Georgia Executes Cop Killer

  • Georgia inmate Troy Davis has been executed for the killing of an off-duty police officer in a case that has drawn worldwide support over his claims of innocence.

Courts consistently ruled against him, however, and the officer’s family says they finally have justice after 22 years.

Davis was pronounced dead at 11:08 p.m. Wednesday. He was put to death for the 1989 killing of Mark MacPhail. The officer was shot to death while rushing to help a homeless man being attacked by Davis and others.

This one was a long time coming. Now if only they'd off that Mumia jagoff.

It was weird how they protested this guys execution. But no one cared about the guy in texas that was put to death on the same day. Hmm I wonder why? Maybe because one was white offender black victim. And one was black offender white police officer victim.

Don't do the crime if you can't do the needle...no...no'ah. Seriously, go to ODMP and cry at the long line of PO's, like you and me, that have lost their lives just doing their jobs for their communities! Though I wear the team patch for Chicago, I am so proud of all the agencies, and all the generations and families that sacrificed for our safety. God bless the McPhail family, his friends and co-workers.

what sucks is all the liberals like Kim Kardashian who decried this execution. Troy did NOT suffer nor feel any pain. The Officer he killed however did.
I submit that they bring back the gas chamber and electric chair(georgia has it but it is a default method) ONLY as the only methods of execution in this country.
I never saw the electric chair used, but I DID witness 2 gas chamber executions in Mississippi. LEt me tell you,the look of total fear on their faces as that gas comes up ALWAYS put a smile on my face. THAT is JUSTICE!
Now mumia.....keep holding your breaths SCC.

It's ridiculous that it takes 22 years to execute a killer. That poor family has had to suffer through all of it--and I can't wait for the day when they finally obliterate Mumia from the face of this earth.

I wonder how many of you liberals that lurk here realize that this was NOT the first brush with the law that Troy Davis had. How many of you know that he used the same gun to shoot another man in the face PRIOR to it being used to shoot and murder Officer McPhail. How many of you know that he BRAGGED about shooting Officer McPhail stating that "he wanted to know how it felt to kill a man"? How many of you know that he was a gang member in Georgia?

I agree. They interviewed the poor coppers mom last week. She looked exhausted and was practically crying. She said she just wanted it to be over so she could get on with what is left of her life. He took more than one life that day.

Decent people should be glad he no longer loses a threat to anyone. the 'celebrity' protesters are at least misguided, at worst just whores for the media. They are disgusting with no thought of the victim. Ignore them and boycott whenever possible. Ben & Jerry and Clooney learned this lesson. So should they all.

It's frustrating that the supporters of this killer ignored the facts. Like the shorts he was wearing that night were found in his mama's home, with blood spatter and GSR, but that vital piece of evidence was not permissible because mama claimed she never gave consent to a search.

Pretty much ends the argument over whether or not he was guilty as far as I'm concerned.

12:15....I was wandering the exact same thing. You hit that nail on the head. No one cares about the white police officer it seems, only the poor black killer who went to his grave claiming innocence. I also liked the media turn on this pos, likened him to Christ Unbeilevable!

This cop murderer's PR campaign of innocence was repeatedly rejected by our government. Wonder why that was, hello? Last night was the final time the government said "No". JUSTICE is served.
God bless all cops and their families forced to suffer uneducated propaganda spewing from our ill and ignorant culture. These days, it's much more IG (instant gratification)to hop on a bandwagon that sucks up to lying cop killers than to take time out of one's day to go back and look at the unrefuted facts which still stand today regardless of so many recantings. The facts convicted this piece of xxxx in the first place. The facts upheld his sentence and his execution.

I watched the Liberal/Progressive MSNBC and Current TV last night to see their bullshit spins on it.

Of course Current completely glossed over the white male in Texas being executed and said that, essentially, we can only be in one place at a time.

MSNBC had king Racist Sharpton on with his sping, but surprisingly, Chris Matthews and his guests were a little more diplomatic. The all agreed that over time, facts said in trial become watered down and ignored-kind of like that game you play as a kid when you whisper a phrase in one persons ear, and by the time it gets to the last, it is completely changed.

I was shocked to see a bald commentator/lawyer (forget his name) who represents the Faulkner family and he is disgusted how the cause of mumia has been bastardized in the media and with celebrities from what the truth is.

It was refreshing to see because the ultra liberal Matthews and anoterh black commentator did not have a response

this is a bigger issue. There is a movement to make killing a cop the same as killing an ordinary citizen. No protected class, no aggravared charges...mentioned at fop national convention during a presentation. Many cop killers besides mumia are celebrated..two in philly..on youtube, talking shit from prison, cell phone camera footage. Hollywood stars get behind them...they actually believe killing a cop is a 1st amendment act of free speech.

Ann Coulter has a great article about this case on her website. she actually has the facts on this case.

imagine the hub bub when mumia has to go. hopefully the media will lay out the facts in that case instead of just letting hollywood express their BS talking points.

The reason the death penalty is not a deterent is becasue it takes almost 22 years to finally execute a conviocted killer. Back in the days of the Old West Judge Roy Bean had you out next to the hanging tree pronto. No appeals...no nothing. Swift justice is a thing of the past in this crazy world. No wonder we see all the cranage going on.

As Troy Davis departed this world for a more stygian one, many celbrities wept bitter tears of despair. Big Boi, Kim Kardashian, Gabrielle Union and P Diddy who worked tirelessly for his release, will have to dry there eyes, steel their resolve and look for another killer to defend, preferably one who just murdered a police officer.

If these liberals all love them perhaps these inmates could live in their mansions and sleep down the hall from them? See how they'd love a child killer sleeping in the room next to their kids.

Reading and Listening to programs regarding the death penalty, make me wonder, what world do these people live in ? The current governor, is a fine example. They live in some unreal world, where the terrible evils, of human beings, can be washed away, by their kind understanding, and forgiveness.
NOT.......!

I made the same observation about the execution in Texas.
Ex-President Carter, the Pope, Amnesty International, France and all the other hand wringing asshats had not one word, not a one, to say about the Texas execution or tried to stop it.
No protest, no t-shirts, no crying on camera.

Per Wikipedia, "On April 26, 2011, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed his conviction as well as its decision to vacate the death sentence. The issue of the sentence was remanded for a new hearing. The death penalty may be imposed again or Abu-Jamal may receive a sentence of life without parole."

His fate has since been decided?
