matter what the priority is. Nobody should go on any call alone!! Even a traffic accident. Screw downtown if they don't like our response time!! Its time for us to start looking out for each other 1st!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have spent much time with the 'coppers" of the CPD over the years both in Chicago and down at the Police Memorial Service in Washington and have always felt you were true brothers and sisters in blue. Hearing the news today of yet another murder of a CPD officer gunned down i just wanted to let you know that a prayer service was held for Officer Flisk today here in NY and that the thoughts and prayers of many in the NYPD are with you during this most trying of years,
Could we please post the notice for the wake of former officer Steven Peters who was murdered alongside ET Flisk. He deseerves our respect also
To Tim Flisk from a citizen troller: We citizens too mourn your loss and will be thinking of and recite Mike and his family in the uplifting of prayers tomorrow. To all the rest of you coppers, stay safe. I remember the woman interviewed on TV during the lock down when asked about the heavy police presence. She said she liked it and it should be done more often. Remember there are decent people there who have no where else to go who want the police there too.
http://positiveleo.wordpress.com/2010/11/23/project-blue-light-let-your-blue-lights-shine-for-law-enforcement-during-the-holidays/
Let us start by showing support and a show of force and let the party begin. NO more kid gloves for these savages(not animals cause I wouldn't want to insult animals in that manner).
God Bless you Officer Flisk. Rest in Peace Brother.
My heart goes out to the family, but my rage as a CPD officer, that is going to go in a different direction.
Stop asking for permission to take these streets back. If you don't want to take them back call in sick. Tell the desk sergeant that you are feel sick to your stomach due to fear of being the police. As long as you don't act like an ass you can still be the police.
The shitheads just showed us that they are willing to execute one of ours in the middle of the day while he is in uniform. there is no mistaking this as an open act of aggression. An offender from this incident will be found but he or she is not the root of the problem. The fact that they think they can do this kind of stuff and get away with it is the real problem. The environment that tells a shithead to attack a police officer is the problem. If we cant attack the person responsible we can attack the environment that lead to this event. And hopefully while doing this we turn over enough rocks that we find the little worm that did this.
Ten years ago not a single copper would have gone home until there was so much pressure placed on the community that the neighborhood would have dropped off the offender with the murder weapon making him give a full confession along with a note the neighborhood asking that we stop fucking them up. But that was because they knew that this kind of activity was crossing a line and THEY FEARED THE POLICE RESPONSE! Well they don't fear our responses anymore because we have de-clawed ourselves. Everyone is so afraid to do what it takes that noone will do it anymore. This is the result.
Stop the marches, no more petitions to the same cocksuckers that dont give a shit if we live or die.
If you are a 99 unit tell the dispatcher that you refuse to take a job without backup. Allow the rap to happen. Fuck them. They dont care about you. And when you get to the job if someone gets out of hand fuck him up. But do it right. Cuffed is cuffed. End of story.
Wait it out until a new mayor is elected and a new chief is selected and dont count on any boss backing you. Dont put yourself in a position to need them. Kick ass, get cb's and trr's on all of em and watch each others backs.
I was watching the news and thought Jody Weis was a disgrace. I would have liked to see him look into the camera and say "One of our own has been killed and now I am going out and help catch the son of a bitch who did it and help take him, one way or the other". I gues that would have taken a leader and Jodi and a lot of others on this job are not. My condolences to the Flisk Family
Proactive policing in this city has been moribund during the tenure of Sup. Weis. Now officers who are rightfully appalled due to the lack of respect by the thugs of this city have an unwelcome dilemma with which to recon: Be forcefully proactive and invite prosecution and civil trials or lay down and continue to be slaughtered by the animal. Certainly Officers presently have no good choices.
Rest in Peace Officer Flisk.
Dear Jody,
While you may not be the direct cause of the loss of yet another officer, you ARE going to be held responsible in my eyes. Since you were brought in to pussify the police, you have taken away the respect and fear that the savages once had. Good people respect the police, bad people fear the police. That is the way it shouuld be and you have taken that away with your vindictive witchhunts and bullshit investigations. This is a dangerous job, but as an E.T., you are alone in doing your job and left vulnerable to attack when there is no fear of what your attack on the police could bring. R.I.P. office, you were not taken in vain. We will bring this to closure for your family which they so deserve.

No one should go 99 to a job. Whether its a supervisor request, burglary report, missing person report, auto accident. Any job that's given should be handled by at least 2 persons. F' the backlog, safety comes first. Sorry for the rant. May G-d bless all of our Officers who have passed away. Stay safe.

I agree. However, guess who the biggest enemy is? It is ourselves. I tried my coworkers to do just that but to no avail. And then we bitch and complain. Go figure that out.
What a NICE GUY...What a HUGE LOSS
RIP Brother
377 1st Watch
God bless the Flisk family and our CPD family.
As I went through my files to post a poem or reflection on behalf of me and my family, the more I read, the more sadness engulfed me and then the anger crept in. I am praying for my own peace as I pray for his family and our department.
I am praying for our officer, that his heart and mind are at peace with our father, I am praying for his entire family, especially for his sisters and brothers in blue who have to endure the loss of their brother with a reminder every single day, as they load/check their weapon, put on a uniform and report for duty. I am praying for his wife and children who will never get over him departing so soon. Lets be honest. They will all learn how to deal with the loss of the one they love, and learn to deal with that loss better and better as the years go on, but that pain will be there forever!
12:22AM
Amen to that, brother...when the lawyers stop inhibiting the police from performing their jobs; when the politicians get their greedy mitts out of our Dept., when the City stops settling nonsensical and frivolous lawsuits, thereby placing members in jeopardy of having to pay money from their own pockets to the dogs and scumbags who now populate most of this God-forsaken city; when the almighty Daley clan decides that it's finally time to back-up police officers with new hirees....when all of the above starts to happen...then, maybe then, we can start to see the tide of bestiality and perniciousness turned back.
Until then, no one understands or cares about us...and very few are aware.
Back each other up, even on jobs that aren't a priority (if you can, while you're trying to get rid of the 5 jobs on the computer).
Let's realize that is really IS us v. them, and until society quits making friends with the Vandals and instills some trust and awareness into those that are vigilant, be aware that it could happen to anyone...at any time.
Think Shortshanks at any time thought it was necessary to go out to the scene of any of these Homicides of police?
Think he would have been there if one of his revs or cronies was the victim?
Retired, but still fired up...
Rest in peace officers. You will never be forgotten.
There are many people impacted by your deaths. Family, friends, fellow officers, supervisors, command staff, neighbors, citizens you served…the list goes on and on…
There are many people right now who are hurting. There are many people right now who want to do something to contribute and to grieve.
Below is a list of actions you may consider taking in light of the two most recent homicides of our fellow Chicago Police Officers. Please add to the list with your own thoughts and ways of coping with the loss.
ARE YOU OUTSIDE THE CIRCLE OF PEOPLE CLOSE TO THE OFFICERS BUT WANT TO DO SOMETHING TO HELP?
Donate food, soda, or coffee, along with a card expressing your condolences and support, to:
- the deceased officers’ families and the guests they will have over in the weeks to come;
- the officers, crime lab and evidence personnel, detectives, etc who responded to the scenes; or
- for those they worked with who must put on their uniform and go to work despite their overwhelming loss.
Have your children draw pictures thanking the police for what they do each day and bring to your local district. (These really do cheer us up.)
Have a positive encounter with an officer? Write them a complimentary letter. Or, in light of all the recent CPD homicides, write a letter to your local district commander sharing your condolences and positive thoughts regarding the police officers who put their lives on the line each day. The commanders will ensure these letters are posted in a highly visible place in the district.
Make a donation to the officers’ families, the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation, the Peer Support Program, or other law enforcement related cause.
ARE YOU A SERGEANT, LIEUTENANT, CAPTAIN, COMMANDER, etc?
Allow the person impacted to take time off. Reach out to other units for assistance if manpower is a concern. Encourage your officers to support one another and those impacted. Thank the officers who counsel others for their compassion and help. At roll calls, speak highly of the deceased officers and let everyone know you are there for them. Provide updates on actions that have been taken by the department or those in your unit on behalf of the deceased officers. Provide timely information on the investigations, if facts are available. Remind officers of EAP and the Peer Support Program, which are there not only for them but for their family members as well. The telephone numbers to EAP and Peer Support are in every FOP book. Call EAP if you think your unit could use support from EAP at roll calls. Ask your officers how they are doing.
ARE YOU SOMEONE WHO IS GRIEVING OR CONCERNED FOR SOMEONE ELSE’S HEALTH AND WELL BEING?
Talk with, be supported by and provide support to others who are grieving too.
Call and talk with someone from EAP or Peer Support about your concerns.
Know an officer who has been impacted? Let him or her talk, ask open-ended questions like “How are you feeling? Tell me about him” and “I’d really like to support you. What can I do?” Most of all, listen to the officer talk without lending advice or judging.
Are you a family member of an officer, and feeling down or scared? Know that the EAP and Peer Support are here for you too. Call at any time 24/7.
Write a letter, email, or post to an online memorial page to the officers’ families, sharing your thoughts and good memories of the deceased officers.
Share your personal thoughts on your FB page with friends. Support one another by checking in frequently.
A good resource for those left behind by officers killed in the line of duty is http://www.nationalcops.org/. Check it out and tell others about it and other helpful resources of which you are aware.
Share ideas on healthy ways to cope with the grief with those you see are impacted by the CPD deaths.
Above all, know you are not alone. These are hard times, but we are strong and will always be strong in one another.
Again, I am so sorry for your loss. This is truly tragic. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Officer Flisk, and to the P/O's family at the CPD.
R.I.P. :(
Mike, I pray for you and the family you cared so much for. We always had a laugh together when we worked in pts together. You will be missed and never forgotten.
Im so so sorry for your family. May the pos coward burn in hell and hopefully one of us puts him there... your friend from the lincoln units & SMF
We are fighting a well armed army people.
If we don't put a stop to this sanctuary city stuff where we don't know who these people are or why they are here the violence is going to look like Ciudad de México or Rio in Brazil.
This is not an anti Immigrant rant. It's about the laws. It's about a black market economy thriving on the sales of drugs. It's about societies failure to create an environment where people that want to work within the system are instead barred from it and stereotyped by the so-called best and brightest.
We're scanning all Americans and doing pat downs at the Airports throughout the nation and how many back-scatter body scanners and pat downs do you see going on at our borders eh? How many?
Look at Rio today.
---clip---
Hundreds of Brazilian soldiers are reinforcing Rio de Janeiro police and patrolling an occupied shanty town as squads move into the city’s biggest crime stronghold.
The 800-strong Army force, including soldiers who were part of Brazil’s peacekeeping troops in Haiti, is strengthening security as criminals shoot at police and helicopters while attacks on cars and buses spread across the beachside city for a sixth day. About 300 federal police and 21,000 Rio officers are also securing the streets after dozens of vehicles have been set ablaze and 25 people died in shootings since Nov. 21. ..
more via..>> http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-11-26/rio-police-troops-take-over-crime-stronghold-after-unrest-leaves-21-dead.html
Rio has tanks in the streets and it's now over a hundred cars set on fire not dozens.
The politicians here in Chicago need to get their heads out of their ^^^es before this colonization of drug war lords gets established and entrenched here. It already has a good foothold just look around us.
Nancy Regan declared a war on drugs many years ago. We also declared a war on poverty and a war on hunger. We declared a war on terrorism. We better stop declaring wars on things as it's making these words meaningless. We haven't one a single one of them.
Isn't it obvious that these police shootings are coordinated pre-meditated attacks and not crimes of passion, opportunity or done by some mentally deficient individuals.
They're probing our weak points attacking when we have our guard down.
One shot off duty at home washing his car, another shot off-duty in front of his home next to his motorcycle, another off duty in a police parking lot, another one gets it off duty in the back of the head inside his SUV. Now you need to set up a perimeter to look for snipers when the evidence technicians are dispatched.
Let's stop calling them street gangs members shall we. It minimalizes everything that is currently going on.
Like it's only high school kids fighting amongst themselves.
This is war. It's been a war for some time.
Do we have to wait until we see the be-headings and the improvised explosive devices and car bombs before we get serious? I don't mean to sound over-dramatic but isn't that where we're headed? How soon before we have to run missions to locate and recover the bodies of the fallen eh?
Get serious Chicago. Let's stop the increase parking ticket details and the seat belt patrols we can't afford the manpower.
RIP
Yeah don't worry,
The crystal ball gazers will save us.
Once HR gets those tech savvy multilingual officers of the future that knows that the solution is not always an arrest and is able to communicate with the community these problems will just go away....right?
Yeah, I know..I don't mean any disrespect for the fallen officers.
It's not the time for sarcasm..I don't blame you should you decide not to post this rant.. just so pissed off ya know.
Look how well that park district gang social that was held worked.
Maybe the leaders that ran it were not speaking the right language huh? Did they forget to send them a tech savvy text message with their iphones? Maybe that's it.
By the way - are the tow trucks rolling yet? That's what's important.
Generating department revenue and shifting manpower to increase our parking patrols. Looking for people driving with their seat beats unfastened - parked in handicapped parking zones, that's where the money is. the easy money is - not getting the bad guys off the streets.
Like the city has this abundance of manpower for that.
Hey don't worry about getting "popped in the dome" as they say. Look at all the park-ers we wrote today targeting the weak average middle class people that are trying to earn a living within the system.
They are such easy targets don't you know? They can't afford time off their jobs to contest traffic tickets so taking the money from them is like taking candy from a baby.
Yeah..even if they did contest them and win, they lose because of the lost wages from work.
Tying up the court system with drug dealers and people shooting people - there's no money to be made by the city for doing that. The judges or the Governor will most likely put them right back on the streets anyways.
These people are broke or their cash is untouchable for the most part. How is the city gonna make any money from them?
Spend the departments money on more red light cameras. That's where the revenue generation is at, more parking ticket books. It's more important to get that guy that rolled thru a crosswalk at 3 MPH than adding manpower to protect you from getting popped in the head. Right?
Besides if we get all the bad guys off the streets how will our politicians extort the citizens for more taxes. They need these tools because motivation by fear works to unite people and we all know.."NEVER LET A CRISIS GO TO WASTE"
I hope we all think about this come election time.
Please pass along my deepest condolences to OFFICER
Flisk's family and may good watch over them.
R.I.P BROTHER YOU ARE WITH A SPECIAL GROUP OF PEOPLE IN HEAVEN now.
RIP Brother Flisk
From all of your friends at
Public Trans.
You WILL be missed.
What civilians dont understand is that if the people guarding the walls are being killed, whos protecting the ones inside???
I believe as the new year approaches WE must select a day to march on city hall that we are not going to take it anymore. If the citizens of this city, county, state, and nation want us to keep proactive policing they must put some skin in the game. For 2011 we must demand NO MORE 99 UNITS on all three watches(including et's),that citizens back the police department, bring the department to full strength, and laws that idemnify police officers while acting under the color of law. Until then I say we have to do some form action and thing will only get worse.
11/27/2010 12:22:00 AM
You Sir hit the nail on the head.
11/27/2010 08:57:00 AM
There was a CFD OFI inspector shot and seriously wounded in that area some time ago. Like in 2009. He was investigating an AggArson Standing in an alley when he was shot. He has recovered and retired.
That area needs to naped.
Prayers for the Officer and family and CPD.
Lots of anger and hatred over this one. Stay professional. Dude has cell phone cameras going at every stop we make.
6:04.....Its about time some anger and hatred welled up in this pussified department. Aim it where it counts - at your political leaders that foster the savage.
Back eachother up, give "appropriate" service to the ghetto, and pressure the pols in your home areas. Don't let these cocksuckers off the hook.
No more one-man cars. Hold Daley accountable, now and forever......
Mike We met last week on a job you were processing. We spoke briefly and then you left to complete your CSPR. If I had only known that would be the last time I would ever see you again..... You were a great ET and officer.
620 RBT
Crime must be down since I got this fancy ribbon...... It has to be true since the department has all the stats to prove it! Thanks Jody!
It's time to take back the streets and show these animals
Uh...Officer Blake's funeral tomorrow, and still no "press conference..."
JFled Time to Go if you have any honor
Safety and Security Fire the Top CMDR Weiss He is responsible for all of us. He has failed. Time to go!!
Adm Kimmel and Gen Short Fired for Pearl Harbor attacks. JFLED Nothing done. WTF. If he were in the USMC he'd be relieved of command
Is the current state of the department all the fault of J-Fed. I think not. It is years of political clout, merit promoting of people on clout not ability. An administration that pays off lawsuits. A media that is negative towards the police. Liberals that greatly enhance what rights are for criminals. A lack of leadership and discipline department wide. Supervisory and Command people that think the way is having the right answer at a meeting. Time to really band together men and women. Marches, blue flu, ticket blitzes, sit downs in front of the hall and federal building. Better start doing something. Bad guys aren't afraid of you anymore.
To all you ragers out there- the fault lies in city hall and the Democratic crime party.
They have allowed the gangs and drug dealers to have free reign in this city. Now, the gangs are urban armies and the drug dealers their bankers.
The city was put in fear after the so called Rodney King riots. The riots were never about King. The riots were the gangs going to war against the LAPD for drug crackdowns.
Daley saw that and said not in my city. He cut a deal. They gangs do not riot and loot and he leaves them alone.
Weis was the perfect yes man to run the department. He could care less about crime, gangs, or drugs. He only cares about numbers- how many cops can he ruin. He did the same in the FBI. He was hated there.
The criminals know they can do what they want. They are proving it. They also know nothing will be done to stop it. They control the city. One cop kills a major gang banger or dope dealer and they will riot for days.
None of the pooches running for mayor are addressing the issue of crime either. Rahm is Daley. Chico is Daley. Meeks- we all know about Meeks. Braun is in the gangs pockets. Danny Davis never met a criminal he did not like.
The city council is useless. Look how some of them sympathize with the gangs and drug dealers. Guess who gives them money?
So boys and girls, do not expect a solution soon. It is a pity.
There is one solution. But to put it out here would be, let's say, criminal.
I am truly sad today, I have not felt this type of pain since returning from combat and realizing that quite a few of my comrades were not with me.
I am sure I will heal, but what of the families of these two extraordinary men? Let us never forget them, they are our family as well. The families need our continued support from here on!
I read a lot of anger here on the blog and justifiably so, but anger without focus is wasted energy. The spineless creatures responsible for our murdered brothers must be dealt with on terms THEY understand.
The talK about worthless marches on City Hall... It's been done and has faLLen on deaf ears. The RUNT thaT calls himself Mayor, has had the luxury of armed guards all His miserable life! Do you think hE understands what danger is? The Superintendent, who is so far behind the parade he can't hear the band play! Chooses to have a "sit down" with the eneMy? After he sends a fine officer to a Federal Prison for slapping a P.O.S.!
The only "marching" we should be doing is out in the streets! In the known areas where these animals prey. Make them feel our anger, focused anger! A harmless ray of light becomes a deadly laser when focused. In every District in this city we ALL know who the assholes are? Let them know fear, let them be afraid to come out day or night!

I want to quit. Seriously. Fuck this job.
I hope I'm not the only one thinking this.
In the wake of the incident, Weis said police officials will review the policy of allowing evidence technicians to respond alone to crime scenes. But he said there was no reason to think Flisk was walking into a dangerous situation when he went to collect evidence in the garage.
"Keep in mind evidence technicians are not usually first responders. They don't go where an emergency exists," Weis said.
----------------------------------
Jesus Christ, Jody!!!! Just when I didn't think it was possible to demonstrate your complete ignorance of what it means to be a street cop any further, you make a comment like this. I have news for him & every 'not a cop' out there: in Chicago, every single cop who works the streets (and yes, evidence techs DO!)is a first responder. This entire city is in a constant state of emergency, and police officers-be it a beat cop or an ET never know what they will encounter around each corner or alley. This will continue to be the case until we get new leadership FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN THERE. I laugh everytime I hear Jody say how shocked he is that these bad things could happen. Spend a few weeks BEING THE POLICE, and nothing will shock you, Jody Boy.
I know this isn't the appropriate post to put my comment, so I hope SCC, that you can put it in somewhere that it fits.
Just read in the Trib that Jfled said that there was no reason to believe that Officer Flisk was walking into a dangerous situation when he responded to the ET call at the burglary scene. This just proves once again that he will NEVER understand our job. He doesn't get that we are taught to assume that EVERY situation we walk into on the job can be dangerous. All Weis did by making such an absurd statement is give fuel to the liberal mindset that the work we do isn't dangerous and worthy of respect. When we have had so many Officers killed in the line of duty this year, how could he try to portray any duty on this department as not being dangerous? We have become targets. Walking out of our houses off duty has become just as dangerous as going to work. Weis should be ashamed, but his ego won't allow it.
God rest your soul Officer Flisk.
Jody Weis is A piece of shit , Masters was running around like he was organizing A party , TOTALLY DISGUSTING display of leadership
We dreadfully mourn the loss of a fellow comrade, friend, husband, father and friend to all who have ever met Mike; yet our Supt has to read from a script duirng news conferences showing no emotion. We need to look out for each other since noone else has our backs....
RIP Mike, you fought the good fight
Our prayers are with you, the officer's family, his brother.
And when you are ready to do whatever it is that you have to do to stop this, I pray that people will stand with you.
And I hope every priest and minister and rabbi and other religious leader in Chicago stands before their congregation and urges them to do something . . . this time. Finally. One is too many.
Six good men murdered is the death of civil society itself.
Our local news just reported on this very sad moment. Very saddened - shocked.....WTF ! Read SCC very often....wow !
Rest in Peace Officer Flisk.
SLMPD northside........
Hey Fled, Why don't you give the "hood" a big squeeze. Try it on for size
It should be a standard policy of the City of Chicago to offer a reward for information in the slaying of a police officer. Say $100,000? I am shocked that they do not do this.
I AGREE! They pay these mutts out at the drop of a hat, for their BS law suits. Why can't they come up with some cash to find a killer of a cop?
Weiss has the answer. The reverends and CAPS volunteers will look for the offenders. Where is the chief of detectives? The best we can do is ask reverends and caps for help? We are screwed.
Possible offender in custody?
I'm kinda dizzy.
One of the most respected policemen who posts here mentioned the other day that everyone "needs to get control of their emotions" -- we need to see what's really happening. I'm trying.
Was I really seeing what I was seeing? Weis at the head of a huge procession to transport another dead officer to the morgue -- the helicopter overhead, its powerful searchlight creating an eerie pool around the ambulance?
I certainly mean no disrespect to anyone, but I gotta say it -- this one left me colder than cold. I just instinctively could not get next to it. Are we just seeing someone who's desperately trying to keep his job?
Seems like there's been a whole lot of this "I care" all of a sudden after Daley announced he wouldn't be running again...and I'm sickened by the idea that this tragic situation was similarly co-opted. "Cynical" isn't the word for these people.
OK. The one guy at the back of the room has spoken now, risking a stomping but with the good of all in mind.
"The Emperor has no clothes!" There.
What a Thanksgiving.
God bless all here.

They think this job and department is just a big joke, and a toy, or a box of toys for them to PLAY with... they have NO CLUE, and never will...
Yes, we joke and laugh a lot, but that is really a defense mechanism to enable us to handle the gruesome reality we deal with on a daily basis, AND IT ISN'T A JOKE, IT ISN'T FUNNY, AND IT ISN'T A GAME! IT IS LIFE AND DEATH FOR US .. FU JPW and MMM for your totally inappropriate attitudes.
Just read in the Trib that Jfled said that there was no reason to believe that Officer Flisk was walking into a dangerous situation when he responded to the ET call at the burglary scene.

I agree, WTF was JFled thinking? EVERY MOMENT is a dangerous situation for police officers.. Has he looked at the stats for that neighborhood? Any neighborhood in this city? It is unbelievable... but then every word out of JPW's mouth is unbelievable anyway.
"Keep in mind evidence technicians are not usually first responders. They don't go where an emergency exists," Weis said.

The chief of detectives is ineffectual. The exempts are basically cowards who will lower themselves to any level to protect their positions.
WRT: "But he said there was no reason to think Flisk was walking into a dangerous situation "
Here's a news flash mr. J fled,
Walking to the corner grocery store in some of your districts in broad daylight on a sunny afternoon IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION!
Standing near window inside your home in this city has become a DANGEROUS SITUATION.
You my friend are out of touch.
Now, with that said. How do I get to the Green Zone from here?
This horrible loss will truly change many lives for ever. There would never be a way to put into words in any way to express my deepest sympathy to the Flisk Family. It is unimaginable the grief suffered in this senseless inhuman act. I was lucky enough to work special a time or two with Mike and it was always easy to see he really loved being the police but truly loved his family most. I feel very lucky to have met such a kind soul.
Fred Hasenfang A/1/GEU
There is no such thing as "just a paper job" any more. Ask for back up on everything. If anyone denies it write down their name and file safety grievance. Call OSHA, call everyone. Keep the preasure in the city and the FOP.
There are NOT 13500 police on this department. What is the mayor doing with the money in the budget for the missing bodies?
It's becomming increasingly evident that the politicians and that posuer of Chicago top cop feels that cops on the front line (and citizens) are expendable.
That seems a reasonable conclusion, given the impediments those same people put in the way of the police to police effectively in the real world.
They give the predator every break and afford them every legal protection regardless of there being a history of scamming, troublemaking and/or assaults.
Liberals love to say such and such is a "false equivelancy". We'll it's one heck of a false equivelancy to make it impossible for cops to do what has to be done, incarcerating them for slapping shitbirds around while allowing the shitbirds to molest the citizenry physically and economically vis-a-vis the professional victim lawyers.
We citizens best undestand we need effective police more then we need the caliber of politicians (lawyers) that we have now.
That posuer of a top cop ought to take half the pay he receives for doing two jobs, the second of which he no longer does and the first of which he has been performing woefully inadequately and to contribute that half of his salary to the $10,000 reward for finding the animal that killed Officer Michael Flisk and Officer Stephen Peters (Ret.).
RIP Officer Flisk and Officer Peters.
To all the CPD and other responders in the jungle, take care of yourselves and each other. You are all extrodinary people.

Mike Flisk was one of the best policemen I ever had the pleasure to work with! His "end of watch" means that the city of Chicago is less safe today than it was two days ago. The entire Flisk family personifies selfless devotion to duty! I love and respect every one of them! Tim, if you are reading this, know that I still have that car on my desk at home and it is one of my most prized possessions; worth more to me than any award that I have ever received from the department. I wish that I had the fortitude to walk down the block and talk to you, Meg, Moe, Nora, mom & dad, but I truly cannot face the family and even try to make sense of this! I dont have an answer! I dont know how to explain or even attempt to reason how senseless this is! I'm usually better at dealing with shit like this, but this one has kind of paralyzed me! I'm sorry!
God bless officer michael flisk and his family.
You know Dart will find the media at the funeral. Remember he held a press conference and talked like he knew the last cpd officer that was murdered. Do everyone a favor and stay home tom unless you can just quietly pay your respects like everyone else.
RIP brother Flisk..Our condolences to your family and the rest of the CPD. I am a troop working the west side of the state but I have several good CPD friends. Its become open season on our brothers and sisters...God Bless and watch your back...
west side ISP..
Could we please post the notice for the wake of former officer Steven Peters who was murdered alongside ET Flisk. He deseerves our respect also
--Yes we should also show support for Mr. Peters and attend his service as well.
- I wish everyone would think like you. I am the same way. It's all about US going home.

FYI, for what it's worth, your Chicago Police Memorial Foundation, in addition to helping the family(ies) in a huge way also offer a $10K reward for information leading to arrest/conviction of any Chicago cop killer.
To the NYPD copper that posted here...
WE likewise support YOU in your time of tragedy and loss.
Thanks for the kind words.
We'll once again turnout in force here and at the National Memorial in D.C. to honor our fallen, as part of that Thin Blue Line that has no boundaries.
To the Flisk & CPD family,
I am so sorry for your terrible loss. My prayers go out for all of you & Michael.
God Bless!

"Now, with that said. How do I get to the Green Zone from here?
11/27/2010 11:15:00 PM"
uh, there is no green zone.
I can't remember an E.T. ever being attacked before, it's crazy out there and everyone better be on their toes at all times.

Elijah Harris ET-006 gunned down in the 80's after stopping a shit bag on a bicycle, who I thought just committed an armed robbery. The bridge over the Ryan where Elijah was murdered is dedicated to him in Honor.
This supe is a real asshole....." ET work not dangerous...not a 1st Responder" Any time you put on the uniform and are on the streets responding to anything It could be your last. But he does not realize it , as he never was the Police.
RIP ET FLISK
GOD Keep YOU ALL SAFE
A one time ET, now Ret. Lt.
RIP Flipper! God Speed!
