The Inspector General?

  • The Chicago Police Department’s handling of a 2004 homicide case involving Richard J. “R.J.” Vanecko — a nephew of Mayor Daley and White House Chief of Staff William Daley — has come under scrutiny by a second outside law enforcement agency.

City of Chicago Inspector General Joseph Ferguson’s office began seeking documents about the case from the police at least two weeks before the Illinois State Police agreed Friday to do its own review at the request of Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez, the Chicago Sun-Times has learned.

Seriously, the IG, which can't even investigate aldercreatures by statute, is poking around in something that is should probably, eventually, be investigated by a federal agency. We aren't sure if this qualifies as "smoke" or "mirror," but we can't see it doing any good.

Maybe RJ, now that Anita has decriminalized payback as a rightious act of genepool clorination, will get what he so richly deserves...

The feds can investigate anybody for a violation of civil rights. It isn't for coppers only.

Let the witnesses tell their stories to the feds. First one to lie gets fucked. And good for them.

Let's get this case resolved.

The Inspector Generals Office is an absolute joke. Full of wonna be police hacks all trying to make a name for themselves. The only investigation that would worry me from the IGO would be one conducted jointly with a REAL law enforcement agency!

To avoid any appearance of impropriety --

"At the time of Koschman’s death, Grau was a deputy police superintendent with the Chicago Police Department, overseeing the department’s detectives. According to the State Police, Grau had no role in investigating the Koschman case but, “out of an abundance of caution, Mr. Grau will be recusing himself from the State Police’s review of the matter.”

As the city’s inspector general, Ferguson, a former federal prosecutor, has worked with federal authorities in investigating corruption at City Hall. One joint probe, “Operation Crooked Code,” has led to convictions of 21 people in a city Building Department bribery scheme."

How ya doin' there, R.J.?

It was the Office of Inspector General Joseph Ferguson, specifically Robert Grapenthien and his superior David Grossman who buried my cowardice complaint on what we now know as the incontrovertible evidence that J-Fled ("gotta run") is a LYING COWARD.

I am not impressed by their (lack of) integrity. Even with overwhelming damning evidence of J-Fled cowardice in his own conflicting words, Mr. Grossman, a former FBI agent, refused to respond as recently as J-Fled's flagrant lie during his March 4th radio interview on the WLS-AM 890 "Roe and Roeper" program.

Both smoke and mirror. This city is a joke. The criminal empire of Daley stretches to the White House with Bill taking Rahm's spot as chief of staff.

We are being run by anti-American criminals.

The more agencies and eyes, the better. Let's see if the outcomes jive. Pull up a chair and enjoy the show.

But 6'4" and 230 vs. 5'5", 120 and unarmed does not pass the smell test. Vanecko should be serving life. He's a cold-blooded murderer.

Adhering to the corrupt politics of "the Chicago Way", the OIG is nothing more than a textbook example of "the fox guarding the chicken coop".

The IG on a police investigation? WE really need to be rid of all the politicians and politics on this job. Maybe then some real police work could be done!

Why was the IG investigating your complaint Northside? Makes no sense.

Perhaps he is investigating the part that some non-police, city hall types had in killing the investigation?

How many open cases are sitting in the IG's office waiting for a disposition? That office seems to be a continuation of the old OPS- open 'em but never solve anything. Who monitors the IG anyway??

The whole investigation would be smoke and mirrors, and would be closed with a finding of insufficent evidence to warrant further investigation or indictment.

WHY?

Because:
1) The heads of the States investigatory agencies are eihter elected Democrats that have allegences and ties to the Daley Machine.

2) The Federal investigatory agemcies are all political appointees with allegiences to the DEMOCRATIC PARTY, and since Barak is the head of that party, and has ties to Chicago and Daleys Machine. Therefore the investigation will end with insufficent evidence to warrant further investigation or indictment.

My heart goes out to the family of David Koschman since the events that lead to his death (whether criminal or non-criminal) were (directly or indirectly) related to the the nephew of arguably the most powerful political family in the country. That family which has the President of the United States and the power of its office in its pocket.

So (IMO) your family will NEVER have closure, or justice in this matter.

No, I don't think so. I believe the Act says something like: "Under color of law or ordinance." That is one of the elements of the the offense, and therefore pretty much applies only to government officials.

No disrespect, but were you REALLY expecting someone to sustain your complaint of cowardice against the head of the 2nd largest police force in the country?

While I think we all got a chuckle from the 'gotta run' beef and the accompanying embarrassment to Jody when the story grew legs and went national, and how J-Fed keenly morphed into J-FLed, the goof is now out of our hair and it seems a rather moot point. Just sayin.

OIG? Smoke & mirrors to show how concerned city government is about all this.

ISP? Were it not for the fact that the Cook Co SA hadn't done a damn thing with the case since 2004 and her announcement about calling in the ISP was followed by confirmation of what was already rumored, that her very own Hiram Grau was getting the job as director.

I didn't spend 25+ in LE to become cynical... with me it comes naturally. This is bullshit and will go nowhere!

" Project Gunrunner" Obama's stimulus funded border nightmare.
Check out how Gov't spent $10 million to " stimulate " the economy and directly caused the murder of a U.S. Border Patrol Agent.
Obama sez' he don't know nuttin' bout' it...gee, I think I've heard that before somewhere.

I agree. The Office of the Inspector General was the end result of "passing the buck." I filed C.R. No. 1,035,137 vs. J-Fled charging COWARDICE through IPRA the very next day after the murder in 007 on Good Friday, April 2, 2010.

Ilana Rosenzweig, IPRA, advised me that the complaint had been reassigned to IAD. In turn, Cmdr. Robert Klimas, IAD, told me that my complaint was reassigned to the Office of Inspector General Joseph Ferguson.

In any other case, my complaint of COWARDICE would be within the purview of IAD. While in both the military and police agencies, the most egregious and despicable act of COWARDICE may not necessarily be a criminal offense but it certainly should at least result in a military dishonorable discharge or a CPD separation with prejudice.

IAD had a "smoking gun" case to fire J-Fled as the LYING COWARD he truly is.

But this is Chicago where clout rules.

There are some who proffer that with his March 1 departure, my complaint is now moot. I vehemently disagree. As far as I'm concerned and based on how he has disgraced the honor and integrity of our once proud CPD, J-Fled's tombstone should read "COWARD".

To 3/31, 11:07AM:

Under color of law or ordinance.

I don't think that the above applies to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Certainly the victim was deprived of these rights and I believe that any person can be prosecuted for these violations.
