War is Hell
Police Supt. Garry McCarthy declared war on the Maniac Latin Disciples after two young girls were shot in a Northwest Side park earlier this month.
The shooter was a member of the gang and was gunning for rival Latin Kings when the girls, ages 2 and 7, were wounded on June 8, prosecutors said. The younger girl was grazed in the head and the 7-year-old was seriously wounded in the back.
“We’re going to obliterate that gang,” McCarthy told a roomful of police supervisors shortly after the shooting. “Every one of their locations has to get blown up until they cease to exist.”
Two weeks later, 120 Maniac Latin Disciples have been arrested and seven guns recovered in what police are describing as phase one of their effort to cripple the gang of 300 to 500 members.
Of the gang members arrested since the shooting, 19 remained in jail while the others posted bond.
About five have been sent back to prison for parole violations such as testing positive for narcotics

so they did a couple of operation windy citys and got into the houses... a couple pissed hot and got sent back. A few others pissed hot and agreed to flip and give up a search warrant for a gun on a fellow MLD. Then they got a whole bunch of reckless conducts(mostly juveniles)...

Lets see what happens in court. My guess is FNPC on the warrants and SOL on the D/c's and other B/S charges. The Joe McCarthy era tried this and poor Joe and the city ended up in court with judgments against him and the P.D.

You guys are all badmouthing this, but 120 MLDs would not have been arrested at all if this ass hadn't shot up a playlot. You think It's enough aggravation for them to tell their "soldiers" not to shoot over little kids' heads? The goal doesn't have to be to wipe the gang out. Show me when there are 120 sentenced to life without the possibility of parole or a firefight with police resulting in the death of dozens of the scum breeding maggots. Then I will take a look, as it is, I sat through the entire morning call at Br 29 recently with not one case even going so far as probation.
Judge Calabrese (any relation to those other Calabrese family members?) spent his morning grinning broadly, smiling with lots of shining teeth and saying "So good to see you counselor, have a nice day counselor, I hope the family is well counselor" to every penny ante defense attorney in there.
They better check the # of members. Sounds a little low to me.
The only way I will make an arrest is on signed complaints after a lengthy discourse with the 'victim' about the realities of the Cook County justice system.

Sounds like all of you will be on the losing end of a class action lawsuit for civil rights violations. You'd better stay far away from this Federal lawsuit waiting to happen. And the photos from the party will be the icing on the prosecution's cake.

Oh is that the goal? Should we give them firearm training courses then too so they can fucking aim better? The goal should be to destroy all of these gangs and put away every last gang member in the city. This isn't going to happen though with the current court system in crook county.
All those arrests and everyone out on I-Bonds. 40 years ago a dozen cops with nightsticks would have decimated that gang. How far we've fallen as a nation to allow criminals to ruin our lives.
Chicago claims it has 100,000 gang members. MLD's equal about 3,000 members in at least 20 seperate factions. GMc's numbers dont match up.

A while back an ISP Trooper had his DUI case with an influential individual thrown out.
His lawyer cited a court case/law indicating that State Police were keeping tabs on DUI's, tickets for a reward-type, points program in violation of this case law.
While the defendant was a heavy, possibly a judge himself if I remember correctly, (J.J. Mc?) and the case would have been tossed anyway, there was in fact case law cited that indicated that it was unlawful for the po-po to enforce certain laws under a point or reward type system or contest.
Just saying...anyone out there remember more specifics.

At least Seven shootings, one stabbing and two guys hit in the head with bricks last night.
We should stop declaring war on things to create political theater. It makes us look like fools.
Who was it..Nancy Reagan wasn't it that declared a war on drugs long ago and like the war in Vietnam it's been a failure that is bankrupting states and the nation as a whole.
The same goes for the war on poverty. There's another one.
Food stamp caseloads have risen from just 18 million people in 2000 to over 45 million people today.
That's a time frame covers both political parties so it's a systemic issue.
No child left behind for our schools is another one -- a joke as the budgets are being hacked and the taxpayers being held for ransom.
So now we have declared another war, a war on gangs. Why am I not impressed?
We play this political b.s. about gangs and allow the "broken windows" of illegal immigration, sanctuary city zones of impunity that's is at the core continue.
The political apparatus doesn't really want the crime and the shootings to stop. Because if it did look at all the self promoting photo ops that would be lost.
