Condensation Killing
This one will rank right up there with "chicken wing," "turkey leg," and many others:
A dripping window air conditioner led to the execution-style killing of a West Side man, police said Monday.
Charles Sims, 28, shot Jimmy Parker eight times about 2 a.m. on June 2, police said. Sims appeared in court Monday on a charge of first-degree murder. He is being held without bond.
Sims’ sister had complained to him that Parker dropped water on her from the window of an apartment building in the 5600 block of West Washington, police said.
This story has everything! Drama. Suspense. An unforgettable cast of characters. And another example of exactly what's wrong with Chicago's 9-1-1 system:
- The warm water fell on Sims’ sister when she returned home to the building shortly before midnight on June 1, police said. She called police to report the incident.
The ghetto understanding of thermodynamics notwithstanding, how in the hell was this a police matter (before the shooting we mean)? Air conditioners drip. They also hang out windows and are difficult to move quickly, so she had to have looked up and seen it wasn't Parker, but a machine in the window. And someone took this call. Amazing.

That has to be a rarity. We would have labeled this entire piece "un-fucking-believable," but in actuality, we aren't even surprised. Judging from the comments in the Sun Times though, plenty of people are surprised. Welcome to the real world.

If it was not for these animals in all citys across the nation we would only need half the police resourses.

One that does not get enough credit is the Englewood Play Station execution a couple years back. The guy lost a game to his friend, went home got his gun and came back and killed his buddy. Who hasnt thought about doing that after losing a game? It beats the shit out of knocking all the pieces off the Monopoly board.
Not a lick of sense to move over out of the way of a drippy a/c. Two in the morning.... What time do they have to get up for work? Do you think 6 witnesses will show up at 26th & Cal for a 9:00 court call?

...because no one answering 911 calls has the balls to tell the caller that it is not a police matter. The supervisors hang the threat of discipline and law suits over every one's head. When in doubt, send it out they say.
Now the other side of it is the caller most likely threatened to kill the landlord if police did not come... why you ask? Ghetto culture of calling the police for everything and using violence to resolve conflict.
They have no knowledge of laws or understand why situations have only civil remedies. If they are wronged somehow, they call 911 and want a report for it. In fact they call 911 for just about everything... directions, where my baby daddy got locked up, locked my keys in the car, do I gots a warrant, I aint gots no minutes on my phone, can you connect me with my cousin, the power is out in my house, whatchoo mean call comed, cant you do something about it?
I can go on and on...
I have taken too many calls for civil issues when the caller is openly threatening the gas station employee or fry cook. Even after telling them that it is a civil issue, they call 911 again and again to get another call taker to make it a disturbance. In fact I have received a call from the employee after being attacked by the very caller I just told I am not sending the police.
I would bet a paycheck that she screamed into the phone that the landlord dumped water on her head and the police need to do something about it...

Its a true story. All the fourcorner hustlers on madison/parkside swear this is how it went down. Don't worry though, the victim was no big loss to society, he was a local neighborhood drug dealer.

Union wins round over Quinn in raises
The state’s largest employee union won the first round in its battle with Gov. Pat Quinn over his decision to block pay raises for 30,000 workers after an arbitrator ruled today that the administration is violating its contract by not doling out the increases.
Workers were scheduled to get a 2 percent pay bump on July 1, but Quinn refused to pay the raises for workers in 14 agencies. The governor said lawmakers did not set aside enough money to cover the $75 million cost and keep government running for a full year.
The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees took the matter to an arbitrator, in addition to filing a lawsuit in federal court. Today, arbitrator Edwin Benn directed the state to pay the increases and to make up the difference in lost wages to workers within 30 days.
“These are hard fiscal times for the state, no doubt. However, when the state did not pay the increase… the state did not keep its promise,” Benn wrote. “The state must now keep its promise.”

Speaking of water condensation, did you see that 2 beaches had swim bans (not closings) today due to fog? I am not making this up. Of course Breaking News did not say which ones. Nothing surprises me anymore when it comes these savages. They have no regard for basic decency. The only thing that matters is that I and my fellow officers stay safe and hopefully retire with good health and hopefully, our sanity.

you need to get rid of that corrup chicago police commander anthony corruthers who is in charge of the 7th police district. He does not care about us and is friends with the gangs. From the people on the block Ive heard he has met with some of the gang leaders in the area on personal time and had bought them dinner and drinks and nights out on the town... why is that?? maybe the commander corruthers is getting kickbacks from the gangsters to keep the heat off of them. This is just a rumor but it wouldnt suprise me considering his brother is Ike corruthers who was the chicago alderman that went to prison last year for taking kickbacks and money... Get rid of anthony corruters! We need a real police in charge. We are living in fear!

Some people are utterly weird about "water." I have seen them "clean" a bathroom by dipping a rag into the toilet and wiping everything down -- water is water, regardless of the source.

Oh, come on, there have been air conditioners hanging out of windows on the West Side since the late 60's, same with the project windows on the west and southsides.
No one in this country would ever believe this shit...but we know don't we. Oh and that was the second time McGoof was in a court house, the first time is when he got cuaght shooting out street lights, and resisting. Rahm you're an asshole.
