Video Gone - WHOOPS, It's Back!
The phone calls must have been flying thick and fast all day between the 011 District commander's office and the Woodlawn Union MB Church member who posted the Henny Penny video. After a few thousand visits here and a few thousand more to YouTube, the video was yanked without explanation.
Thanks to all the readers who saw the video for what it was. Your comments kept us laughing for hours.
UPDATE: Back by popular demand and the quick thinking of an SCC reader, we re-present the legendary video that is fast becoming an internet sensation!!!
And once again, for our slower readers, SCC didn't post it, SCC isn't making fun of anything, SCC isn't treading on thin ice with God. God has a sense of humor, tiny brains do not. It's a scientific fact. Look it up.

I'm glad the video is gone. It's not only embarrassing to the CPD, but embarrassing to myself after friends and family saw it and asked, "is that really a boss on the police department?" It should make Daley and Weiss want to hide their heads. 011 used to be a great place to work.

What amazes me is that some "MB church" member actually thought this was "noteworthy" enough to film and then post. Not looking at it as the rest of us did as cringe-inducing and an embarrassment to the department.

There is a nice extension called download helper for firefox. It helps you download online videos like from youtube to your PC. It is real easy to use.

If you saw the video, it is probably still on your computer. View your history files in the browser history- settings-view files and see if you can find it by the date and time you watched it. Cut and
paste it then use a program like VLC to watch it or send it to SCC? Maybe they can repost it?

Any beef attempted will be swiftly thwarted because none of these officers were doing anything other than an official police task of sitting in their car with their lights on. None of these officers were forced to pray, hold hands or perform any act that isn't a duty of the police.
The abuse stems from the fact that the lawful duty these people performed was for a purpose other than a police purpose, although Trashanas is just going to lie and say they were acting as security for the event, just like parade duty and any other event where police are sent to show presence.
THAT is the true problem. File a grievance for a "violation of separation of church and state"!

This is really embarassing on so many levels, and shows what happens in any public arena when a person who is not qualified (i.e. Sarah Palin)are given a public forum. It was very hard to watch a person, a pastor, a denomination, and a congregation make a mockery (no matter how unintentional) of something many people of faith adhere to. I know it may seem funny and was posted for comic relief, but it is tragic none the less. Worked for Penny, did not particularly like her bi-polar personality, but this is really really sad and one I have a hard time laughing at. But this is America where everything is fair game on the internet: So have at it.

After watching the video several times and reading all the comments about her "style" of dress, the problem lies in the fact that she did not "pull it off" because she was lacking a huge wardrobe element.
Those of you that wear flannel shirts and (GOD NO) plaid shirts may not have the sophisticated wardrobe instincts that others who dress more "in the know".
Women may or may not know what was needed in Penny's wardrobe selection either because they have become more addicted "phone drones" of the QVC or NBC "shop at home" crowds that buy colored sacks that the announcer says is "fashion forward" when it is really more "fashion dorky" than a "great fashion opportunity".
Penny could have pulled off this "look" if she had the Dorothy Tillman "70s Freddie's Dead" hat and inside holster ensemble.
You remember those bright green wide brims with the 2 or 3 long pheasant tail feathers and the

Penny could have worn that with a

I have absolutely no problem with Henny Penny, or any ACTUAL police officer, being enthusiastic about his or her religion. I go to church every Sunday myself. The problem I have with Trahanas is that from the time she got to 011, she has put her precious relationships with the "revs" above the safety and well being of the officers unfortunate enough to have to work for her. She makes poor decisions that any person with half a brain, let alone a commander, would know better than to make. Leading by example is such a foreign concept to her as well. (Like showing up at an HBT incident without a vest on etc..) She has DEMANDED an undeserved respect since she waltzed through the station doors for the first time...like expecting p/os to stand at attention when she walks into a room and then chewing out the Sgts when they didn't. She also has the social grace of a corn cob. She won't even make eye contact with an officer in the hall unless he happens to be an m/1.
She is a disgrace on so many levels that we don't even need to bring her preaching into it, although it did give me a good chuckle!

I have been retired 8 years, tell me this is not real.
I do hope that she see's her day of reckoning for all the rotten things she has done to po's during her tenure. However, as it has always been in the past, that she is never dealt with in a negative manner, but only rewarding her with promotions which she never deserved or was capable of doing. On the lighter side, she is definately the the CPD clown.
